Pokémon: No Way! The Golden Finger Only Comes When I'm About To Die!?

Chapter 115: Dining with a Legendary Pokemon

When the crybaby Charcadet woke up, it was already midday.

The Oinkologne had found a safe place to rest. They spread a picnic cloth on the ground, laid out with food prepared by Munchlax before departure: steamed buns, plain buns, and grassy milk.

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

You're awake! How are you feeling?

Seeing the crybaby Charcadet open its eyes, the goodboy Charcadet quickly asked with concern. At that moment, the crybaby Charcadet was lying on its lap.

Although the goodboy Charcadet had been injured by the Mankey earlier, they carried medicine that Angie had prepared for them. After Oinkologne applied it, the goodboy Charcadet soon recovered.

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

Is everyone okay?

The crybaby Charcadet asked anxiously.

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

Everyone's fine now, don't worry. Thanks to you.

The goodboy Charcadet patted the crybaby Charcadet on the forehead as it spoke. While it hadn't witnessed the crybaby Charcadet's incredible display of power, the Oinkologne had vividly described the scene.

The goodboy Charcadet had never imagined its close friend possessed such strength.

Hearing the goodboy Charcadet's reassurance, the crybaby Charcadet let out a relieved sigh. Propping itself up to sit, its stomach gave a loud growl.

Its earlier display of power had drained its energy entirely, leaving its belly empty and rumbling with hunger!

The goodboy Charcadet fetched a steamed bun and a bottle of grassy milk, handing them to the crybaby Charcadet. The crybaby Charcadet took the bun, bit into it, then took a big gulp of milk, closing its eyes in bliss.

Noticing its friend staring at it, the crybaby Charcadet held out the bun.

"Charcadet~"

You eat too!

The goodboy Charcadet shook its head.

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

You eat it. I've already eaten.

Hearing this, the crybaby Charcadet didn't insist. It pulled back the bun and continued to eat with large bites.

Lunch quickly came to an end. The four Pokémon packed their things and resumed their journey.

As they walked, the crybaby Charcadet suddenly spotted a hollow in a tree. Excited, it called the goodboy Charcadet and the two Oinkologne over.

The three Pokémon crowded around, discovering the hollow filled with various nuts. Just as they were thrilled with their find, a Furret appeared out of nowhere, spitting a green seed at them.

The two Oinkologne immediately dodged, and the goodboy Charcadet yanked the crybaby Charcadet away.

The seed hit the ground and exploded, leaving a crater where the four Pokémon had been standing moments earlier.

"Furret~ Furret~"

The Furret angrily accused the four Pokémon of being thieves. It turned out the stash of nuts belonged to it.

The goodboy Charcadet hurriedly stepped forward to apologize, explaining that they hadn't realized the nuts were already claimed.

However, the Furret was too furious to believe the goodboy Charcadet's words.

As the Furret was about to launch another attack on the crybaby Charcadet, the female Oinkologne stepped forward. Her tail emitted a rich, floral fragrance, as sweet as blooming flowers. The furious Furret inhaled the scent and gradually calmed down.

Finally, the crybaby Charcadet managed to clear up the misunderstanding. The Furret, realizing it had jumped to conclusions, apologized for attacking rashly and gifted each of the four Pokémon an acorn.

Carrying the acorns given by Furret, the four Pokémon resumed their journey.

While passing a cliff, they suddenly heard a roar. An Ursaring came charging towards them, holding something that appeared to be… a beehive? Honey dripped from it as it ran.

The reason for Ursaring's panic soon became clear—a swarm of Beedrill was chasing it relentlessly!

Wait—Beedrill?

The Charcadet and Oinkologne widened their eyes in shock. To their dismay, the Ursaring was running straight toward them!

"Run!"

Without hesitation, the Oinkologne grabbed the two Charcadet with their mouths, flinging them onto their backs, and bolted, hoping to distance themselves from the Ursaring.

However, after running a short distance, they noticed that the Ursaring had changed direction and was now following them, with the swarm of Beedrill still in hot pursuit.

"Oinkologne!"

"Oinkologne!"

The Oinkologne yelled at Ursaring, trying to get it to stop. But the Ursaring played dumb, continuing to trail closely behind them.

Finally, the Beedrill swarm caught up and began launching Pin Missile attacks. In a panic, the male Oinkologne released a pheromone scent from its tail.

