Out of Meteor Falls, the original road led back to the base of Mt. Chimney, and the Team Magma members stationed at the cable car entrance had already left.

Chris entered and took the cable car up towards Mt. Chimney.

When he arrived at the summit, both Team Magma and Team Aqua were already there, and the battle had begun!

As Chris approached, a text prompt suddenly popped up on his handheld device.

[Yes/No to enter the dungeon "Volcano Plan" (special rewards for first completion)]

[Dungeon recommended entry level: 45]

"Dungeon?" Chris muttered in surprise.

There was nothing like this in the original game.

Even with so many people fighting together, it was usually just a big team battle.

But now there's a dungeon?

The recommended level for this dungeon is 45.

Chris glanced at his team.

Among his Pokémon, Gabite and Frogadier were the highest leveled, only at level 34, and the average level of his six Pokémon was below 30.

Level 45, huh?

Chris thought about it for a moment, saved his progress, and decided to give it a try.

He clicked "Yes" to enter.

In an instant, the scene around Chris shifted. In the blink of an eye, he found himself standing at the mouth of the volcano, with a translucent light-blue screen appearing before him.

[Dungeon Goal: Defeat Maxie, the leader of Team Magma, and stop the Volcano Plan from being executed]

[Time limit: 60 minutes]

The thick smell of sulfur stung his nose, black smoke filled the air, and heat waves rolled in. Within ten seconds, Chris was already drenched in sweat.

Around him, members of Team Magma and Team Aqua were locked in fierce combat.

Everyone was commanding their Pokémon to attack their rivals, and the attacks were ruthless—not just a battle to learn from each other, but a fight to the death! If given the chance, they'd even target the opposing Trainers.

"Defeat Maxie within an hour?" Chris frowned as he read the quest prompt. It wasn't just a question of Maxie's strength—where was Maxie, anyway?

"There's a Water Fleet member!" a Team Magma grunt suddenly pointed at Chris and shouted.

"But he's not in a Water Fleet uniform!"

"Doesn't matter—if they're not wearing our Team Magma uniform, take them out!"

"Mightyena, use Night Slash!"

A Mightyena charged toward Chris through the smoky battlefield, a faint icon hovering over its head.

Level 32.

A dark aura began swirling around Mightyena's body like a black cloak. When it was about three meters away, it leaped into the air, fangs bared, aiming for Chris's head.

"Rock Smash!"

Chris raised his hand, and in a flash, Combusken appeared in front of him. Its claws, glowing with white light, delivered a swift strike to Mightyena.

"Boom!" Mightyena's head was slammed into the ground by Combusken's powerful blow, even cracking the earth beneath it.

Not giving it any chance to recover, Combusken quickly followed up with another "Rock Smash," this time with its left claw.

Boom!

Mightyena's body trembled slightly before collapsing, unable to continue fighting. Considering that Combusken's *Rock Smash* is strong enough to shatter boulders, it was no surprise that Mightyena couldn't withstand the blow.

[Defeated Mightyena LV32. Combusken gained 2086 experience points.]

"Defeating opponents here gives experience points, and it seems to be more than the usual NPC battles," Chris noted as the prompt appeared before him.

"He's tough! Get him!" someone shouted amidst the chaos of the battlefield.

Two more Mightyena sprang from the shadows, rushing toward Chris.

Chris quickly tossed another Poké Ball, summoning Frogadier to join the fight.

The two Pokémon, Combusken and Frogadier, each faced a Mightyena, one on the left and one on the right.

However, just behind Chris, a Golbat silently emerged from the corner. Moving like a ghost, it swooped toward Chris's neck, its sharp fangs glowing with a faint purple light—ready to unleash *Poison Fang*.

Chris didn't notice the sneak attack coming from behind, but one of his Poké Balls suddenly opened on its own.

Kirlia jumped out! Her body shimmered with *Confusion*, and she positioned herself between Golbat and Chris. With a quick motion, she unleashed *Psybeam* directly at Golbat's face!

The strange, twisting beam of light struck Golbat, piercing through it with precision. The Psychic-type move dealt double damage, perfectly countering the Poison/Flying-type Golbat!

[Defeated Golbat LV32. Kirlia gained 1726 experience points. Kirlia leveled up! Current level: 30.]

When Chris turned around, drenched in cold sweat, he saw a new, tall and graceful figure standing behind him.

Kirlia had evolved into Gardevoir!

[Gardevoir (Psychic/Fairy) (Shiny)]

[Level: 30]

[Ability: Synchronize (When burned, poisoned, or paralyzed, the opponent will receive the same status condition.)]

[IVs: HP (31), Attack (31), Special Attack (31), Defense (31), Special Defense (31), Speed (31)]

[Moves: *Disarming Voice, Growl, Double Team, Confusion, Draining Kiss, Teleport, Calm Mind, Psybeam, Flash, Secret Power, Dazzling Gleam, Hypnosis, Misty Terrain, Healing Wish, Moonblast, Life Dew, Wish*]

[Held Item: Twisted Spoon]

Her once black hair had now transformed into a brilliant, light blue, reminiscent of the calmness of the ocean at night. Her tall, elegant figure, combined with her tranquil presence, embodied the perfect harmony of Psychic and Fairy types. Chris could only think of four words: "the most beautiful partner."

"Gardevoir is mine! Gentlemen, ready your swords!" he thought to himself, overwhelmed by admiration.

Then, Chris's mind wandered to certain questionable possibilities, imagining the bond between humans and Pokémon, especially humanoid ones like Gardevoir. He even remembered rumors about N from the Black and White games potentially being the offspring of a human and a Pokémon.

Before Chris could linger on these thoughts, the battlefield snapped him back to reality. Combusken and Frogadier had already defeated the two Mightyena. Mightyena of the same level stood no chance against them.

With three Mightyena and a Golbat down, some of the surrounding Team Magma grunts hesitated to approach Chris, clearly intimidated by his team's strength.

"You lot, go help the boss! I'll handle this one!" Suddenly, a rotund man in an executive uniform stepped forward from the distance. By his side was a menacing Houndoom.

A prompt appeared in front of Chris.

[Boss Battle Triggered: VS Team Magma Executive "Tabitha" (Extra rewards for victory).]
