Pokémon Breeder In One Piece!

Chapter 382: Chapter 382

December 31st – Aincrad

SAO Survivors: 39,000

Trainers: 4,700

Current Floor Cleared: 50

The number of wild Pokémon had dwindled to just 300. These remaining Pokémon were either naturally solitary or hidden in obscure locations, making them difficult to find. However, the majority fell into the former category.

Logically speaking, as the year came to a close, the residents of SAO should have been celebrating the New Year.

But in reality, only the lower and some middle-floor residents observed the occasion. Others were either grinding monsters as usual or actively pushing forward in the game.

For many, celebrating inside SAO was meaningless—they would rather return to the real world and spend time with their families.

As for the clearers, they had chosen this day to launch an all-out assault on the Floor 50 Boss.

Similar to Floor 25's Boss, the difficulty spike at Floor 50 was dramatic.

However, this time, the challenge lay not in the boss's strength but in environmental conditions.

The Floor 50 Boss: Deep Sea Predator consisted of two parts:

The main combat force was the Shark-Serpent, serving as the mount. The Rider, a merfolk hunter, who controlled the Shark-Serpent but was weak in direct combat.

The battle took place in a deep-sea environment, completely submerging the players.

Under these conditions, players could breathe normally for only 10 minutes before running out of air. This meant they had only 10 minutes to defeat the boss.

The immense water pressure greatly restricted movement, slowing down attacks and reducing their effectiveness. Pokémon faced the same limitations—especially land-based ones like Growlithe, which were practically useless in this fight.

The only advantage was that Water-type Pokémon received a significant power boost. They could also carry players underwater, providing mobility and assisting in attacks.

Boss Room Entrance

The strongest players in the SAO clearing group were all present—Madara, Kirito, Zach, Shino, and Asuna.

Standing before the boss room, tension filled the air.

"Stick to the plan."

Madara, their leader, gave a simple reminder before pushing the massive doors open.

Beyond the threshold lay a deep-sea abyss, separated from the outside world by an invisible barrier. The darkness was so absolute that no sign of life could be seen. Some players gulped nervously at the sight.

Madara was the first to step in, immediately becoming weightless as he floated in the water.

One by one, players and Pokémon followed.

As soon as the last person entered, the doors slammed shut.

Two glowing red eyes flickered to life in the abyss. At the same time, the entire sea illuminated, restoring visibility.

A violent whirlpool erupted, instantly scattering the players' formation.

However, no one panicked—this was expected. They had already planned for this.

The Water-type Pokémon carried long ropes in their mouths and claws, swimming rapidly through the water to weave a massive net.

Madara positioned himself beneath the net, eyes locked on the seabed.

These ropes were custom-made by blacksmiths specifically for this battle. They were reinforced to withstand the Shark-Serpent's strength, meant to trap it long enough for the team to deal damage.

Two seconds passed.

A massive shadow rushed up from the depths—the Shark-Serpent, aiming directly for Madara.

When no specific aggro conditions were met, the boss defaulted to attacking the party leader, which in this case was Madara.

With a calm gaze, Madara waited until the beast was close before launching a spinning kick at the Rider.

BOOM!

A deep, muffled impact rippled through the water.

The attack sent the Rider flying, knocking him off the Shark-Serpent's back. At the same time, the Shark-Serpent crashed directly into the net, becoming entangled.

The momentary success boosted morale, though no one had time to celebrate.

A small team of players assisted the Water Pokémon in holding the ropes, keeping the Shark-Serpent restrained for as long as possible.

Meanwhile, the majority of the group swarmed the Rider, aiming to eliminate the weaker target first.

The Rider wasn't the main threat—it was the brain controlling the Shark-Serpent.

If the Rider died, the Shark-Serpent would become nothing more than a mindless beast, making it significantly easier to handle.

At this point, Pokémon had leveled up considerably, gaining stronger abilities and expanded move pools.

[Psychic]

A coordinated strike from Psychic-type Pokémon hit the Rider, locking him in place.

With the Rider immobilized, players and Pokémon unleashed a barrage of attacks.

The Rider was fragile—he couldn't withstand this level of assault.

Three seconds later, his body glowed golden, activating a super armor effect to break free.

He brandished a long blade, attempting to manipulate the water and launch a devastating counterattack.

But before he could act—

[Vine Whip]

Dozens of vines shot out, binding him like a cocoon.

The second wave of attacks began.

The Rider's HP rapidly depleted, dropping to 80%—coinciding with the Shark-Serpent's HP percentage.

This meant the Rider was on the verge of death.