The potent, alluring fragrance spread, causing the female Beedrill to lose composure and start fighting among themselves and the male Beedrill.

"Oinkologne~

Everyone, run!

The male Oinkologne shouted as it grabbed the goodboy Charcadet and sprinted away. The female Oinkologne, carrying the crybaby Charcadet, quickly followed.

"Ursaring~"

Wait for me!

Without hesitation, the Ursaring chased after the two Oinkologne.

They ran and ran, not knowing how long they'd been fleeing. Even the typically tireless Oinkologne were beginning to pant from exhaustion.

Suddenly, a desolate wasteland appeared before them. The area was barren—trees were dead, and not a blade of grass grew.

Although it wasn't fully spring yet, other places still had withered grass, and the leafless trees remained alive, ready to sprout once spring arrived. But this area… it was utterly devoid of life, like a land of death.

Just as they were about to step into the lifeless expanse, a voice rang out.

"Do not come any closer."

The voice was gentle and motherly, like the nurturing presence of nature itself.

The two Oinkologne and the Ursaring immediately skidded to a halt.

"Charcadet~!"

The sharp-eyed crybaby Charcadet suddenly pointed excitedly in a direction.

The Pokémon followed the direction of its finger and saw, standing on a nearby hill, a majestic and beautiful Pokémon.

The Pokémon resembled a deer, with dark blue and black fur. Eight antlers extended like branches from its head, each splitting into two. The beige antlers were adorned with crystals in shades of orange, red, purple, and light blue, which shimmered with divine light.

The Pokémon stood gracefully, its head held high, gazing down at the group of Pokémon with an air of elegance and authority.

All four Pokémon were awestruck by the breathtaking beauty and dignity of this creature.

"Do not proceed further. It is dangerous."

The gentle, motherly voice echoed once more in their hearts.

"Oinkologne!"

"Oinkologne!"

The two Oinkologne nodded in agreement, signaling that they would not move forward. Before they could react further, the mysterious Pokémon had disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared.

Was it a dream? Or an illusion?

It took the Pokémon a long moment to snap out of their daze. Looking back, they realized the Beedrill swarm had not pursued them. All four Pokémon let out a sigh of relief.

Growl... Growl...

Suddenly, the male Oinkologne's stomach rumbled loudly.

"Oinkologne!"

The male Oinkologne chuckled awkwardly. After running for so long, it was no surprise that its stomach was growling with hunger.

Growl~~

Another rumbling sound echoed. The male Oinkologne quickly denied.

"Oinkologne~"

That wasn't me this time!

"Oinkologne~"

Hehe, it was me.

The female Oinkologne admitted softly.

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

"Oinkologne~ Oinkologne~"

The four Pokémon exchanged glances, then burst into hearty laughter.

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

Let's find a place to eat.

Suggested the crybaby Charcadet.

Both Oinkologne nodded in agreement.

"Ursaring~~"

At that moment, the Ursaring approached, holding out its honey to the Oinkologne. The two were momentarily surprised but quickly and firmly rejected the offer.

The Oinkologne could easily guess that the honey was stolen from the Beedrill, which had dragged them into this chase.

In other seasons, it might not have mattered, but during this season, flowers were scarce, making it hard for the Beedrill to collect nectar. The honey they stored before winter was their only food source until spring arrived.

By stealing this honey, Ursaring was endangering the Beedrill and their offspring, who might go hungry before spring returned.

The Oinkologne made it clear: they wouldn't touch food acquired in such a way!

Angie had always told them never to take food that belonged to someone else.

After its offering was rejected, the Ursaring's face turned red with anger as it snatched back the honey.

The two Oinkologne turned away, leading the Charcadet to a safe spot where they laid out a picnic blanket. They retrieved the leftover food from lunch from their backpack.

Since the Charcadet had been riding on the Oinkologne's backs, they weren't as tired or hungry. As the food was spread out, the Charcadet cheerfully fed the Oinkologne.

The Oinkologne were so engrossed in eating that they didn't notice the Ursaring nearby, drooling as it watched. Sneakily, the Ursaring approached them, holding out its honey again.

"Ursaring~ Ursaring~"

It seemed to say: What you have looks delicious. Let's trade.

The Oinkologne glared at Ursaring before turning away, presenting their backs to it in silent rejection.

