Pokémon Simulation: Hunting The Protagonists

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: A Sword Dance TM Worth 4 Million

"Elena, he's a scumbag."

"You need to stay away from him."

"I'll find a way to save you from this devil."

"I can give you a better future."

"I'll make sure you'll never have to suffer."

"So you have to wait for me."

"Elena… how am I supposed to live without you?"

"Ethan, you bastard! I won't let you get away with this! You animal, you piece of trash—you'll never have a good ending!"

In the end, just as Gideon was about to strike, the security guards dragged him away.

Even while being taken out, Gideon kept cursing at Ethan.

Elena, still bewildered by Gideon's furious reaction, turned to Ethan.

"What did you say to him? Why's he so angry?"

Ethan shrugged.

"I told him you were already pregnant with my child, and you always serve me tea, wash my clothes, cook for me, and happily earn money to support me."

Any man who heard that his dream girl was being treated that way without being cherished would probably lose his mind and reach for a knife.

"You're lucky he didn't beat you to death," Elena said, her perfect face twitching slightly. She rolled her eyes at him. "Also, what nonsense are you talking about? Pregnant with your child? You can't just say things like that."

"If rumors spread, your dear sister might not be able to find a husband!"

If anyone else dared to joke like this, Elena would've slapped them across the face without hesitation.

But with Ethan, she had a soft spot—she treated him like her own little brother. She couldn't bring herself to get mad at him.

Ethan sighed dramatically.

"See? Simps really have it tough. It's a path no one should take."

He thought back to his past life when he and Tyler both pursued Aria. The two had foolishly competed with each other, showering Aria with gifts and vying for her favor.

Back then, Ethan had at least gotten close to her. But poor Tyler hadn't even held her hand despite all his efforts.

Looking back, Ethan found it laughable how naïve and innocent they had been as students.

After Gideon was escorted out by security, the crowd of onlookers gradually dispersed.

Ethan followed Elena back to her office.

Not long after, the ponytailed store clerk returned with a bag containing eight TMs, just as Elena had instructed earlier.

Each TM glowed in a different color, representing its unique type.

Placed on the desk, the discs looked dazzling under the light.

Once the store clerk left, Elena carefully took the TMs out of the bag.

Ethan had already noticed her carrying the bag earlier. Clearly, she had gone to fetch these items before returning.

"What's this?" Ethan asked, glancing at the colorful discs. He already had a guess.

"These are the Sword Dance and Energy Ball TMs," Elena explained.

Ethan raised an eyebrow in surprise.

As someone who worked at a TM specialty store, Elena surely knew how valuable these TMs were.

Ethan had originally planned to leverage his connections with his third uncle's family just to get one of these TMs in the future. Even getting one would've been a huge win for him.

But Elena had gone above and beyond.

Not only did she manage to secure the Energy Ball TM, but she also got the Sword Dance TM—the one Ethan wanted most.

"This Energy Ball TM was purchased from another store under my father's name. The internal price was around 2.8 million credits."

2.8 million credits for an Energy Ball TM was already dirt cheap compared to its market value of at least 3.5 million credits.

"As for the Sword Dance TM…"

The Sword Dance TM was worth at least 4 million credits, and even if you had the money, it wasn't always easy to find.

Ethan had already prepared to call his dad for help.

"Take it. It's yours," Elena said with a laugh as she saw Ethan's rare serious expression.

"Huh?" Ethan blinked, confused.

"My dad gave it to me as a gift a while back. I've kept it because none of my Pokémon can use it. Since you need it, you might as well take it."

"If you're feeling guilty about it, think of it as an investment."

"Didn't you say you wanted to become the strongest trainer in the Shenzo Region? You even aim to be the Champion one day!"

"Trading a Sword Dance TM for a future Champion's favor is a great deal for me."

Giving away a TM worth 4 million credits with no guarantees—Elena's decisiveness was something even Ethan admired.

Shenzo Region Champion…

That had been his dream as a kid.

But in his previous life, his future had been completely ruined by Tyler.

He no longer had any interest in being the strongest trainer.

Ethan knew Elena only said those things to give him a reason to accept the Sword Dance TM.

But he couldn't refuse.

Sword Dance was a crucial part of his plan.

With this skill, his odds of defeating Cassandra would increase by at least 30%.

Even if she had backup Pokémon, Ethan wouldn't fear her anymore.

Ethan held Elena's soft, pale hand with a sincere look in his eyes. "Elena, you're so good to me. You're going to make an amazing wife someday."

Elena rolled her eyes again. "You're one to talk! Thanks to someone claiming I'm pregnant with his child, if that rumor spreads and ruins my reputation, I'll make sure you take responsibility!"

"Ahem. I did that to help you get rid of your pursuer!"

"Alright, alright. I'm not really mad at you. But now, dear Mr. Rich Trainer, these nine TMs come to a total of 4 million credits. Will you be paying in cash, or would you prefer to use your Trainer Card?"

"Trainer Card, please."

Ethan quickly called his father.

A few moments later, a notification popped up on his phone—2 million credits had been transferred to his Trainer Card.

He handed the card to Elena with a grin.
