CHAPTER 33: Convergence
The morning sun filtered through the dense canopy, casting dappled light on the forest floor. Blue sat cross-legged on the ground, eyes closed, deep in meditation. The tranquil sounds of nature surrounded him-birdsong, rustling leaves, and the distant murmur of a brook.
"Focus, listen, sense where everything is coming from," Ayaan's calm voice instructed from nearby.
Blue took a deep breath, trying to follow Ayaan's guidance. He reached out with his senses, attempting to feel the flow of the planet's energy. Slowly, he began to perceive the faint hum of life around him, the subtle vibrations of the earth, the whisper of the wind.
Ayaan observed Blue with a mix of curiosity and admiration. "Wow," he thought, "to think he would absorb the energy from the planet. You've really intrigued me, Blue."
Blue's breathing steadied, and he felt a warm, gentle current of energy enveloping him, connecting him to the world around him. He opened his eyes, a newfound clarity shining in them.
Meanwhile, far from the serene forest, a different scene unfolded in the cold, sterile environment of Luchos' lab. Morin sat strapped to a chair, a thick wire protruding from the back of his head, connected to a massive computer. The room buzzed with the sound of machinery and the clicking of keys as Luchos worked diligently, his fingers flying over the keyboard.
Dorothy entered the lab, her expression as emotionless as ever. "How's the progress?" she asked.
"It's almost done," Luchos replied without looking up. "I'm just installing the last files into his head. Once completed, he will be able to absorb energy from nature and use it as his own power."
"Good," Dorothy said. "When will it be ready?"
"Don't worry," Luchos assured her. "It will be done in 3, 2, 1... Done." With a final keystroke, he disconnected the wire from Morin's head.
Dorothy walked up to Morin and knelt before him, her gaze cold and penetrating. "You have a very important task to do," she said quietly. "If you somehow fail, your head will explode and you will die. So make sure you complete your mission."
Morin, still dazed from the procedure, looked at her. "What's that?" he asked, his voice hoarse.
Dorothy's lips curved into a chilling smile. "Kill Blue."
Morin's eyes widened, and a shiver ran down his spine. The weight of the mission settled heavily on him as Dorothy stood and walked away, her footsteps echoing ominously through the lab.
