Pokémon: Newborn Ash Ketchum – Starting from Hoenn region

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Team Rocket’s Reckless Stand – Conquering Tyranitar

The battlefield was in chaos. Jessie and James stood their ground against the fierce Aron, while Meowth struggled against the restraints holding him down. Dust filled the air, and the tension was at its peak—every second counted in this desperate fight.

"Dammit!" the opposing trainer growled. "Toucannon, use Drill Peck on Meowth!"

Meowth's pupils shrank as the large, beaked Pokémon dived toward him, its spinning beak glowing with energy, ready to strike.

"Not so fast!" James shouted. "Arbok, use Iron Head!"

With a swift motion, Arbok lunged forward, its head glowing metallic as it intercepted the attack.

BOOM!

The impact sent Toucannon crashing to the ground, a cloud of dust rising where it fell.

Click!

Meowth grinned triumphantly as the shackles fell away. "Finally! I'm free, nya!" Without wasting a second, he rushed to release Arbok and Weezing from their restraints.

"Yes! We did it!" Jessie cheered.

"You pests!" the trainer growled, his patience snapping. His eyes burned with fury. "I've had enough of you! Go, Pupitar!"

The Pokémon materialized with a flash of white light, standing firm on the battlefield. But almost instantly, something incredible happened—Pupitar's body was engulfed in a radiant blue-white glow. The air crackled with energy as it began to change shape, growing larger and bulkier. The ground trembled beneath its weight.

"No way…" James whispered in shock.

With a final surge of energy, the transformation was complete. Pupitar had evolved into Tyranitar!

A deep, menacing roar erupted from its throat as it slammed its heavy foot into the ground, sending shockwaves through the battlefield. A fierce sandstorm whipped up around it, making it almost impossible to see.

"A fully evolved Tyranitar…" Jessie's voice trembled. "We're in big trouble!"

The trainer smirked darkly. "I knew this day would come. Now, Tyranitar—Hyper Beam!"

A golden sphere of energy formed in Tyranitar's mouth, growing larger and more unstable by the second. Then, with a deafening roar, it unleashed the destructive beam, the sheer force of the attack illuminating the battlefield like a second sun.

"Watch out!" James yelled.

The Hyper Beam struck, sending all three Rocket members flying into the air.

"WAAAAAH!" They crashed hard against the ground, groaning in pain.

At that moment, another Hyper Beam was fired toward them—but before it could land, a swift shadow darted in front of them.

"Hold on, Pidgeot!"

"Pidgeoooo!"

A massive bird Pokémon spread its wings wide, shielding Team Rocket from the attack. The powerful impact sent a gust of wind flying across the battlefield.

"Ash?!" Jessie gasped.

Ash and his friends ran toward them, their eyes filled with concern.

"I didn't expect you guys to be so brave," May said, clearly moved by Team Rocket's unexpected stand.

Brock and Max also nodded in approval.

"Thank you for your help. You won't be forgotten," Officer Jenny said firmly, then turned to the poacher. "You're finished! Give up now, Aron!"

"Like hell I will!" Aron snarled. "Tyranitar, Hyper Beam!"

Jessie, James, and Meowth glanced at each other, knowing this was their last stand.

"Arbok, Weezing, take this chance to escape!" Jessie ordered, her voice resolute.

"Yeah, we'll hold him back!" James added.

"Time to fight for real, nya!" Meowth yelled.

As Arbok and Weezing hesitated, their trainers nodded at them with trust. With teary eyes, the two Pokémon turned and fled into the night.

"You fools!" Aron screamed. "Tyranitar, finish them off!"

At that critical moment—

"Pikachu, use Iron Tail!"

"Pidgeot, use Steel Wing!"

Ash commanded his Pokémon with precise timing. Pikachu's glowing silver tail struck Tyranitar, while Pidgeot's steel-clad wings sliced through the air.

"Hmph! Tyranitar, sweep them away with Hyper Beam!"

Tyranitar unleashed another destructive blast, successfully repelling Pikachu and Pidgeot, making it difficult for them to get close.

Ash's eyes narrowed. "I see. You rely too much on Hyper Beam. Pikachu, use Thunderbolt to create an opening!"

Electricity crackled as Pikachu fired a massive Thunderbolt, forcing Tyranitar to raise its defenses. Ash seized the opportunity.

"Now! Pidgeot, let's go—Z-MOVE ACTIVATED!"

He held up a shining Steel Z-Crystal, placed it into his Z-Ring, and activated the move.

"Super Spiral Dive!"

Pidgeot's entire body became engulfed in radiant energy, forming a whirlwind of power. It shot forward like a drill, slicing straight through Tyranitar.

A final, earth-shaking BOOM!

Tyranitar collapsed.

"Damn it! You brats! This isn't over!" Aron snarled. He didn't even bother recalling Tyranitar—he simply turned and ran.

"Trying to escape? Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"

"Pika—CHUUUU!"

A surge of electricity struck Aron, making him cry out in pain. Officer Jenny wasted no time—she dashed forward and cuffed him.

"Thanks for your help!" she said gratefully.

Ash waved her off. "It's what we do. But Officer Jenny, can I tame this Tyranitar?"

She hesitated for a moment. "Technically, it belongs to Aron and should go to the Pokémon League. But… if you can earn its trust, I can look the other way."

Ash turned to Tyranitar, who had just regained consciousness. "What do you say? Want to be my partner and become the strongest together?"

"Pika!" Pikachu chirped excitedly.

Tyranitar hesitated. It had never been treated well by Aron, who only saw it as a weapon. For the first time, someone was offering it freedom.

"Tyran…"

With a slow nod, it accepted Ash's offer.

"Awesome! Friend Ball, go!"

After destroying Tyranitar's old Poké Ball, Ash tossed a Friend Ball, ensuring their bond started on the right foot. The ball clicked shut.

"I caught a Tyranitar!" Ash cheered.

"Pikachu!"

Meanwhile, Team Rocket had their own situation to deal with.

"There's a bounty of 100,000 PokéDollars for helping capture Aron," Officer Jenny informed them.

James' eyes sparkled. "One hundred thousand?! Miss Jenny, let's go to the police station right now!"

Laughing, Team Rocket hopped into the police car, their pockets about to be much heavier. Ash, on the other hand, didn't ask for the bounty—capturing Tyranitar was reward enough.

Later That Evening…

At dusk, Team Rocket sat in a forest with bags of food, reminiscing about Arbok and Weezing.

"Do you think they're doing okay?" Jessie asked softly.

"They've fought the twerps so many times—they'll be fine," Meowth assured her.

Suddenly, a rustling sound came from the bushes. They turned to see a small cactus-like Pokémon staring at them hungrily.

"Hey, it's Cacnea!" James said.

"You hungry, buddy?" He held out some food, which Cacnea happily devoured.

James smiled. "How about joining me?"

Cacnea nodded eagerly and leapt into James' arms—and immediately spiked him.

"OWWW!"

And just like that, Cacnea became Team Rocket's newest member.
