Chapter 564 - 564 Copper Sparrow Altar

Chapter 564: Chapter 564 Copper Sparrow Altar

It was another pair of towering mountainous gates, but these were golden, not the bronze-colored ones below. The divine fire flickering around the Stone Man was extraordinary.

“This isn’t a creature that has just ignited divine flames!” Shi Hao made a judgment—it should be stronger.

He quickly extended his large hand, grabbing the girl in a swoop. He had already caught up; there was no way he would let her go. Seizing her, he retreated at great speed, extremely wary of the Stone Man.

Thankfully, he saw the Stone Man from a distance and wasn’t near it.

“Help, Stone, save this great immortal and return me to my place.” The girl kicked her legs like a fierce little leopard, biting at Shi Hao in an effort to struggle free, displaying an utter wildness.

At this moment, her grace and the aura of a Heavenly Immortal were gone without a trace. She was more like a little ferocious beast, beautiful as a porcelain doll but utterly fierce.

...

Shi Hao was speechless as his fingers glowed, blocking her divine sense transmission to avoid startling the Stone Man.

Of course, he also prepared for the worst—if the Stone Man gave chase, he would leap off this “Heavenly Path” and, even if it meant dying once in the Realm of Virtual Gods, he couldn’t be captured.

“It’s unfair; as a Primordial, you ambushed me. You have no sense of dignity or decorum of the strong. If we had a real fight, I would have blown you away!” The little girl was indignant, shouting fiercely as she waved her arms and legs. Her golden dress was large and ill-fitting on her body.

Her veil had fallen early on, revealing a delicate face. Although she was small, one could tell she would grow into a stunning beauty. She scowled angrily with her upturned nose and glared at him with big eyes.

“You agreed to the terms, so you should honor your word,” Shi Hao said with a smile.

“Just a beast with an extra bone, if you dare have a fair fight with me, I’ll deal with you in three moves, and if I lose, I’ll accept the bet!” the little girl shouted, brimming with confidence, either deliberately provoking Shi Hao or genuinely that confident.

Shi Hao wouldn’t be provoked into letting go; instead, he laughed and said, “You are indeed remarkable. In that last moment, your forehead shone with light. Although you failed to unleash divine skills, you emitted a heart-palpitating aura. Could you also be a ‘Primordial’ possessing a shocking innate divine art?”

“Dare to fight me? I’ll let you use one hand and blow you away in three moves!” The little girl bared her teeth fiercely, her delicate porcelain-like face filled with provocation.

“Little thing, don’t try to goad me; it’s useless!” Shi Hao flicked her forehead, giving her a flick that brought tears to her eyes.

“Ow, that hurts so much, you beast, I’m not finished with you!” The little girl screamed in pain, clutching her head and howling as tears almost fell.

Shi Hao chuckled heartily, this genius girl of the Immortal Academy was indeed unique—graceful and noble in calm, sharp and swift in battle, now so genuine and wild, and nearly crying from pain.

Carrying her, Shi Hao returned to the Copper Sparrow Altar, continuously using his hands that radiated light to seal her power.

“Beast, I’ll remember you, remember this—my name is Feng Wu!” the little girl shouted fiercely, her big eyes sparkling with indignant light.

“What can you do if you remember me?” Shi Hao teased, pinching her pert nose and stretching it outwards.

“I’ll eat you!” the little girl shouted bitterly.

Shi Hao laughed loudly, his other hand reaching out to pinch her slightly chubby, smooth and delicate cheek, kneading it vigorously until it was misshapen, infuriating her to the point of rage.

“Just you wait!” the little girl seethed. Then… she unexpectedly turned into a rain of light, vanishing from Shi Hao’s hands in a flash.

“Huh?” Shi Hao was stunned. He had certainly sealed her, so how could she have escaped?

In his palm lingered a crystalline mini sword, only as long as a finger, bright and spirited, bursting with rosy light. Had she dissolved her physical from with a secret technique to escape?

Shi Hao was dumbstruck. Feng Wu was indeed decisive, but he also remembered that this was the Realm of Virtual Gods, where she could still come back to life, lively and kicking, in the real world.

“I’m livid! Since my emergence, Feng Wu has been undefeated and unparalleled, never suffering such a grievance. To dare pull my nose, pinch my face, I’m not done with you!” A ferocious tirade came from the distance, where the light rain, like lightning, faded away, momentarily taking the shape of a girl in a rage, teeth bared and claws outstretched at him.

Shi Hao was amazed; the girl was indeed formidable, able to manifest an image even after dissolving her form and bearing a grudge for such minor grievances such as pulling her nose and pinching her face, while seeming to forget that he had captured her.

Shi Hao used the giant Peng bird’s technique and pursued forward, attempting to capture the light rain, but he was too late. The entity was intangible and rapidly entered the Golden Gate.

“Beast, remember this—I, Feng Wu, have never suffered such a loss. I’ll definitely beat you into a disgusting worm and eat you!” Feng Wu ran off in a fury, and of course, that light rain could only stay formed for so long before quickly dissipating, destined to return to the real world.

“Honor the bet, or else I’ll come looking for you at the Immortal Academy,” Shi Hao shouted. He didn’t dare to follow, keeping watch over the Stone Man, ready to flee.

Strangely, despite the Stone Man’s blazing divine flames, it remained silent and motionless, seated there as if devoid of the breath of life.

On this side of the Golden Gate, the land was vast, with imposing mountains and divine waterfalls cascading thousands of feet high, as if mimicking everything in the real world, suffused with Immortal Qi.

