"Please, Lucario!"
The heated atmosphere surged as Kristin's eyes sharpened like blades, exuding a commanding presence. She suddenly hurled her second Poke Ball.
The Poke Ball cracked open, releasing a beam of red light that struck the ground. Out of it emerged the magnificent Lucario, landing gracefully on the battlefield.
Lucario raised its eyes, locking gazes with Blaziken on the opposite side. Memories of past battles flickered through its mind, and its expression gradually grew solemn.
This battle would be extremely difficult.
But I'll do my best!
"Here it comes—Kristin has sent out her second and final Pokemon!"
"The Pokemon is Lucario!" The host's enthusiastic voice resonated throughout the venue, perfectly timed.
As a widely popular Pokemon, Lucario's entrance was met with a wave of cheers and applause.
But Lucario, its demeanor deadly serious, was bracing itself for the strongest opponent it had ever faced.
"Lucario," Kristin called suddenly.
Lucario turned to face its trainer.
"Let's go," Kristin said again.
Those two simple words seemed to imbue Lucario with boundless strength. It nodded firmly, turning back to Blaziken with a renewed focus.
Kristin took a deep breath, determination flashing in her eyes. A second later, she and Lucario struck a combat-ready pose, fists clenched, eyes locked on Bruce.
She wondered if Master Sugar Ray was watching this match at that moment.
Probably not. After all, the Freshman Student Exchange Tournament was far too insignificant in the eyes of someone like Master Sugar Ray.
A cameraman quickly captured this powerful moment: Bruce and Kristin, staring each other down, fists clenched simultaneously.
Meanwhile, at Cabin 243 in the outskirts of Metropolis,
In a familiar log cabin,
Master Sugar Ray watched the television as the two combatants struck identical poses. He stroked his beard, a satisfied smile spreading across his face.
"Not bad," he murmured.
"Bruce's Blaziken is advancing rapidly."
Master Sugar Ray's sharp gaze had immediately discerned Blaziken's significant progress. Against Sirfetch'd, it had chosen the simplest and most direct method of fighting.
No exaggerated moves—just a basic lift of its arm and a kick to achieve victory.
Accomplishing that required profound martial skills.
Back at the venue,
Seeing both competitors ready, the referee nodded slightly and loudly declared, "Begin the match!"
In terms of type advantage, Lucario was at an absolute disadvantage against Blaziken, facing strict attribute constraints.
But what truly determined the outcome of this battle was the strength of the Pokemon and the strategies of their trainers.
"Close Combat!"
As the battle commenced, Kristin swung her fists and shouted with determination.
Hearing this, Lucario charged like a whirlwind, advancing on Blaziken with astonishing speed. Its fists gleamed with bright white energy, an unstoppable force driving it forward.
Blaziken's gaze was steady. It refused to yield to Lucario's imposing attack, opting to counter with its own Close Combat.
Boom!
The two Pokemon collided fiercely. Punches and kicks flew without the elegant glow of energy waves—just pure, raw combat that ramped up everyone's adrenaline.
In an instant, Lucario's expression hardened as Blaziken's overwhelming strength began to tip the scales.
With a roar, Lucario was sent flying. It performed a nimble somersault mid-air before landing deftly on the ground.
Yet Lucario's condition was visibly poor. Bruises marred its body, and it panted heavily.
Meanwhile, Blaziken remained unscathed, standing as though it had merely completed a warm-up exercise.
"Let's judge this," a commentator remarked.
"Blaziken appears to be holding back—it hasn't shown its full strength yet. It's barely broken a sweat."
"We might as well congratulate Metropolis University in advance for securing first and second place in this tournament!"
As countless spectators speculated, the commentator continued thoughtfully, "Although Lucario still has some strength left, the battle is clearly tilting in Bruce's favor.
"Blaziken remains in perfect condition, leaving everyone wondering about its true power.
"In summary, Kristin has reached a do-or-die moment."
Hearing this, Kristin's eyes sharpened as she commanded, "Quick Attack!"
Lucario dashed forward, lightning-fast, and closed the distance to Blaziken in an instant. Its fists struck out fiercely.
But what happened next left spectators dumbfounded.
Blaziken squinted its eyes, swiftly raising its sharp claws to intercept Lucario's lightning-quick strike—an attack most Pokemon couldn't even react to.
Quick Attack—a technique designed to deliver a strike so fast it was nearly impossible to counter.
Yet Blaziken reacted, effortlessly blocking the assault.
As if replaying an earlier scene, Blaziken calmly absorbed Lucario's blow without fanfare.
"Déjà vu," someone murmured.
But isn't it said that no one stumbles twice in the same place?
At that moment, Blaziken gazed down at Lucario. With a sudden knee strike, it retaliated!
"What?"
Lucario instinctively tried to block the attack, retracting its arms to shield against Blaziken's High Jump Kick.
But reaction was one thing; success was another.
Blaziken's knee, brimming with immense force, broke through Lucario's defenses. The blow sent Lucario soaring into the air before it crashed heavily onto the battlefield like a meteorite.
Boom!
Dust and debris erupted, obscuring Lucario's form.
Kristin clenched her fists as she stared at the smoky battlefield.
The commentator exclaimed, "Lucario took a direct hit from Blaziken's High Jump Kick!"
"It fell hard, shrouded in dust and smoke. Its condition is unknown."
As the dust settled, Lucario's battered form emerged. Despite its trembling frame, it stubbornly pushed itself to stand.
It locked eyes with Blaziken, its consciousness fading but its spirit unbroken.
Lucario—a fearless warrior—hadn't fallen yet.
Kristin's voice wavered as she called out, "Lucario, endure and strike back!"
Lucario's gaze reignited. Flames of unwavering resolve burned bright in its eyes.
United in determination, Kristin and Lucario prepared for a final, desperate assault.
Lucario charged forward, the last soldier in a battle it couldn't win. Its fists, blazing with aura, aimed to deliver one last strike.
Blaziken acknowledged Lucario's courage with a nod. Then, with a sudden burst of power, it launched its attack.
The ensuing storm of energy engulfed Lucario entirely before it could even strike.
Grass clippings scattered, shockwaves rippled across the battlefield, and silence fell over the stadium.
Lucario lay unconscious, its eyes swirled into spirals.
The referee raised the flag. "Lucario is unable to battle! The winner is Bruce!"
The arena erupted in cheers and applause, a tidal wave of sound that drowned out everything else.
Kristin quietly returned Lucario to its Poke Ball. "Thank you for your hard work," she whispered.
In the center of the field, Kristin extended her hand to Bruce.
"I've learned a lot," she said earnestly.
Turning to Blaziken, she added, "Thank you for teaching Lucario a valuable lesson."
Blaziken responded with a playful wave, its strength only hinted at, not fully revealed.
Kristin realized, as Sugar Ray had noted, that Blaziken had fought effortlessly, holding back its true power.
