Final Year
(Ash Pov)
As the plane landed back in Kanto, Ash started to climb out of the plane. As he left the plane he notes 3 people were waiting for him; his mother Delia, Professor Oak, and Gary. The first to notice him was Oak who waved at Ash, quickly followed by the other 2.
"Hello my boy, it's good to see you. How was your stay in Alola?" Oak asked as Ash got hit with a hug from Delia.
"Hello, when you said it would be like a vacation you weren't kidding." Ash said with a bit of sarcasm, "I can tell you all on our way back to Pallet."
"You better, you will not believe how boring it got here without you, everyone asked where you were. And the transfer that took your place hardly talked with everyone, he spent most of his time studying or talking about how he missed his Pokemon back in Alola." Gary said, seemingly very happy that Ash was back.
As they traveled back to Pallet, Ash told them about his misadventures in Alola, and in return Gary told him what he missed during his year away from school. Like he said everyone was asking about him, classic went on as usual but also apparently Wally had decided to start taking classes to become a Pokemon trainer.
"I guess, you had more interesting adventures while I was gone," said Ash as they were nearing Pallet Town.
"Yeah, it seems like it was so boring over there in Alola, I am so glad I turned Gramps down when he asked me," Gary responded. "Anyway, we only have this last semester, then we only have to wait for you to turn 10 then we can all leave for our journey."
Hearing this Delia's ears perked up, "Oh that reminds me happy birthday, we got a little surprise for you back at home" Delia said as she led Ash home where there was a cake waiting for him, "Make a wish" and so Ash blew out the candles and the room went dark.
(Start of the school year)
It is the dawn of the Kanto kids' last year in school. And as soon as Ash got into the school he was greeted by his friends and classmates, even Paul and Silver seemed a little happy to see him.
He was asked many questions ranging from where he was to what happened, he even got some notable exchanges like Wally approaching him to thank him for giving him the courage to try and become a trainer, 'good for him' he thought.
As the crowd started dying down Oak got onto the stage and began talking, "Hello everyone welcome back to another, and for some of you your final year of school. As I am sure most of you know those of you that are from Kanto will have the choice to continue studying here, or graduate and follow any dream or other education you would like, so in celebration why don't you all come up and say what you will be doing."
As he finished talking he left the mic open for the Kanto children to come up and say their goals, most of the students would continue studying in Oak's school but there were five students who had different answers.
Ash: "I will go on and challenge the league"
Gary: "I will go and become a Pokemon master"
Green: "I will go on my adventure"
Yellow: "I am going back to Viridian City"
Chloe: "I will be going back to Vermilion City to continue my studies there"

As the semester continued it was more of a victory lap, he didn't learn anything he distinctly already knew, he was also legally allowed to go to medical school, somehow, 'I wish it was this easy to go to medical school' Ash thought.
Also, Ash found out that Base stat totals were a thing, but they could also be raised through training.
Over the semester the most interesting thing that happened was that there was a class trip where they would all go to the movies. The movie that was shown was that weird Pokemon movie based on the original Pokemon manga, the one about Red and his partner a talking Clefairy.
'Why is this a movie?' He thought, 'no better question, how is this a move? It even shows the brown Onix scene, which I will not be describing for my mental health, but it seems like the rest of the class enjoyed it.'
But Oak promised one more Professor would be coming in to talk before the school year ended. Also over the time he had been looking over his knowledge, he found out something new, he knew how to make Pokéblock, but it is different, instead of just boosting contest skills, if they are given to Pokemon, they get better results when training.
Another interesting thing is that Ash could now create Barriers, but they still needed some improvement, but baby steps, don't want to get corrupted.
But on a day that we had a free day from school Ash and Gary had a fishing competition on who could catch the most interesting thing. And as they pulled in the lines they found a very certain rusted Pokeball, and as they pulled on it, the Pokeball snapped in two.
But after some argument (Mostly from Gary), they agreed to keep the two halves as a sign of their rivalry.

On the day that the Professor would be coming, the school year was nearing its end, the class was currently talking to the five others in their class who would be leaving school.
