Chapter 3: World Enemy Event 1
It's been a year since this game was officially released. The game is now officially getting popular, people are praising it for the great freedom it gives on their websites and more and more people are starting to play it. I did my XP grind almost non-stop, in the beginning I didn't meet anyone because there were only a thousand people in the game, but slowly after the beta the number of players started to grow. I gave all the levels I gained to racial levels first, because racial levels are essentially stat boosts, and I boosted my racial class before the Heteromorph player hunting frenzy started. The game is now officially popularizing, people are praising it for the great freedom it gives on their websites and more and more people are starting to play it. I'm starting to see other players more often, and thanks to my constant XP grinding I'm now second in the world rankings. But no one recognizes me because I made a new ring that hides my character information. I'm in a dungeon right now, next to the boss room. Now a question may come to your mind. 'Why attack a dungeon alone?'. There are two reasons for this:
1) There are only tree monsters in this dungeon, so they are quite weak. Their only good feature is their high health.
2) this dungeon is not very high level, so with a little effort I can finish it.
Wasting no time, I open the door to the boss room. There are big rocks on the sides of the room and a huge tree in the center. As soon as I stepped inside, the tree glowed and showed its true form:
[Dungeon Boss: Ansestor Willow lvl 45]
Obviously the Boss is almost ten levels above me, but I'm confident. I immediately start raining spells on the Boss:
[Maximize IV level Magic: Shock Lance]
Immediately, Lightning Lance appeared on Boss, not only immobilizing him, but also inflicting continuous burning damage.
[Tripled IV level Magic: Grand Fireball]
There were three big explosions on the monster and two of them caused critical damage. When the chain spell wore off, the monster attacked me with whip-shaped vines. I immediately ducked behind the stones and the vines did not cause any damage on me.
I've resumed these attacks:
[Extended V level Magic: Dragon Lightning]
The monster is fixed back where it was, and I jumped at the chance:
[Maximize VI level Magic: Flame Wing]
A huge wave of flames rose from under the tree, enveloping it completely and causing continuous high damage. By this time the creature's health had dropped below fifty percent, so it moved to the second stage and attacked me with its new spell, breaking the flame chains. Thorny vines rose up from under my feet, pinning me in place and inflicting poison damage. But I immediately used the antidote and replenished some of my MP-min with the potion, at which time the monster launched huge poisonous explosions of seeds and AOE attacked me.
This put me in a bit of a pickle, so I teleported to the other end of the room, drank the life potions to replenish my HP and launched my next attack.
[Tripled IV level Magic: Shock Lance]
Three crackling lightning bolts appeared around me and struck the monster at lightning speed. One of the spells dealt critical damage and the monster froze, suffering the [Shocked] status effect. I continued my attack.
[Tripled V level Magic: Dragon Lightning]
Three orbs of lightning exploded around the monster and this attack consumed all the remaining MP, but it now had five percent of its health left. For the final blow I used the spell scroll:
[Tripled IV level magic: Burn Lance]
At the last moment, the monster defended itself with the vine shield it had created, but a blow struck and that was the end of it.

Meanwhile, a new event was announced in the cash shop. New items have appeared in the Gacha system:

This product was incredible and I wasted no time and pressed ×20 Gacha
+7 hourglass
+5 rare data crystals
+3 high quality HP potions
+4 high quality MP potions
+1 Phoneix Ring
I couldn't believe I had won this ring and I rubbed my eyes a second time, but it was real. I immediately put the ring on and started flying towards the city, I was pretty sure that I would surprise the enemies with it.
As soon as I came out of the dungeon, I was suddenly critically damaged and lost a third of my HP. When I looked behind me, a man in a black hoodie, clearly of the Assassin class, attacked me with daggers in his hands. I immediately countered his attack with the [VI tier magic: Wall of Hell] spell. The Assassin crashed into a huge wall of fire and not only lost some of his health, but also gained the [Burn] effect, which causes continuous fire damage. I immediately counterattacked with [Masimize V tier magic: Undying Flame], a fireball infused with negative energy that blasted the enemy into the air.
"Damn you, you bastard. Your spells cause a lot of damage, which proves that you are a high level player. But I'm not afraid of you, I'm already aware that my first attack did you a lot of damage."
