"Roar!!"

Onix seemed to agree with Liam's words, letting out a loud roar and nodding its massive head.

Its body twisted and turned, ready for battle.

Seeing Onix's enthusiasm, Liam smiled and pulled out a few bottles of Potion from his bag.

"Onix, your injuries haven't fully healed yet. I don't want to take advantage of you. Here, I have some Potions that can help you recover quickly. Once you're back in top shape, we'll have a fair battle."

Onix's eyes widened slightly at Liam's words. After a moment of thought, it lowered its body to the ground, allowing Liam to treat it.

Liam quickly went to work, pouring the Potions into Onix's mouth and carefully spraying the rest onto the cracks and wounds left by its previous battles.

Onix swallowed the Potions and glanced back at Liam, who was diligently tending to its injuries. A complex mix of emotions crossed its face before it closed its eyes.

Half an hour later, Onix slowly rose to its full height. The wounds and cracks from its earlier battles were gone, and its strength had fully returned.

It was now in peak condition, and its eyes burned with fighting spirit, clearly eager for a fair fight.

"Alright, snake versus snake! You're up, Arbok!" Liam wiped the sweat from his face and excitedly threw Arbok's PokeBall.

"Charbok!!"

Arbok emerged, clearly thrilled at the prospect of another battle.

Ever since its mutation, Arbok had become more aggressive, and its personality seemed to be shifting as well.

"Arbok, this battle is important. Give it your all, and if you do well, there's plenty of Moomoo Milk in it for you!" Liam even resorted to bribery to motivate Arbok.

"Chaaa!!"

Arbok's eyes lit up at the mention of Moomoo Milk.

It nodded eagerly, then turned its attention to the much larger serpent in front of it, eyeing Onix as if it were a giant barrel of milk.

"Roarr!!"

Onix, clearly annoyed by Arbok's gaze, opened its mouth and unleashed a Dragon Breath.

"Arbok, use Dragon Rage!" Liam immediately commanded. This was the first time he'd had Arbok use a Dragon-type move in battle.

"Chaaa!!"

Arbok opened its mouth, and a dragon-shaped energy blast shot out, colliding with Onix's Dragon Breath.

The difference in power was immediately apparent—Arbok's Dragon Rage tore through Onix's attack with ease. If Onix hadn't dodged quickly, it would have been hit directly.

Seeing its attack completely overpowered, Onix roared in frustration and charged forward, intending to crush Arbok with its sheer size.

"Arbok, use Glare, then Acid!" Liam calmly commanded.

"Chaaa!!"

Arbok coiled its body, and the menacing patterns on its sides began to glow.

Onix, mid-charge, suddenly froze as a paralyzing wave of energy hit it. Sparks of electricity crackled across its body.

Arbok didn't stop there. It opened its mouth and sprayed a stream of purple Acid, drenching Onix.

The corrosive liquid caused Onix to roar in pain as it tried to shake off the Acid.

Liam watched the scene with a pang of guilt, feeling like he was bullying Onix. He was about to call Arbok back when Onix let out a defiant roar.

"Roarr!!"

Onix's eyes were filled with determination, and despite the paralysis and the burning pain from the Acid, it lowered its head and charged at Arbok again.

Arbok, however, was ready. It twisted its body, dodging Onix's attack, and then slithered up Onix's body.

Its mouth opened, revealing icy fangs, and it bit down hard on Onix. Frost spread rapidly from the bite.

"Roar!!"

The Ice Fang attack was super effective against Onix, causing it to thrash in pain.

It finally managed to throw Arbok off, but it was clearly exhausted, breathing heavily as it glared at Arbok.

Despite its injuries, the fire in its eyes hadn't dimmed.

"This…"

Liam stood to the side, unsure of what to do. He had thought a battle between two serpentine Pokémon would be fun, but now it just felt one-sided.

Arbok was clearly dominating, and Onix's stubborn pride meant it wouldn't back down. If Liam stopped the battle now, Onix would likely leave without a second thought.

Liam was torn.

Onix, meanwhile, stared intently at Arbok. It knew it was outmatched, but its pride wouldn't let it give up. It had to keep fighting.

"Roar!"

Suddenly, Onix slammed its tail into the ground, releasing a shockwave. The ground beneath Arbok crumbled, and a whirlpool of sand and rocks formed, trapping Arbok in a Sand Tomb.

Arbok, caught off guard, struggled against the swirling sand.

Onix, ignoring its paralysis and pain, gathered its remaining strength and leaped into the air. Its body glowed with a blinding white light as it came crashing down like a meteor.

"Heavy Slam!" Liam recognized the move and winced, knowing how powerful it was. He started to worry for Arbok.

"Arbok, use Dragon Dance!" Liam shouted, unable to hold back.

"Chaarbok!!"

Trapped in the Sand Tomb, Arbok's eyes flashed.

Purple energy surged around its body as it twisted and writhed, breaking free from the sand and leaping into the air.

Onix, meanwhile, crashed into the center of the Sand Tomb with a deafening explosion. The ground cracked and split, showing just how devastating the attack had been.

"Chaarbok!"

Seeing the power of Onix's attack, Arbok let out a roar of defiance.

Dragon energy surged around it, forming the shape of a dragon as it dove down with incredible force—Dragon Rush!

Onix, exhausted and unable to move, looked up at the descending Arbok.

There was no fear in its eyes, only a longing for the strength it saw in Arbok. Knowing it couldn't dodge, Onix braced itself for the final blow.

"Arbok!!"

Liam shouted just as Arbok was about to hit.

Arbok, snapping out of its focus, realized it had gone too far. It tried to shift its trajectory but couldn't stop completely. It crashed into the ground beside Onix, the explosion sending Onix flying.

Arbok shook its head, dazed but unharmed, as it climbed out of the crater.

Liam rushed to Onix's side, pouring Potions into its mouth. Onix, completely battered, weakly swallowed the Potions, recovering slightly.

It looked at Liam and let out a low growl.

Lulu, floating on Liam's shoulder, translated. "It's asking if it will become as strong as Arbok if it stays with you."

Liam blinked in surprise, then smiled warmly at Onix.

"Of course it will!"

"Ggrrrr…"