"I'm gonna miss you, buddy," Tierno said to Ash as the rest of the children joined in.
"Yeah, I can't believe you all are going to be leaving, it feels like we just started, it feels like it has been 4 years since we started school together," said Bianca and everyone looked at her after she did.
"Umm, Bianca it has been 4 years," said Cheren, Bianca just responded by knocking on her head.
"Man, I am so jealous of you all I still have to wait before I can leave. I wish I could graduate too. How am I supposed to become the greatest Pokemon trainer stuck in school?" said Barry. "Just you wait for me once I graduate I will catch up in no time."
"Yeah you wish, I hope you all watch the next league tournament because I will be there and you will see a true Pokemon master win," Gary said with a very cocky attitude.
'Well, I guess even though he isn't condescending he is still season 1 Gary' Ash thought, then saying, " Don't worry, I will visit each region to participate in each league so I'm sure we will meet again."
Hearing this, most of the class became a bit happier, and 3 students in particular thought that when they meet again they could prove they are the superior Pokemon trainer.
As they continued chatting suddenly the door opened and Oak came in with one other woman, "Hello everyone I'm sure most of you are excited your classmates are graduating, but for now I would like you to meet Professor Magnolia."
Hearing this Professor Magnolia came up and looked over the class, and said, "Hello everyone I am glad to be here, you are all so cute you remind me of my granddaughter who isn't that much older than you all."
Magnolia is a slender old woman with green eyes and brown hair, she wears a yellow dress with long sleeves under a white lab coat, beige ballet flats, a purple necklace, and glasses. She also wears a purple headband and carries a bird-shaped cane.
She continued, "Well as Oak said I am a Professor, and my main field of study is the phenomenon called Dynamax. Now Dynamax is the phenomenon where for a short period increases a Pokemon's size and strength, then there is the variation called Gigantamax, where if a Pokemon has the potential they enter a larger and stronger exclusive form with a special move. Now what I specifically study is the history, you see you can only Dynamax with a special bracelet and only in specific locations with Dynamax energy, we call them Power Spots."
"Currently my Granddaughter is a Professor like me currently looking for a lead by studying the history of Gallar where Dynamax originated. Now, any questions?"
Ash really couldn't think of any questions, it seemed the most straightforward, but the rest of the class asked many questions ranging from what power spots look like, to what her granddaughter is doing.
As the questions continued Oak decided to cut in, "Well that is very informative, but unfortunately Professor Magnolia needs to leave", so let's not hold her." As he said that Professor Magnolia waved and left.
And just like that the year ended and there was a graduation ceremony for everyone that would be leaving Oak's school, although it was only Ash, Gary, Green, Chloe, and Yellow. Only 3 of them would be going to be trainers right away.
Oak began the ceremony, "I am glad that another wonderful year has gone by, I am also Glad to say that these five students will now be allowed to graduate and leave my school to pursue their goals, I wish all of you the best, now would any of you want to say a few words to your fellow students."
Hearing this Gary could not help but jump at the opportunity, as he came up to the mic he said, "The next time any of you will see me will be on TV when I will go on to win the league tournament, and as soon as you graduate finally you are more than welcomed to come to me and lose."
Hearing this the rest of the students seemed quite upset at Gary's words, and Oak took the mic, "That sure was a speech, would anyone else want to say something?" as he looked back, specifically at Ash.
'Well, I guess I have to fix Gary's mess yet again' as Ash walked up and took the mic and started, "Well I'm not too good at speeches so I will make this brief, these few years I have been studying here have been some of the greatest of my life, and that was mostly made because of all of you."
"So I look forward to seeing what all of you go on to do from becoming a trainer to becoming a professor, to even becoming a bird watcher. So thank you all and until we meet again." he handed the mic back to Oak and received cheers from the crowd.
Oak smiled at the reaction and said, "Thank you, and I wish all of you the best of luck. I look forward to what you will achieve in the future, and I hope for another great semester next year." Oak said, receiving cheers from everyone.
And just like that Ash's school life ended and his Adventure would start very soon.