I was aware that he was waiting for his special attack to cool down, babbling to buy time, so I continued my attack: [V tier magic: Dragon Lightning], [V tier magic: Dragon Lightning], Lightning in the form of a dragon hit the assassin and shocked him, and I used [V tier magic: Teleportation] to get away from him immediately because his attack was going to cool down soon. As I thought, as soon as he came out of the shock, he immediately started running towards me and I escaped from him with a flying spell. I was obviously playing with him and after a few minutes he started cursing and saying unnecessary words emphasizing that I was a chicken that ran away, as if he was the one who started the war by attacking me from behind. After replenishing my health points with potions, I got fed up with the cat and mouse game and started raining spells on him from a distance: [Tripled VI tier magic: Flame Wing], showering the enemy with three fireballs, but the Assassin's speed allowed him to dodge two of them and the last one critically damaged him. I used [VI tier magic: Summon Undead 6th tier] to prevent him from escaping and pin him in place, and a mid-level undead immediately attacked the enemy. I spammed [Flame Wing] and this time he couldn't dodge my attack and even if he did, he was attacked by the undead and died.
[You killed Human player]
[level up 42--43]
[You obtain Top-class dagger {Speed of Death}]
You suffered negative effects :
[-10% Agility, duration- 10 minutes]
It was my first player kill, and as I expected, I suffered some annoying negative effects, but I leveled up thanks to the good amount of exp I got, and I was going to grind that knife for data crystals.
___________
One year time jump:
I've been playing the game for 2 years, I was currently first in the game ranking. Everybody searches for me on the internet, but none of them get any information other than empty rumors. That's because the first item I paid to customize, the [Top-class item: Mistic] ring, hid all the information about me from others, limiting my power and making me look weak. This ring was my customized version of the [Ring of Shadow Assassin] ring, and it gave me the choice of how much of my power to conceal. I found two more [World-class] items that were not among the twenty, but they have the following powers:
[Nameless Book of Spells: A book said to be inscribed with every Tier Magic spell in existence, from YGGDRASIL and it is capable of inscribing new spells in itself as they are invented.]
[Master of Amnesia: An item that can create an effective spell that gives the user a great deal of control over the target's memories. When used on an NPC, it can even greatly manipulate information stemming from the NPC's backstory as determined by its creator.]
There is now a craze among players to kill Hetemorph players. That's why Hetemorph players started playing in the realms of Niflheim, Helheim, Muspelheim. Because the climates of those realms are very unfavorable and this creates difficulties for human players.
We are currently attacking the dungeon with a party of six, made up of independent human and humanoid players. The party consisted of a healer (lvl30), two tanks (lvl32;34), an archer (lvl33), a warrior (lvl35) and myself as a mage. Thanks to the ring, I had changed my appearance to human, changed my name to {xReaperx} and sealed my power to make me 40 lvl, but I was still the highest level player in the party, so I was unanimously given the leadership of the party. There was the following information about the dungeon:
[50Lvl Dungeon: Fallen Church]
According to the information we gathered, this was a tough dungeon with holy monsters like angels, so I was attacking with a party.
"Reaper-san, our preparations are finished and we are ready for battle," the archer declared.
"Then let's waste no time and attack according to the prearranged plan."
Everyone nodded in agreement and our assault on the dungeon began.
The first enemies we encountered were level 30 angels. I didn't spend mana on them and the other players did all the work. The archer fired three enchanted arrows and dealt them the first blow, the tanks withstood their counterattacks, the warrior dealt them the final blow. When we moved on to the second floor, the level of the monsters increased rapidly and we even saw angels with an average level of 40-45. Now I was constantly using spells by consuming mana potion and we were doing our best to pass the floor quickly. When we went up to the third floor, something unexpected happened:
[A demon has been detected inside the church. All the forces of the church have united for egsorizim. Death to Demons!]
[Dungeon Boss appeared: 65lvl Archangel of Exorcisim]
All the angels and the Boss monster started attacking us at the same time.
"How can this be? This is the first time I've seen a Dungeon Boss monster come out of its room and attack with minions. Do you have any idea about this, Reaper-san?"
"I was quite surprised too, but let's put these questions aside and deal with the problems we face"
'I'm probably the devil they're talking about here, but it's a problem that it's like this.'
I immediately organized our formation and we went on the defensive and started our attack to kill the minions first.