“Hey, did you see that? That rain of light seemed to be the Immortal Academy’s Feng Wu transforming. Was she slain by someone?”

“Impossible. How powerful is Feng Wu? She is invincible in this area. Just yesterday, she even slew a thousand-year-old water dragon. Who could contend with her?”

Beneath a mountain of shimmering purple qi, a group of young warriors paused, looking perplexedly in the direction where the light rain had disappeared.

“But I’m sure I saw her, and that voice was exactly the same,” one person insisted, confident they hadn’t mistaken.

“That makes no sense. You know, she’s from the Celestial Immortal Academy, has cultivated the Immortal Light, and is invulnerable to all methods, never losing to any opponent.”

“Indeed, I heard she even pursued to kill a Primordial from the spirit race. After several encounters, she gave the entire race a headache,” another chimed in.

The group of young warriors discussed, finding it hard to believe it was Feng Wu, for her exceptional talents made her too formidable.

When these Cultivators brought up the beautiful woman who resembled a Heavenly Immortal, all of them were thrilled. On ordinary days, she was dignified, elegant, luxurious, and generous. However, once she made a move, she was truly like a female True Dragon—wild and unrestrained—crushing everything in her path and causing people’s hearts to tremble.

“I heard that in search of a suitable mount, she once confronted geniuses from some of the strongest races. If it hadn’t been for someone intervening, she would have almost succeeded.”

“Really? That actually happened?”

“This is confidential information. It’s said that she went to the Zhen Biao’s domain and even ambushed the young master of the White Tiger Clan, and she also…”

“Silence! Do not speak carelessly of such matters, or we may all suffer deadly consequences!”

“This… is indeed the Feng Wu of the Immortal Academy. She’s as formidable as the rumors, so overwhelmingly strong that it leaves one speechless. And now it seems that she has done even more than the legends suggest.”

Shi Hao watched for a long time, noticing the Stone Man did not move. He was perplexed, then turned back to the Copper Sparrow Altar and transmitted his voice to the old men on the opposite black mountain.

“Do I have to fight my way into those Golden Gates?”

“Yes, you must kill your way in, only in this way can you defy the heavens and obtain the precious bronze book,” Bird Grandpa nodded.

“Are you mad, asking me to confront a Divine Spirit?” Shi Hao’s eyes widened. Even with his confidence, he wouldn’t do something so preposterous.

“What, there’s a divine being blocking the way ahead?” Coin elder was surprised, slightly stunned.

“You two old swindlers, do you actually have no idea what’s going on with those Golden Gates, and you’re just fooling me?!” Shi Hao fumed.

“How could we not know? According to our memory, you must break through that gate. We just didn’t realize it would be so perilous,” Bird Grandpa explained.

On the opposite side, the black mountain was already full of people. All the Cultivators had witnessed the recent battle and were extremely shocked. It was unbelievable that even someone as strong as Little Stone could meet his match here.

The woman was absolutely powerful, able to evenly match him in battle, equally matched in strength.

Shi Hao said nothing and once again followed the bluestone path toward the Golden Gate, observing repeatedly. Seeing the Stone Man had no signs of life force, he couldn’t help but try to make a move.

He plucked a strand of hair, imbued it with Divine Power, and flicked it out. Although it was just a strand of hair, it was now like a black bolt of lightning, emitting a piercing screech as it shot forward at an incredible speed.

Pop!

When the hair strand neared the Stone Man, it exploded directly into powder, with the Divine Power infused in it burning into light and dissipating into the void.

Shi Hao was ready to flee, even if it meant jumping off the bluestone path suspended in the void. However, he discovered that the Stone Man had still not moved an inch.

He stopped in his tracks, puzzled, and said, “Could this just be a Stone Statue, akin to a Magic Artifact, Guarding this place and not initiating an attack?”

On the other side of the Golden Gate, the group of young Cultivators, after discussing, couldn’t restrain their curiosity and made their way over, standing indecisively in front of the huge gate.

“What are you guys doing here? Don’t tell me you want to visit the Copper Sparrow Altar to catch the descendants of the Ferocious Beasts?” A passerby asked.

“How could that be? No Ferocious Beast has climbed up here in tens of thousands of years—we are just curious and wish to pay respects to the historical site,” one laughed.

“That doesn’t quite add up. You all look rather odd, is there something else?”

“You might not believe me if I say it, but I think I just saw the Feng Wu from the Immortal Academy rushing out from there,” someone murmured quietly.

“What, let’s go see!”

On the Copper Sparrow Altar, Shi Hao pondered. He tried several attempts, but the Stone Man did not stand up; it only passively neutralized the attacks. He was assessing whether he could break in.

“Huh, more people!” Shi Hao looked up surprised, noticing a troop of beings.

“Oh my god, that is…” The group had just walked over and suddenly saw Shi Hao. Someone pointed toward him and shouted in astonishment.

“I’m not seeing things, am I? After tens of thousands of years, has another descendant of the Ferocious Beasts climbed up here? This is huge news that will cause a sensation!”

“It seems we were not mistaken earlier. Feng Wu really did come here. This is an earth-shattering incident; we must hurry back to report and spread the news.”

Shi Hao smiled broadly, his white teeth shining as he approached them.

Meanwhile, at the Celestial Immortal Academy, a woman wearing a golden dress, glowing all over with snow-white skin, suddenly awoke, filled with indignation.

“Ah, junior sister, you’re awake. Why do you look so angry, as if you’ve hurt your Primal Qi?”

“I’m so mad, he dared to pinch my nose and pull my face! One day, he might actually come to the Immortal Academy, right?”
