Pokemon Dungeon Core

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Lets get started.

the prospect of creating Pokémon in a dungeon is great but hearing that I'll only have access to the weakest of mons and three out of 19 types.

I have no idea of how it chose those three but I will just say my luck is consistent for this life since I can tell while the other types would usually be more powerful in multiple ways, but these three should be great for a start.

I look from the screen and focus again on the crystal, at this point its changed shape to become a crystal Poké ball with mist like mana rolling within it.

on instinct I can tell I need to interact with the Core to make any changes to the dungeon so I reach out to hold it, with it I can feel the world around me as if its a part of my body, I can feel the air and the earth.

My sight allows me to see though the earth and it allows me to see where the surface is as well as the boundary of my Dungeon's domain, Instinctively I can tell it would require mana to expand the boundary in any direction but it would require less to go downwards.

I will say that the Horizontal boundaries are way far away so I can tell it won't be a bother for a while.

Using my new senses I can also tell I can consume the Dirt in the Domain to sculpt the terrain, at the idea of sculpting the terrain I have an idea that would make my Dungeon a menace early on but I have a feeling it might be tricky to pull off right now, but I continue to feel around the sculpting tool and find I can really make any environment from volcano's to ocean's where you can breath the water. . .

The next thing I do is look though the roster of Pokémon I can Summon since that would limit the design of the dungeon, I find the list isn't the best but it does include some interesting options, this is mainly due to the Normal type not having many dual typing's so most of the type's Pokémon are present.

Never really understood the Normal type, I know their meant to be the Generic type good at things but not great at everything besides move diversity, too bad that move diversity is restricted.

I learned that the Attacks the Pokémon I can summon are restricted by their Level so If I wanted to Summon a Minccino for its Tail Slap which is a low level 125 damage attack combo with their hidden trait, I can't since it learns it at level 25.

Another restriction is that if the floor doesn't meet the evolution Level I can't summon a Pokémon's evolved form, so no Slaking spamming it seems, for now.

Mainly because I want to test out the summoning I will the Core to summon a Pokémon at random from the ones I can summon that can fit in this room.

I watch as the ground behind me cracks and like a egg shell a monster pops out of the ground, this certain Monster's form is that of a Big Red rock with multiple Holes highlighted in white, after a second a Yellow Noodle like head peeks out from one of the holes before 4 more yellow nubs appear to allow the Pokémon to walk.

[You have Summoned a Shuckle lv 1]

interesting very interesting.

I ignore the Shuckle for the moment and refocus on the Pokémon list I pick a selection of ones that I feel would be fine for the starting level of a dungeon, I then have a thought, What about TM's and HM's could I get moves from those for the Pokémon, I feel around for the answer and find that there's a restriction of allowing 1 TM or HM per 15 Pokémon levels.

So the earliest he could use a Tm or Hm would be floor 10, that's annoying.

I now focus on the Shuckle who has just been eyeing both the core and the room in curiosity.

Using the energy within the core I aim it towards the Shuckle and go to improve its Level to 5, on instinct I can tell with a glance that the shuckle's form becomes stronger but due to it being a Shuckle its strength goes into its rock like shell, While doing so I realize I can do another thing.

like flipping a Switch the Red rock like form of Shuckle changes like its been covered in a coat of paint to bright Blue.

When I examine the Shuckle I learn more, mainly that I can turn any Pokémon into a shiny variant but the cost is that it becomes what the dungeon would refer to as a floor boss.

When I questioned the meaning for a floor boss the system helpfully explained.

[Bosses and you]

[For an aspiring Dungeon it requires strong Guardians said Guardians are known as Bosses, Said bosses can appear in multiple forms but their distribution is usually defined by the Dungeon's Aspect or Environment.

there are 5 types of Bosses;

Segment Boss: the most common of bosses, these appear every 5 floors at the end of the floor, can be 5 levels higher than the floor restriction (not allowed due to Aspect)

Field Boss: if an environment is large enough a Boss can be created for that specific environment, it can appear anywhere in that environment, can be 5 levels higher than the floor restriction (available due to Aspect)

Floor Boss: This Boss type can appear on any floor and acts as an elite version of a monster that appears on that Floor, There can only be 1 Floor boss per floor, can be 3 levels higher than the floor restriction. (available due to Aspect)

Wandering Boss: This Boss type can appear at any time in the dungeon on any floor with its Level becoming variable depending on the Depth it appears. can be 3 levels higher than the floor restriction, (Available due to Aspect)

Raid Bosses: This Boss type can appear on any floor where there is an over abundance of Invaders, Raid Bosses are extremely powerful and require many invaders to be defeated. can be 20 levels higher than the floor restriction, (Available with Select Monsters due to Aspect.)]

With that new Knowledge I go back to the Dungeon's Sculpting tool and start to create the first floor, while not opening my floor to the surface.
