Plundering Everything I Want

Chapter 2: System Activated

For a moment silence enveloped them.

Alyssa clearly didn't like Tristan, who controlled a secret gang and was involved in shady business.

But instead of directly rejecting his implied proposition, she shifted the conversation back to the topic he had initially brought up.

"A group of strange outsiders appeared at the West Street warehouse. They stole something from Umbrella. Not only were they pursued by Umbrella's people, but they also triggered the tactical rescue team."

"Did they steal the data?" Tristan asked, his fingers brushing his chin.

His instincts, developed over two lifetimes, screamed that something was off about this scenario. This situation reeked of big trouble.

He needed to check it out himself.

"I'm not sure about that. But you can see for yourself—you're the boss." Alyssa gave him a smile, but it was devoid of warmth.

"I'll go look around then," he said, standing up.

Even though he remained calm on the outside, he had already marked Alyssa as another bitch.

Despite working together for two years, she not only did not accept his advances, but she also did not outright reject him.

She clearly took him as a bootlicker.

'Since you want to be a bitch and take advantage of me, don't blame me for using some despicable means.'

As he passed the bar, his hand slid across the bartender's hips.

"Cindy, how's your father's illness? Improving?"

This Cindy was also a named character in Resident Evil, but she was not particularly lucky.

Cindy's father was ill, and the cost of medical treatment in the United States was astronomical, leaving her with no choice but to seek help everywhere.

By chance, she met Tristan, who generously lent her $500,000—a fortune for someone like her—and put her to work in his bar to pay it off.

The debt kept her trapped, and Cindy could only work slowly to pay it back.

Knowing this, Cindy turned a blind eye to Tristan's wandering hands and subtle advances.

Moreover, Tristan often showed concern for her and didn't do anything excessive to her. As a result, she gradually got used to it and didn't feel much resistance towards him.

"My father's doing much better, thanks to you, boss."

"Thanks to me? It's just a transaction. Anyway, be careful and keep an eye on the place. I'll be out for a while."

He moved away, flashing a casual smile and savoring the feel of Cindy's ass one last time before leaving. Being a true villain was more rewarding than being a hypocrite.

"I'll handle things, boss."

Cindy's eyes were a little complicated as she watched his leaving figure. She didn't hate Tristan—there was even a small part of her that was grateful—but love? That was out of the question.

…..

After receiving the intel, Tristan got into his car and drove back to the factory warehouse.

No sooner had he arrived that gunfire erupted, followed by a loud explosion.

Boom!

The shockwave shook the warehouse, and Tristan understood that this was no longer an ordinary case. To be able to create such a scale was already an extreme crime!

He had already thought of retreating, but since he was already here, he decided to at least pretend to support and see what was going on.

Tristan took out his gun, and when he passed a small alley, he saw two people running towards him. They were dressed oddly, one in a Japanese kimono and the other in medieval armor, like something out of a different era.

Instinctively, Tristan hid behind a wall, pulled out a grenade, removed the safety, and counted the seconds. With precision, he threw it at the approaching figures.

"Careful!"

One of them shouted. Unfortunately, it was already too late.

Boom!

The explosion hit hard, and the man in the kimono was blown to pieces, killed instantly while the armored man survived, but not without consequence.

He slammed into the wall, and his armor rattled under the force of the blast.

Even with protection, the power of the grenade at such close range tore through his insides, displacing organs.

Witnessing this, Tristan didn't rush in. Instead, he raised his pistol, carefully aimed at the armored figure's exposed head, and fired two quick shots—clean, efficient.

Bang! Bang!

The man dropped, lifeless.

This was how Tristan survived the underworld: caution and ruthlessness.

Observing the bodies up close, they seemed to be ordinary, but in the next second, the two bodies suddenly disappeared out of thin air, leaving only two bracelets behind.

Everything happened right in front of his eyes, but he couldn't understand why and how it happened.

Cautiously, Tristan picked up one of the bracelets, and to his shock, as soon as his hand touched it, a voice echoed in his mind—a voice he hadn't heard in over two decades.

[Ding! The system is activating...]

[Charging…]

Startled, Tristan glanced at the corner of his vision, where a system window floated in the air.

One bracelet wasn't enough. For the system to fully charge, he needed both.

Without hesitation, he picked up another bracelet and quickly arrived at the corner of the warehouse next to him.

[Charging complete]

[Infinity System activated.]

[Binding to host and initializing...]

===[Status Window]===

[Host: Tristan Stone]

[Age: 20.]

[Identity: Raccoon City Patrolman.]

[World: Resident Evil]

[Skills: Elementary Shooting, Elementary Combat.]

====================

[The system can be charged by plundering resources from infinite worlds, and the points can be exchanged for items. The host can complete reincarnation missions and earn points upon completion.]

"Is this some kind of infinite one-way flow?"

Tristan asked with some confusion.

[Upon finishing a mission you’ll unlock the Pass to the Land of Death. After completing three reincarnation missions, you can plunder this world’s resources and manage this world as your main domain.]

"It sounds interesting. How do I earn points?"

Tristan stroked his chin thoughtfully. He knew that if he could become stronger, he'd have a chance to survive in this dangerous world. Otherwise, he was bound to end up as a zombie sooner or later.

[Beginner mission initiated: Eliminate the reincarnators who have invaded this world.]

[Reward: You will receive 3,000 points if you kill all of them.]

[Caution: If even one escapes, you'll lose points.]

[Warning: Should you fail, the system will self-destruct.]

[Tip: There are five targets in total, and the remaining number is two.]

The mission details caught him off guard.

For a brief moment, he didn't even have time to curse his luck. He took out his pistol and rushed toward the sound of gunfire.

Along the way, he could see the bodies of members of the Serious Crime Squad.

The team had teamed up with the Special Operations Unit for this mission, which meant this target was no ordinary criminal.

Continuing forward, Tristan noticed brutal knife wounds on the corpses—someone had hacked these men to death. His eyes narrowed. Whoever did this had no mercy.

In the warehouse ahead, he spotted Chris and Jill, both unloading their magazines into a muscular man in a leather jacket.

On the other side, a guy in a black windbreaker was trying to escape but was entangled by the remaining serious crime squad members.

Tristan entered the factory quietly and noticed a wristwatch on the ground. He had already killed two of the reincarnators earlier, leaving three. If this was another reincarnator's watch, that would mean there were only two remaining reincarnators—the same number as the system indicated.

Picking up the watch, Tristan continued to move forward and hid behind a pillar. The man in black hadn't made it past the police line yet. Instead, he was now rushing back toward Tristan, clearly hoping to break through from another direction.

Bang!

However, as the man in the windbreaker hurried to the door, he heard another explosion.

Boom!

The shockwave sent the man flying across the warehouse. He wasn't dead yet, but something strange was happening—an eerie black mist was starting to wrap around his body.

Noticing this, Tristan didn't hesitate.

Without warning, he fired off a volley of shots.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Each bullet tore into the man's body, leaving gaping holes in his chest and arms. Soon, the black mist on his body dissipated.

The clip was about to run empty, but it didn't matter.

Tristan aimed for the head.

Bang!

The last shot punctured the reincarnator's skull, leaving three neat holes in the man's forehead.

It was over.

His eyes were wide open as he died, filled with deep disbelief that someone had ambushed and beaten him to death.
