T/N: bruh, just cause I didn't update this for a few days, don't think I'm gonna drop it! Seriously, even I've come to love it!
Also, from now on, maybe I'll update 2 chap a day? So I can pretty much finish it rather quickly and move on to another pokemon fic which is even better, and is even more popular than this one! Which I'm gonna add advance chaps off too, haha! (I'm poor so, can't have my sorry ass to be on the ground, can we?)
Also, you can join the Patreon if you wanna take sneak peek at the next pokemon fic or any other fic you're interested in my Patreon.

"I wonder when I'll get the chance to face that legendary Pokémon, the one-of-a-kind Dragonite from ancient myths. A Pokémon so powerful that even a bugged system like mine can't analyze its skills or strength. If I could catch it... I'd be unstoppable!"
Lost in daydreams of grandeur, Zephyr stepped into Vermilion City, home to the Electric-type Gym. The city buzzed with energy, its streets alive with activity. Shops displayed shelves lined with Pikachu-themed merchandise—plushies, tail-shaped brooches, thunderbolt helmets—all celebrating Electric Pokémon. The vibrant atmosphere was infectious, drawing smiles from everyone passing by.
A low growl from his stomach pulled Zephyr back to reality. He sheepishly rubbed his abdomen. "Even the strongest trainers need to eat. No exceptions. First food, then I'll get Grimer—uh, Shiny Muk—back into top form."
At the Pokémon Center, Zephyr handed over his Poké Balls to the nurse and asked for a meal. While he ate, he couldn't help but notice several Pokémon resting on cots, their fur and scales charred and scorched. His curiosity got the better of him.
"Excuse me, Nurse," Zephyr said, gesturing toward the injured Pokémon. "What happened to them?"
With a heavy sigh, the nurse replied, "These are the fifteenth batch of injured Pokémon this month. All of them were defeated by Lt. Surge, the Vermilion Gym Leader."
"All of them? Is he really that tough?" Zephyr leaned forward, eyes gleaming with excitement. "Sounds like someone I'd love to take on!"
"Don't underestimate him," the nurse warned, her expression grim. "Lt. Surge's Pokémon are trained to their limits, and he doesn't hold back in battles. Many challengers leave battered, both physically and emotionally."
"That seems a bit harsh," Zephyr muttered, frowning. "Gym battles are supposed to be tests of skill, not punishments. By the way, do you know what Pokémon he uses?"
"Of course. Lt. Surge has three Pokémon: Voltorb, Magnemite, and his ace, Raichu."
"Raichu, huh?" Zephyr murmured. "It's not every day you see one. Evolving a Pikachu takes a Thunder Stone, and a strong Raichu must have been well-trained before evolving."
"Exactly," the nurse said, nodding. "Lt. Surge's Raichu is exceptionally powerful. Be careful if you plan to challenge him. That said, it's strange—just a few weeks ago, a young trainer from Pallet Town, Ash, managed to beat Lt. Surge with an unevolved Pikachu."
"Ash was here?" Zephyr exclaimed. "And he won?"
"Yes. He lost the first time but came back with a strategy to win. It was quite a spectacle."
Zephyr grinned, a competitive fire igniting in his chest. "Looks like Ash and his friends are ahead of me. Time to pick up the pace!"
After thanking the nurse, Zephyr sprinted to the Vermilion Gym. The Gym was vast and dimly lit, a military theme dominating the décor. Standing at the center was Lt. Surge, a towering man with a booming laugh.
"Well, well, another kid here to challenge me?" Surge sneered.
"Kid?!" Zephyr snapped. "The name's Zephyr, and I'm here to take you down!"
Surge laughed even harder. "Another one from Pallet Town, huh? Let's see if you've got what it takes. Three Pokémon each. When all of your Pokémon are out, you lose. Ready to get fried?"
"I should be asking you that," Zephyr retorted, throwing his first Poké Ball. "Go, Beedrill!"
As Beedrill materialized, its golden hue glimmered under the Gym's lights.
"A shiny Beedrill? Impressive," Surge said. "But it won't save you. Voltorb, you're up!"
The spherical Electric Pokémon rolled into position, sparking with energy.
Zephyr wasted no time. "Beedrill, use Agility, then follow up with Double Team and Pin Missile!"
Beedrill zipped around the battlefield, creating multiple afterimages before unleashing a barrage of glowing needles.
"Voltorb, Rollout!" Surge commanded.
Voltorb spun rapidly, its speed increasing with every turn. It plowed through the Pin Missile attacks, forcing Beedrill to dodge desperately.
"This isn't working," Zephyr muttered. "Beedrill, Hyper Beam!"
As Beedrill charged the devastating attack, Surge smirked. "Voltorb, Screech!"
A shrill, piercing noise echoed through the Gym, disrupting Beedrill's focus. Before it could recover, Voltorb struck with a powerful Electric Shock, knocking Beedrill out.
"You did well, Beedrill," Zephyr said as he recalled it. "But now it's time to get serious. Go, Shiny Muk!"
Surge raised an eyebrow at the shimmering sludge Pokémon. "Another shiny? Kid, your luck doesn't scare me. Voltorb, Self-Destruct!"
"Shiny Muk, minimize the damage! Use Acid Armor!"
Voltorb glowed white before detonating, the explosion shaking the arena. When the smoke cleared, both Pokémon were down.
"Not bad, kid," Surge said, recalling Voltorb. "But you won't beat my next one. Magnemite, let's go!"
The magnetic Pokémon hovered into the battlefield, its magnets spinning ominously.
"Shiny Muk, Mud-Slap!" Zephyr commanded.
But before Shiny Muk could move, it was hit by a Thunder Wave, paralyzing it. Zephyr gritted his teeth as Surge ordered Magnemite to Self-Destruct. This time, Shiny Muk couldn't defend itself and fainted alongside Magnemite.
"You're down to your last Pokémon," Surge said smugly. "And now, it's Raichu's turn!"
Zephyr's final Poké Ball opened, revealing Haunter.
"Haunter, put it to sleep with Hypnosis!" Zephyr called.
"Raichu, dodge and use Thunder Punch!" Surge countered.
Haunter barely avoided the electric attack. It retaliated with Poison Gas, poisoning Raichu. Seizing the opportunity, Haunter unleashed a devastating Dark Pulse. The attack hit Raichu head-on, knocking it out.
"You win," Surge said, handing Zephyr the Thunder Badge. "You've got guts, kid. I underestimated you."
As Zephyr left the Gym, a grin spread across his face. "That was close. Time to rest up and prepare for the next adventure. I hear there's a mysterious island nearby..."