The Shark-Serpent Breaks Free

Meanwhile, the Shark-Serpent furiously chomped at the ropes, eventually creating a large opening.

Seizing the opportunity, it darted through the gap, breaking free from the net.

[Ice Beam]

Over ten beams of icy-blue energy shot toward the Shark-Serpent's tail.

Crack! Crack! Crack!

Before it could react, its tail was completely frozen, rendering it immobile.

The Shark-Serpent sank toward the seabed, struggling to move.

This second control phase by the Ice-type Pokémon bought the team a few more seconds.

Within those few seconds—

The Rider was annihilated.

His body shattered into data fragments, disappearing into the abyss.

The Deep Sea Predator's HP dropped to 79%—indicating the Shark-Serpent was now the sole target.

All players turned their focus to the final phase.

The Final Clash

Ten minutes later.

Exhausted but victorious, the clearers staggered out of the boss room, faces flushed from exertion.

Floor 50 cleared.

The progress bar had officially reached 50% completion.

Battle Aftermath

Total Casualties: 22 Players

Most of the deaths occurred in the final moments, when players failed to surface for air and were struck down by the Shark-Serpent's last attack.

Still, this was a much better outcome than expected.

"We're halfway there."

Kirito collapsed onto the ground, soaked and gasping for breath.

"Yeah… six months in, 50% cleared."

Asuna, equally exhausted, lay on her back, staring at the ceiling of the labyrinth.

One thought lingered in her mind—

If reaching Floor 50 had already cost so many lives… how many more would die in the next 50 floors?

Many mid-level players were still trying to climb their way into the frontlines.

But once they witnessed the harsh reality of clearing the game…

How many would actually stay?

...

Pokémon Island

After mastering Kage Bunshin no Jutsu (Shadow Clone Jutsu), Dak's daily life had become much more relaxed.

At least, for his main body, it was.

Now, he could casually wander around different areas under the guise of "inspecting operations."

Sometimes, he would even take time to spin the magical lottery wheel for fun.

At this very moment, Dak was strolling through the Safari Zone alongside Darkrai.

Occasionally stepping outside to experience the wilderness wasn't a bad way to pass the time.

And whenever he found himself in such moments of leisure—

He just couldn't resist doing a ten-roll draw to test his luck.

[Congratulations! You have obtained: Dark Plate ×1]

"..."

Dak glanced at the solid black rectangular object that had suddenly appeared in his hand.

He raised an eyebrow, his expression showing little reaction.

Darkrai, on the other hand, reacted dramatically upon seeing the object—flailing its arms but unable to form words.

"Here, take it."

Dak casually tossed the Dark Plate to Darkrai.

The latter scrambled to catch it, and after securing it, suddenly calmed down.

[Dark Plate: A plate imbued with Dark energy. When held, the user learns all Dark-type moves, enhances the power of Dark-type attacks, and becomes immune to other Dark-type attacks.]

As for how useful this thing was…

Not very much, honestly.

If this had appeared in the early days, Dak might have been too excited to sleep for a whole night.

But now, it wasn't anything game-changing.

It wouldn't alter the current status quo.

"Dak."

Darkrai, having obtained the Dark Plate, informed Dak that it needed to enter a deep sleep for a while.

"What's the matter?"

"Dak."

"Then take your time preparing for it. Don't worry about me—you know how strong I am now."

Dak waved his hand casually.

Darkrai meant that it needed time to absorb the power of the Dark Plate. Once the process was complete, its strength would break through to the next level.

However, this would take a considerable amount of time.

Hearing Dak's response, Darkrai didn't argue further.

It simply turned around and vanished into thin air, clearly eager to begin.

"So impatient."

Dak shook his head, then lay down on the grass, enjoying the gentle breeze as he gradually drifted off to sleep.

The bustling atmosphere of Alliance City in the distance did not disturb his peaceful moment.

When he opened his eyes again, it was already early morning.

"Ugh… overslept."

Dak sat up, stretching his arms.

Looking around, he noticed that several wild Pokémon had gathered around him, curling up beside him while he slept.

He wasn't surprised.

After all, he was not only popular among humans but also highly beloved among Pokémon.

Taking out his Pokédex, he glanced at the date.

Alliance Calendar

Year 3, January 1st.

"Speaking of which, it's about time this world had a proper ecosystem."

Dak carefully stood up and stretched lazily.

Looking up—

There was no ozone layer in the sky.

Looking at the sea—

There were no marine creatures in the ocean.

Looking at the land—

The earth was lifeless and barren.

How could this possibly be acceptable?
