Chapter 43
Chapter 43 Miscalculation (Part 2)
Baby 520 posted an announcement on the official forum of Shiny Sky, telling everyone that Venus, the goddess of Watery South, was going to give her admirers a chance to compete for her hand in a contest. As Venus had attracted a lot of attention during the “beauty contest”, the anouncement posted by Baby 520 quickly became a sticky post on the first page of the forum.
When Venus thought that everything was ready, she saw Flowing Light get online. She thought, “This shameless bitch.”
Upon noticing that Venus was upset, Baby 520 decided to help her and sent many Whisper messages to insult Flowing Light.
The contest held by Venus began at 8:30 pm. During the first hour of the contest, Venus did not see Bluegreen-Clad get online at all. She felt nevous and thought, “Why doesn’t Bluegreen-Clad come to fight for me? Is it because Flowing Light is here?”
With this in mind, Venus hated Flowing Light even more and lost interest in the contest. She sighed secretly, “It’s useless. No matter how many guys come to fight for me and no matter how many guys praise my beauty, it’s still useless.
“All of this is meaningless, unless Bluegreen-Clad come here.”
Venus felt dejected and even wanted to quit this game and leave this battle arena now. Nevertheless, every time she thought that Bluegreen-Clad might come in the next minute, she felt reluctant to leave.
At 9:30 pm, Bluegreen-Clad logged onto the game. Upon seeing that, Venus felt that her heart skipped a beat.
She thought, “Great, he gets online, so he’s going to see the Private Chat message I sent him.” In order to prevent Bluegreen-Clad from thinking that she just wanted to marry someone better than himself, she had sent him a Private Chat message to tell him that she would wait for him at the battle arena tonight.
She kept telling herself, “Bluegreen-Clad will come to fight for me. He’ll marry me, and I’ll become the first lady of the League of Strong Families and the wife of the city governor of Vermilion Bird City.”
Many players were talking about this matter on the Public Chat channel, and nearly all of them thought that Bluegreen-Clad got online at this hour to fight for Venus.
At 10:00 pm, Bluegreen-Clad still did not show up in the contest held by Venus. Someone had seen him go to find the Celestial Dynasty’s instance NPC after getting online. He seemed to have disappeared since then.
Venus Will Cry felt anxious and sent him a message to ask him what he was doing right now. To her surprise, she received such a message: Busy playing an instance with my wife. Please don’t disturb.
She thought bitterly, “It’s obviously an auto-reply, and the wife he’s talking about must be Flowing Light. Oh, Flowing Light again…”
Venus’ eyes were red-rimmed as she thought sadly, “Why? Does Bluegreen-Clad really like that ugly girl who dares not to show her photo to everyone? I can’t accept this…”
She felt even sadder when the final winner of her contest turned out to be the disgusting man Motherf*cker.
If it was someone else who had won this contest, she would have been able to refuse to marry him. Nevertheless, she dared not to refuse Motherf*cker, a notoriously hooligan. She thought worriedly, “If I refuse to marry him, he’ll hunt me down every day in this game.”
She looked at the other guys around the battle arena. They all remained silent. She sent out a Nearby message: There are still 12 minutes left. Does anyone of you want to fight for me?”
There were many guys around the battle arena, but they all took a wait-and-see attitude toward the incident. Some of her admirers really wanted to try but did not have the courage to challenge Motherf*cker.
[Nearby] Admirer 1: Who doesn’t like a beautiful girl? But this Motherf*cker is fierce. I can never defeat him. If I challenge him to fight, I’ll be slain within several seconds.
[Nearby] Admirer 2: Yes, that guy was really beaten up by Motherf*cker just now. It’s humiliating. I don’t want to be ridiculed after failing to get a pretty girl. That’s double humiliation.
[Nearby] Motherf*cker: Hey, pretty girl, just marry me now. No one here dares to challenge me. Just rest assured. I promise you that you’ll live a good life after marrying me. If you agree to meet me offline and * (some dirty words bleeped out here), I’ll buy you fancy bags and clothes and anything you want.
Venus felt disgusted and thought, “What? This disgusting man wants to make me his sugar baby?”
Venus felt anxious and thought desperately, “I don’t want to marry such a man. Anyone else is better than him. Someone just comes to save me, please!”
[Nearby] Onlooker 1: Tut-tut, did you see that? Motherf*cker just said in front of eveyone that he wants to have a sugar dating with our goddess. What a troubled world~
[Nearby] Onlooker 2: Sigh, nowadays this is nothing new. Lots of pretty girls have sugar daddies in the real life. Ordinary guys like us had better log off and go to sleep now.
[Nearby] Onlooker 3: This is really boring. Another pretty girl ends up with a greasy old man.
Everyone just stood by and did nothing. Venus almost despaired.
Right at this moment, her savior came to the battle arena. It was Son of Heaven.
[Nearby] Motherf*cker: Son of Heaven, why do you have to make trouble for me?
Son of Heaven did not reply. He directly went to apply for a 1v1 fight against Motherf*cker. Son of Heaven was a warrior, and Motherf*cker was an assassin. Both of them were equipped with great non-magical offensive force, but an assassin clearly outshone a warrior in the terms of Critical Damage and Dodge skills. Even though Son of Heaven had great defensive force, he could not avoid falling into a bitter battle.
Venus nervously watched them fight. Three minutes later, she heard a game message.
“The contest held by Venus Will Cry ends, and the final winner is Son of Heaven.”
Motherf*ck angriy left the battle arena while swearing. Son of Heaven ignored him and came up to Venus. He talked to her by sending out a Nearby message: I won the contest.
Venus had never expected this contest to end like this.
She stood up and sent a Nearby message back to him: And a seven-star Yellow Spring Sword.”
This was the last excuse she could use to refuse Son of Heaven. She knew that he liked her, but she never planned to marry him. Even if he had saved her this time, she still did not want to marry him.
[Nearby] Son of Heaven: I’ll give you a seven-star Yellow Spring Sword. I promise.
The onlookers burst into cheers and wished Venus and Son of Heaven a happy marriage, especially members of the League of Strong Families. They all thought that this was a happy ending.
Son of Heaven was also a god-like player of Watery South, albeit not as strong as the legendary Bluegreen-Clad. He was second only to Blooming Pear Tree in the power ranking of warriors and the one with the strongest non-magical offensive force in his gang. Although he did not have a seven-star Yellow Spring Sword now, he was good enough for Venus.
[Public Chat] Little Girl: Get married! Get married! Get married!
[Public Chat] Beating War Drums in Spring Breeze: I’m looking forward to your wedding! Keep it up downstairs!
[Public Chat] Bluegreen Belt: I’m looking forward to your wedding! Keep it up downstairs+1!
[Public Chat] Small Fish Eats Small Shrimp: I’m looking forward to your wedding! Keep it up downstairs+2!
…
Upon seeing that, Venus thought to herself, “Is this the end? Is this the final result I get?”
“No! It’s not!” She stared at her screen and thought, “This isn’t the end for me or the end for Flowing Light and Bluegreen-Clad.”
