Chapter 89: Chapter 89
Chapter 89: Why Is This Girl Blushing?
The morning after arriving in Spirit City, Zhao Ling woke to the sight of the stunning beauty sleeping peacefully in his arms. He couldn't resist bending down to kiss her soft, red lips. Just as he contemplated taking things further, a knock interrupted his thoughts.
*Knock, knock...*
Sighing, Zhao Ling carefully slipped out of bed and called out softly, "Who is it? What's the matter?"
A familiar, gentle voice replied from outside the door: "Brother Ling, it's me. The teacher asked me to bring you to see him."
"Alright, give me a moment."
Zhao Ling quickly dressed and went to gently wake Ah Yin, who was nestled beside him. She had barely fallen asleep two hours earlier, completely exhausted after their late-night activities.
When Zhao Ling kissed her between her brows to wake her, she stirred with a faint groan of irritation. "Hmm... I'm so tired..."
"My dear wife," Zhao Ling whispered soothingly, "I need to meet the Pope with Dong'er. You rest here, alright? If anything happens, use the *Heavy Rain Pear Blossom Needle* I gave you."
Ah Yin, still half-asleep, nodded lazily. Zhao Ling had purchased a bracelet-shaped storage soul guide during their journey, specifically for Ah Yin. Now she could carry her belongings—and the Heavy Rain Pear Blossom Needle—in her storage space.
"Mmm, okay, husband," she murmured, already drifting back to sleep. Her quiet snores soon filled the room again, leaving Zhao Ling shaking his head with a smile.
After washing up, he left the room and opened the door to find Bibi Dong waiting. Without hesitation, he leaned in and kissed her lips lightly.
"Good morning, Dong'er," he said with a smirk. "If you keep throwing yourself into my arms like this, don't blame me for taking advantage of you."
Bibi Dong blushed slightly but didn't protest. Instead, she adjusted her expression and replied, "Brother Ling, did you rest well? The teacher is waiting for us, so let's not keep him waiting."
As they walked, Zhao Ling cast her a curious glance. "Dong'er, your teacher didn't make things difficult for you yesterday, did he? If he did, just let me know. I might not be able to take on the entire Spirit Hall, but I can definitely knock a few of his teeth out."
Bibi Dong's cheeks flushed a deep crimson, and she quickly looked away, her fingers nervously twisting together.
"No, he didn't embarrass me... And, um..." She hesitated, recalling her teacher's surprising words from the previous day.
"And what? Why are you blushing? You didn't blush like this when you threw yourself into my arms before," Zhao Ling teased, genuinely puzzled.
Bibi Dong lowered her head shyly and mumbled, "My teacher said he wants to personally choose a date for our engagement. He also mentioned hoping that when we have children, at least one would stay in the Spirit Hall."
"What?" Zhao Ling stopped in his tracks, staring at her in disbelief. "Say that again?"
Bibi Dong repeated herself softly, leaving Zhao Ling stunned. Unable to process the revelation, he instinctively summoned his diary and began to vent.
---
[Zhao Ling's Diary Entry]
[What the hell is going on? Dong'er just told me that Qianxunji wants to arrange our engagement?]
[Is there something wrong with my ears, or has that old guy finally lost his mind?]
[I came here prepared to face off with Dong'er's teacher, and now she's telling me this?]
[Clearly, the butterfly effect from my arrival in Douluo is growing stronger. Dong'er no longer loves Yu Xiaogang, and Qianxunji won't imprison her because of it. Maybe she can avoid the fate of being violated.]
[That's great for Dong'er, but... does this mean Qian Renxue might never be born?]
[Losing Tang San doesn't bother me—Ah Yin is my wife now, so there's no place for him here. But Qian Renxue... she's a talented and beautiful girl. It feels like a shame she might not exist in this world.]
[Still, the most important thing is that Dong'er won't suffer that horrible fate. Whether Qian Renxue appears or not depends on her own destiny.]

Zhao Ling clicked "upload" on his diary, and the system rewarded him with a lower-grade Xuan-level magic item: the "Cloud Piercing Shuttle."
Reading its description, Zhao Ling realized it was a flying vessel capable of traveling 3,000 miles in a day—far faster than the carriages and ships commonly used on the Douluo Continent.
"If only I'd had this earlier," Zhao Ling mused. "We could've made it to Spirit City in just over a day instead of taking five or six."
However, the "Cloud Piercing Shuttle" required a power source. While it had a built-in spirit-gathering array for slow energy replenishment, using Spirit Stones would be far more efficient. Unfortunately, Spirit Stones were scarce in Douluo.
"Typical stingy system," Zhao Ling muttered, shaking his head. "Couldn't it have sent a few hundred Spirit Stones along with the shuttle?"
With a sigh, he pushed the thought aside and turned his attention back to Bibi Dong. Sliding his arm around her slender waist, he smiled.
"Alright, let's not keep your teacher waiting. Since he's being so gracious, we should show him proper respect."
Bibi Dong nodded, leaning into him as they walked downstairs. Her mind, however, was preoccupied with the diary update she'd just read.
---
Bibi Dong had seen the name Qian Renxue in a previous diary entry, where it claimed that Qian Renxue was the daughter of herself and her teacher.
The thought left her deeply conflicted. While part of her regretted the possibility that Qian Renxue might never exist, she couldn't bring herself to regret her decision to love Zhao Ling.
She wanted to give her heart and body to someone she truly loved—not to endure the humiliation of being violated by her teacher, only to give birth to a child she could never truly accept.
With a heavy heart, Bibi Dong resolved to let fate decide Qian Renxue's existence. For now, all she could do was focus on the present and the man she had chosen.
