Chapter 3: Chapter 3
It was around 11 AM when Peter stopped his power evaluation. With the whole day free, he decided to visit New York City. Peter went to the Forest Hills subway station and traveled to Manhattan. It took him around 30 minutes to reach his destination.
First, he visited Times Square. The bright lights, towering billboards, and the hustle and bustle of people from all over the world filled the air with excitement. Wow, this place is incredible, more louder than in the videos too, Peter thought. So much energy and life.
Next, he made his way to Central Park. The sprawling greenery, serene lakes, and winding paths offered a peaceful contrast to the chaos of Times Square. Peter found a quiet spot by a pond and took a moment to reflect. This is a nice place to unwind. I could get used to this.
After relaxing in the park, Peter decided to see the Empire State Building. He stood in awe of the iconic skyscraper. It's even more impressive in person, how did they bring things up there ?, he thought. New York really is something else.
Feeling hungry, Peter found a small pizzeria and decided to grab some lunch. He walked in and was greeted by a friendly waitress.
"Hi there, what can I get you?" she asked with a smile.
"Hey, I'm not sure what to order. Do you have any recommendations?" Peter replied.
The waitress thought for a moment. "You should try our New York-style pizza. It's a classic and definitely one of our best."
"Alright, I'll have that," Peter said, taking her suggestion.
As he waited for his pizza, Peter observed the cozy atmosphere of the pizzeria. It had a warm, inviting vibe with red-checkered tablecloths and vintage photos of New York on the walls. When his pizza arrived, he took a bite and was pleasantly surprised. This is really good, even better than the pizza I had in my previous life, he thought, enjoying his meal.
After finishing his lunch, Peter decided to explore Greenwich Village. He had heard about Central Perk coffee shop from the TV show "Friends" and wanted to see if it existed. To his disappointment, he couldn't find it. Oh well, it was worth a try, he thought with a shrug.
Satisfied with his day of exploration, Peter returned to the subway and headed back to Queens. He reached home around 5 PM, feeling content and ready to see what other adventures awaited him in his new life.
Peter went back to his house, only to find Uncle Ben waiting for him with a stern look on his face.
"Where have you been, Peter? You didn't go to school today," Uncle Ben said, his voice tinged with disappointment.
"I didn't feel like going to school, so I went out," Peter replied nonchalantly.
"That's not a good enough reason, young man. You have responsibilities," Uncle Ben retorted, his frustration evident. "Where did you go, anyway?"
"I visited New York. I was just sightseeing," Peter answered, trying to downplay the situation.
Uncle Ben and Aunt May exchanged worried glances. Aunt May gently placed a hand on Peter's shoulder. "Peter, we just want you to be safe. Skipping school isn't the answer."
Peter sighed, feeling a mix of guilt and annoyance. "I needed a break. I just wanted to see the city."
"You need to understand that your actions have consequences," Uncle Ben said sternly. "We're only trying to look out for you."
Peter nodded, not wanting to prolong the argument. "I get it. I'm sorry," he said, though part of him felt irritated by the lecture.
I just wanted to enjoy my day. they won't understand that? What am I supposed to do be like the original Peter Parker? No I don't f#cking care about that sh#t, I'm not be like him I will have my fun and in the side I will have my Hero gig. Peter thought to himself.
He went to his room, trying to forget about the argument. As he took out his books and started to do his schoolwork and papers, his thoughts drifted. Alright, let's see what I've got here. Maybe this is a chance to start fresh and actually do well in school this time. These subjects aren't too bad. Physics, biology... I think I can handle this. The quiet routine of studying helped him calm down and refocus. Plus, I've got Peters brain. Maybe they can help me understand things better.
After finishing his work, Peter went downstairs for dinner. The atmosphere at the dinner table was tense, and they didn't talk much while eating. Peter could sense Uncle Ben and Aunt May's concern, but he also felt a stubborn streak within himself.
I know they care, but I need to figure things out on my own. should I start a business ? Nah to much work... I can always rob the thief's and drug dealers. I just need to be carful... Peter thought to himself.
After dinner, Peter cleaned the dishes and took out the garbage. He also helped with other chores around the house. Despite the earlier tension, he wanted to show that he appreciated everything Uncle Ben and Aunt May did for him.
As he took out the garbage, he looked up at the night sky, feeling a mixture of excitement and uncertainty about his future.
I've got these incredible powers now. I need to find a balance between living a normal life and embracing what I'm going to be. Peter thought to himself.
With that thought, Peter resolved to take things one day at a time, determined to make the most of his new life, powers.