I attacked with [Tripled VI tier magic: Flame Wing] and damaged three angels and didn't stop and [Tripled V tier magic: Dragon Lightning]
The party members next to me immediately attacked according to their mission and the tanks blocked the attacks from the boss. After about ten minutes of fighting, we finally killed all the minions and reduced the Boss monster's health by twenty percent. But everyone in the party had fifty percent less health. Under the protection of the tanks, everyone attacked the lonely Boss monster. After a few minutes, when the monster's health was below fifty percent, the second phase began and a magic circle appeared under the Boss, increasing its health up to eighty percent. Even if we attacked with all our might, even if we blew up the floor where the magic circle was, the regeneration did not stop. As a result, this made our job very difficult and after ten minutes the monster's health was back to fifty percent, but this time nothing happened. Five minutes later Boss's health was down to thirty percent, but the average health of everyone in the party was down to twenty percent, except me of course. That's when I unleashed my true power and blocked the teleportation spells with the spell [Extend VIII magic: Dimensional Lock]. Then I moved a little away from the group. Everyone looked at me with surprise, suspicion and questioning questions because my action broke the formation, but I didn't despair and threw the spell [Maximize VIII tier magic: Explosion] in the middle of the players. All the players were frozen in surprise and the spell hit the best place and killed them. Only the healer survived and attacked me, I think he had cast a healing spell on himself at the last moment. But it was hopeless and I cast [Maximize VIII magic: Death] on him and killed him too. I was now alone with the boss and despite the negative side effects, I immediately attacked [Tripled VII tier magic: Hell Flame] and three small black flames hit the monster and expanded to engulf its entire body in flames. I didn't stop there and immediately cast [Extend VII tier magic: Napalm], dealing a lot of damage to the monster and quickly draining its health due to the successive burning damage. After a seven minute battle, the Boss finally died and I got the following in total from the battle:
[Five players killed: lvl 53--58]
[Boss Monster Killed: 58--60]
Negative status effects applied:
{Agilty -10%; MagDef -10%; PhisAtt -10%; PhisDef -10%; HP -10%}
{Attention your location will be revealed for twenty minutes}
-You got these items:
[Some Rare Data Crystals]
[Relic-class Mace: Divine Judgment]
Some consumable items and potions. I also got 1 Legacy-class, 3 Top-class, 2 High-class items from the players I killed, but these items were useless to me so I was going to recycle them.
I had just left the dungeon when a shocking Event started on the whole server.
{Yddgrasil is in danger. A World Enemy has appeared}
{Please Heroes, Protect Yddgrasil from the World Enemy!!!}
[World Enemy's location is marked on your map. Defeat him in seventy-two hours. The maximum number of raid team members is limited to 150].
This news sent a bombshell through the entire server. Powerful guilds and confident players immediately formed a raid team. Since the number of people was limited, only players ranked in the top one hundred and fifty or at the same level as them were included in the raid team. I joined the raid team but of course by changing my level and name. I was given a day to prepare for the raid, tomorrow at twelve o'clock at night the raid team would be mobilized. If they failed, they would try again a day later. In the run up to the raid I spent a lot of money in the cash shop and the guilds that produced them to get plenty of quality consumables and prepare myself for the big battle. I also paid the three support mages who would be participating in the raid to cast high-level mana regeneration spells just for me during the raid. My goal was to use the [Grand Catastrophe] spell from World Disaster to deal the final blow to the boss monster and deal maximum damage.

[Battle Mage: An auxiliary caster that gains proficiency and usage in weapons and is able to combine their use with the spells that they cast.]
[War Mage (arcane)-Requires: Sorcerer:
An advanced version of the Sorcerer class that further improves their destructive power and allow them to unleash it without reserve or worry]
(Grand Catastrophe): It is an ultimate move which requires 60% of the caster mana. Its destructive power outstripped the might of even super-tier spells. This spell is capable of wiping out four level 87 Primal Fire Elementals and the level 90 Primal Star Elemental summoned by Asura, which should have been at full health, were instantly annihilated.
The factors that allowed me to outperform the others so far were as following:
1) Duration. While other actors struggled to find time between work and school, I was in front of the screen at every opportunity. I am stayed awake at night, getting stronger each time. For me, the game became a job."
2) Money: While many players were trying to progress over time, I was using money quickly and effectively. I earned rare items from the coins I invested in the Gacha system. In doing so, I noticed opportunities that my opponents missed. The power of money was more important than anything else in the game world, and I was using this power more and more efficiently.
