Pokemon - A real story

Chapter 783: Lucario's Progress

It was not only Primeape and Salamence that were having a hard time in this tide battle. Lucairo and Togetic were also struggling with the range of Pokemons.

Just like Salamence, Lucario also trained and gained valuable experience on Aeus Island. The leader of the Aeus Island had personally trained it in various things.

Lucario seemed to have done an exceptional job as its rank-up condition was very harsh.

All of its stats would be S rank. 3 of its moves should cross level 40 It should learn some water-type moves and then level up one of them to level 40.

Before, it had not been able to level up any of those moves to level 40 and it had also just started to learn some water type moves. So, in the span of just over a month, how did Lucario ranked up to rare rank?

Even with Axel's standard that was very fast.

Flashback, over a week ago,

After gathering all of his Pokemons, Axel proceeded to look at the progress of each of these Pokemons that had gone out for training. He first looked at Pidgeot's progress and was satisfied. Charizard surprised him as it was able to finally grasp the understanding of directions that it needed to master.

But when he looked at the progress of Lucario, he was stupefied. He could already that Lucario had grown far stronger than before just from its aura alone. So, he was curious to see its progress.

Passive move: Aeus energy (Stage II), Aura link (Stage I)

Hidden power: Water (25%)

When he left Lucario for training, it was only an uncommon rank Pokemon. It had also not upgraded any of its moves to level 40 and above and it had recently been training on 'Aqua jet' and 'Water sport'.

But now, not only it had reached rare-rank in over a month, but also upgraded 5 of its moves to level 40. It had also learned a range of moves like 'Life dew', 'Work up', 'Screech', 'Iron defense', 'Ice punch', and 'Earthquake'.

All of these moves were necessary for Lucario and Axel was planning to train it in the future.

But that was not all. As per Axel, the biggest achievement for it was its passive move 'Aeus energy'. It had been upgraded to Stage II.

Lucairo had black potential and it also enjoyed the talents of Axel but even with all those benefits, the progress was just too fast. Axel knew that the leader of the Aeus island would not destroy its foundation for fast progress.

So, what was going on? How can a Pokemon achieve so much in a month?

So, he looked at the description of the moves that it had upgraded first.

Detect (Lucario) (Level 40): The user is able to detect fast attacks from a long range and also short range.

(Level 45): The reaction speed of the user has increased.

Bullet Punch (Lucario) (Level 40): The speed and the frequency of the punches have increased. Its power has also increased than before.

Thunder punch (Lucario) (Level 40): There is a higher chance for the target to flinch from paralysis.

Sword aura (Lucario) (Level 40): The user can now contain the power of aura and create 2 sharp swords made of aura to attack their opponents.

Aqua Jet (Lucario) (Level 40): Its hand and feet are covered in a jet of water to propel it in the opposite direction. The speed of the user will increase for a short period of time.

'Detect' was going to be very valuable during tide battles as Lucario could now sense the attack of opponents more precisely. The reaction speed of Lucario had also increased.

Of course, it could not compare to the reaction speed of Shedinja who was a tier 3 king-rank Pokemon but when it reached those ranks, its dodging abilities would be very high.

The upgrade of other moves was not so significant except for 'Sword aura'. Axel always envisioned Lucairo doing this. Fighting with 2 swords in each of its hands and killing multiple enemies at once. Now, it could progress to his dream.

Even though the upgrade to other moves was not so drastic, it fitted Lucario perfectly. Since it was a fast physical attacker, the chance of the opponent being flinched from paralysis was a bonus. The speed of 'Bullet punch' and its power had also increased which further increased the overall destructiveness of Lucario and finally, 'Aqua Jet' increased the speed at critical moments.

Now, it was time to look at 'Aeus energy'

Aeus energy:

Stage I: This would increase the talent of the user in physical moves and also in physical training. It would also raise the potential of the user.

Stage II: Passively increases the reaction speed, defense, attack power, and overall physical aspect of the user. There will be a leap of increase in every life and death battle. Also increases its mastery over aura and steel typing.

The second stage was going to make a significant impact on Lucario. Not only would this passive move passively boost the physical capabilities of Lucario but also there was a bonus of a sudden increase in physical capabilities in life and death battle. Wasn't this perfect for the upcoming tide?

"Lucario, tell me honestly. How were you able to progress so fast?", asked Axel. This was the main question.

'That old Lucario took me to a special place. He said that the time works differently around there. So I spent around 6 months in that place and reached rare rank.', said Lucario with its aura link.

"Hmm, can that old Lucario take you there again in the future?", asked Axel.

