Chapter 126: Unorthodox Training
Shawn POV:
That night I came up with a plan. It was full of holes, and I could possibly lose two of my recruits if this went sour, but I felt the reward was well worth it. I could potentially knock two birds with one stone with this.
General POV:
Knowing their leader, each member quickly went to bed in anticipation for whatever training he cooked up. Leslie, who saw what bioelectricity did for Virginia, was eager for the upcoming training that she had her mind dead set on putting her all into.
It was well into the night, when a cold, metallic hand covers Leslie's mouth, jolting her awake. She looks in confusion, until she recognizes S3bastian. He motions for her to follow him and leaves their dorm without waiting for her. She looks around to see everyone else still sleeping and hesitates. Of course, she knew that S3bastian was her superior, but she still couldn't bring herself to trust him. Rose's advice on the omnic weighed heavily on her thoughts before she made the decision.
Careful to not wake anyone else up, she moves over to Marco. She shakes him awake from his snoring.
"Huh?" He asks still disoriented from sleeping. She ignores the drool on the side of his mouth.
"S3bastian wants me to follow him in the middle of the night. I don't know where Specialist Rose is, so I have to rely on you to do me this favor and tell him of where I am in case something goes amiss." She explains to Marco.
He, not one to miss an opportunity, immediately fully woke and understood what was needed of him.
"Don't worry, I won't let that tin can do anything to you." He tells her. She nods, wondering what more she could do. Not being able to think of anything, she heads out the dorm door to find S3bastian waiting on her.
"Shawn has decided that your training will be conducted individually. He sent me to direct you to where your training will be." He offers a handout to her. She makes no attempt to take it, as she thinks about what is to happen.
She knew that within the next few days, they were scheduled to head out to liberate the next couple of cities. Meaning, if something happened, she would receive no help.
"Respectfully sir, I'm going to decline until Specialist Rose comes to get me himself." Leslie says.
She blinks and S3bastian is directly in front of her, looking down on her. Before she can react, she can feel the barrel of what she immediately knows to be a gun pressed against her stomach.
"You were always the smartest one Leslie. Don't be stupid now." He warns.
Leslie panics, but realizes the situation she's in and complies, letting S3bastian pick her up. He doesn't bother saying anything else, picking her up and running towards the wall. Marco, who witnessed the whole thing, comes from behind the rubble that he was hiding worried. He needed to report this to someone and fast. A voice from behind him scares him out of his wits.
"Shouldn't you be sleeping?" He turns to see Specialist Rose right behind him. Knowing he has no time to waste, he tells him everything.
Shawn's face grows serious as Marco tells the story. "That isn't good. We can't waste any time alerting the rest of the team. You and I will have to handle this one on our own." Shawn says.
Marco begins to worry. "What...what will we have to do?" He asks.
"Put S3bastian down."
Meanwhile, S3bastian was carrying Leslie at extreme speeds through the forest. She had no idea what was going on or his intentions, but she was desperately trying to keep any advantage she had, if she had any.
The night sky did nothing to reveal the location of where they're headed. She could only tell that they were a good distance away which is bad news for her. As much as she tried, she couldn't come up with a good plan on how to get out of this. She didn't even know what he wanted.
After a couple more minutes Sebastian stops, throwing her down. She stands, brushing the dirt off her uniform while taking a look around. The lack of something confirmed her suspicions all along.
"He's not here, is he?" Leslie asks without turning back to S3bastian.
"You already knew that but it's not like you had much of a choice in the matter though."
"So, what do you want?" She asks finally turning to him.
"Seeing what bioelectricity turned even little Virginia into, I began to realize that maybe my brethren were right. I've decided to take action. You must not be allowed to learn bioelectricity."
"Oh yeah. You may get rid of me, but I know Shawn will stop you." She says defiantly.
"Sure, but at least I have one less problem." Finished saying that, he raises his weapon.
