The dishes were mostly light or strong, prepared to be sent to Zhao Qingqing. Ye Muyu couldn’t help but worry whether yesterday’s incident was a result of her own involvement, for the Lin family was more eager to deal with her than Zhao Qingqing. Feeling uneasy, Ye Muyu personally made some appetizing dishes, hoping that they would agree with her appetite.

The other portion she kept warm in a pot, instructing the servants to take it to the yamen before noon.

“My lady, may we learn how to cook the dishes you just made?” Chef Zhang and the Kitchen Maid asked with hesitation.

“Be mindful of the expenses for the entire kitchen,” Ye Muyu admonished them with a couple of sentences before walking out of the kitchen.