'Yes, but he said that I could only go there a limited number of times.'

Lucario also told how old Lucario trained it. It first wanted to cover all the basic aspects of Lucario. Moves like 'Work up' and 'Life dew' took longer to learn, master, and upgrade as those were status moves and status moves were very hard to upgrade.

So, it told it to learn those first. Moves like 'Earthquake' and 'Ice punch' were purely to act as a deterrence in the physical fight. 'Ice punch' could freeze the target at the time of need and 'Earthquake' would give Lucario time to recover some of its health and stamina at the time of need.

'He said that now I should mostly focus on my steel-type moves and fighting-type moves. Especially steel type moves cause I am better in steel type moves than fighting type moves.'

"Ok, we will think about that in the future."

Flashback End.

###

Lucario and Togetic's POV,

Lucario had become some sort of a tide battle specialist but it was still not very good to fight against elemental rank and pseudo-king rank Pokemons. Gogoat was just around it and it was also doing its best that the kids would get valuable experience.

Meanwhile, Togetic was just not built for tide battles. Most of its moves were for single battles. It was obviously very strong but it didn't have massive AOE moves that could change the tide of the battle.

The position was for Lucario to take the lead and Togetic to defend Lucario from attacks.

The first Pokemon that came to fight with them was an elemental rank rank Heracross. Heracross had attack power but it had low defense. It flew at a low speed and attacked Lucario with a 'Horn attack'. Lucario was constantly using 'Detect' and easily dodged that attack and then used the move 'Thunder punch'. By some luck, Heracross flinched and then Togetic took this time to use the move 'Moonblast' right on the face of Heracross.

The move was already charged. This was a new move that it had learned. There were not many varieties of fairy-type moves. It had still not been able to create any new fairy-type moves.

It knew that this would take some time.

But this didn't end there. It also used a powerful 'Flamethrower' directly on the whole body of poor Heracross. The poor Pokemon immediately died after that. Fairy-type and fire-type moves were its weakness and it had been hit by those moves.

Even though Togetic was not a specialist in tide battles, it was very strong and its moves were also very deadly.

Just when they were celebrating their sweet victory, Lucario dodged an attack. This was Pidgeot and it was using 'Aerial ace' to attack it. The move 'Detect' had been incredibly helpful for Lucario.

Lucario had already used moves like 'Work up', 'Agility', 'Iron defense', and 'Swords dance' to the maximum. Even though 'Iron defense' decreased its speed, it was essential in tide battles.

It first used the move 'Aura sphere' to send a blast of fighting-type energy but Pidgeot was able to dodge it perfectly. It was a flying type Pokemon, focused on speed and it was also an elemental rank Pokemon.

Togetic during this time decided to take on Pidgeot but just as it was about to use its 'Aerial ace' on Pidgeot, another Pidgeot came forward to attack Lucario. This was also an elemental rank Pokemon.

How could Lucario, a rare rank Pokemon, deal with 2 elemental rank Pokemons?

Togetic immediately used the move 'Extrasensory' to attract those 2 Pidgeots to itself. Those 2 Pidgeots were surprised by the sudden change of events but they got their beaks ready and were also ready to attack.

Togetic used the move 'Dazzling gleam' to surround itself with a dense fairy-type energy and then it gave a huge cry and that ball of condensed fairy-type energy exploded injuring both Pidgeots.

Lucario took the advantage of its and managed to use 'Thunder punch' and 'Ice punch' to both of them and one of them got paralyzed.

But how could Pidgeot let all of this happen and just lie down taking all those hits. One of the Pidgeots that was not paralyzed, noticed that Lucario was the weak link and it needed to be eliminated first.

So, it rushed towards Lucario and used the move 'Wing attack'. Lucario tried to dodge it but the speed of this Pidgeot was unnaturally high. So, it was hit by the attack.

Lucario took that advantage and used the move 'Counter' at the same time hurting the Pidgeot.

As Lucario was trying its best to slash the Pidgeot with its aura sword, Pidgeot was also doing it a lot of damage. Lucario was able to dodge most of the moves of this Pidgeot but it was still hit multiple times and it was injured in a lot of places. It was still a rare rank Pokemon.

Suddenly, a flash of thunder came along and hit that Pidgeot. Lucario looked over and found out that Togetic had taken care of the other Pidgeot and used 'Thunder wave' on this Pidgeot to paralyze it.

Lucario took its stance and used the move 'Sword aura' with maximum power.

SLASHHH

That Pidgeot was no more.

Togetic used the move 'Wish' to cure Lucario of its injuries and got ready to fight for the next round.
