Chapter 449: Chapter 37: A Sudden Atmosphere

"Roar!" A thunderous roar erupted from Charizard's throat, resonating like the cry of a dragon.

The flames on its tail flared up dramatically, reaching over two meters high. These flames began to shift, coalescing into a fiery sphere above Charizard's head, burning with an intensity that seemed to defy natural limits.

The surrounding air grew heavy, the atmosphere stilled, and even the faint breeze came to an unnatural halt.

The sheer pressure emanating from Charizard's preparation created a profound silence that spread across the battlefield.

Richardon's sharp gaze locked onto Charizard. What it sensed now was no ordinary strength—this was the aura of a god, a power that transcended the mortal realm.

The setting sun, tilting westward, suddenly grew brighter. The sunlight appeared to bend and converge, drawn into the fireball forming above Charizard's head. The ball of flame solidified further, intricate patterns appearing on its surface, as though marking it as something divine.

From Ash's shadow, Marshadow emerged silently, its gaze fixated on the growing fireball. No matter how many times it witnessed this phenomenon, it couldn't help but feel awestruck.

The golden flames radiated an energy akin to myth, a power that rivaled its own master's domain.

The flames on Charizard's tail dimmed slightly, returning to their usual size. All of Charizard's energy was now concentrated in the fireball above its head, which had reached completion.

Above the battlefield, a second "sun" seemed to have appeared. The fireball shone with such brilliance that from a distance, it looked like the sky held two suns—a radiant display of unparalleled power.

Richardon trembled with excitement, overwhelmed by the fireball's oppressive energy. The Totem Charizard roared fiercely as flames enveloped its body.

The orange fire rapidly intensified, turning blue with heat. Sparks of electricity began crackling within the flames, a byproduct of energy colliding violently with the air.

This was Richardon's ultimate move: Flare Blitz.

Understanding it had no time to hesitate, Richardon charged forward, its entire body blazing.

With unwavering determination, it shot towards the fireball like a comet, ready to give its all in this final clash.

Charizard, hovering like a god above the battlefield, remained calm. As Richardon rushed upward, Charizard willed the fireball to unleash its power.

A dense, concentrated beam of golden flame burst forth, splitting the air with a deafening roar.

"BOOM!" The impact was cataclysmic. The two forces collided with unimaginable intensity, releasing an explosion that shook the ground.

A fiery cross illuminated the battlefield, its dazzling light forcing everyone to shield their eyes.

When the light subsided, Richardon's form could be seen hurtling back towards the ground.

It crashed with immense force, carving a long, deep trench into the earth as it slid nearly fifty meters before coming to a stop.

The fireball above Charizard's head slowly dissipated, its energy spent. Charizard hovered proudly in the air, golden embers flickering around its majestic form. It radiated an aura of divine might, a being of myth come to life.

"It's... it's too strong," Liza murmured, her voice filled with awe as she tended to Richardon's injuries. She turned to Ash, her curiosity overwhelming.

"How did you come up with a move like the Golden Flame Cannon? What's the principle behind it? Can other Charizards learn this too?"

Ash shook his head slightly, unsure how to explain. This wasn't a move he had truly "developed"—it was a gift from the Three Legendary Gods, a power unique to his Charizard.

"It's not something just any Charizard can learn," he replied vaguely. "It's... a special case."

Liza nodded slowly, though her mind raced with unanswered questions. She couldn't deny what she had seen: a move capable of allowing an Gym-level Charizard to defeat a champion-level Pokémon, even one as formidable as Richardon. This level of power was unprecedented.

Not even the Z-Moves of the Alola region could compare. Liza could only speculate that this move was akin to the mythical abilities of legendary Pokémon, powers she had only heard about in stories.

Meanwhile, Richardon stirred. Though it had not been defeated outright, its energy was severely depleted, and burn marks marred its body—a rarity for a Fire-type Pokémon.

The source of this anomaly was clear: the Golden Flame Cannon wasn't just fire. It contained the power of divine law, capable of breaking conventional rules.

For Richardon, this was a revelation. It realized that mastery over the laws of nature was the key to reaching new heights. The golden flames had shown it what lay beyond mere champion-level power.

Despite its injuries, Richardon rose to its feet and approached Ash. Its movements were deliberate, and its gaze was filled with respect and determination.

However, Charizard immediately stepped forward, positioning itself between Richardon and Ash. Its eyes glinted with a warning, daring Richardon to make a move.

Pikachu, sensing the tension, abandoned its playful tussle with Togepi and leapt onto Ash's shoulder. Its ears twitched as it fixed an unyielding stare on Richardon.

From the sidelines, Misty and Brock instinctively moved closer to Ash, ready to act if needed.

The atmosphere grew heavy once more, charged with unspoken tension as the two sides seemed poised for conflict.

Liza, confused by the sudden escalation, stepped forward nervously. "What's going on?" she asked, glancing between the two Charizards. "Why is everyone so tense?"

The air crackled with anticipation, every eye locked on Richardon as the room awaited its next move.