Furious, the Ursaring growled at them, licking its honey angrily while walking off. It didn't forget to bare its teeth at the Oinkologne in frustration.

Suddenly, the crybaby Charcadet let out an excited shout. The beautiful Pokémon that had earlier warned them not to go forward had reappeared in the distance, watching them silently.

The crybaby Charcadet picked up a milky bun and dashed toward the majestic Pokémon, holding the bun high above its head.

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

The majestic Pokémon spoke kindly, its voice tinged with a gentle laugh: "Is this for me?"

"Charcadet~"

The crybaby Charcadet nodded vigorously.

The majestic Pokémon did not refuse. Under the Charcadet's expectant gaze, it leaned down, took the bun, and ate it.

As it chewed, a glimmer of surprise lit up its eyes.

Not only was the food exceptionally delicious, but it also contained a unique power—one that seemed to awaken the life force within its body.

After finishing the bun, the Pokémon watched as the Charcadet danced with excitement, inviting it to join the group for their meal.

The majestic Pokémon smiled warmly and asked, "Will your companions agree?"

The crybaby Charcadet turned back to see the goodboy Charcadet and the two Oinkologne jumping up and down, warmly welcoming this Pokémon over.

Seeing this, the Pokémon said, "Then I will gladly accept the invitation."

It had grown curious about the magical food.

With that, it walked over to the picnic blanket alongside the crybaby Charcadet and lay down gracefully.

The goodboy Charcadet quickly placed buns, steamed rolls, and grassy milk in front of it. The Pokémon lowered its head, grabbed a bun, and swallowed it, chewing slowly. Sure enough, that special energy was still present.

Although faint, it was enough to amaze it. Never before had it encountered anything like this.

After swallowing the bun, it remarked, "This food is incredibly delicious. Whoever made it must be very skilled."

Hearing the praise, the two Charcadets and the two Oinkologne all wore proud expressions.

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

"Oinkologne~ Oinkologne~"

The four Pokémon all spoke at once, excitedly describing how amazing Angie was and how delicious the food he made was.

The Pokémon spoke kindly, "It seems you all truly admire this human names Angie."

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

The crybaby Charcadet spread its arms wide, drawing exaggerated circles in the air to express its immense fondness for Angie.

The two Oinkologne and the goodboy Charcadet nodded vigorously, agreeing with the crybaby Charcadet.

"Is that so?"

The Pokémon's voice carried a trace of amusement as a special energy wave emanated from its body.

Feeling this energy, the four Pokémon all closed their eyes blissfully.

So comfortable! So soothing!

It felt as if their entire bodies were brimming with energy.

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

The goodboy Charcadet invited the Pokémon to visit Angie's home if it ever had the time, even providing directions: it was on the Nebel Plateau, right next to the forest.

The Pokémon asked, "Are you sure Angie won't be upset if I show up uninvited?"

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~~"

Angie would never be upset. He would be delighted to have you as a guest!

The goodboy Charcadet declared confidently.

The other three Pokémon nodded enthusiastically, agreeing with the goodboy Charcadet.

Feeling the genuine affection these four Pokémon held for Angie, the Pokémon closed its eyes and replied, "Alright, I'll be sure to visit when I have the time."

Meanwhile, Angie was still unaware that his traveling Pokémon employees had made an agreement with a Legendary Pokemon.

"You are Pokémon belonging to a human. Why are you here on your own? Do you know where this is?" the beautiful Pokémon suddenly asked.

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

What place? Is there a reason we shouldn't be here?

The goodboy Charcadet looked puzzled.

The beautiful Pokémon shook its head and said, "It's not that you shouldn't be here, but this forest has long been known to the outside world as the Forbidden Forest. Besides the Pokémon that already live here, outsiders—both humans and Pokémon—rarely set foot in this place anymore."

"Charcadet~ Charcadet~"

So, does that mean we can never come here again?

The crybaby Charcadet asked, feeling a sense of reluctance. Normally shy, the crybaby Charcadet found itself feeling inexplicably close to this beautiful Pokémon.

"You may," the beautiful Pokémon replied. "However, you must never go near that place from earlier."

"Charcadet~"

Why not?

The goodboy Charcadet asked curiously.

The beautiful Pokémon shook its head. "Just trust me on this."

The four Pokémon nodded earnestly, promising to heed the beautiful Pokémon's advice.
