Grid who finished hunting in the rabbit grounds finally arrived at the entrance of Patrian, the guards who were guarding the gate greeted Grid with a smile and let him through, As he entered he saw some players trying to do what he had done a few hours ago but failing miserably since he knew they're doing half baked effort.

'I guess someone recorded me when I was hunting at the rabbit grounds, they probably saw me training and meditating trying to see what I gained from doing those actions.'

As Grid finishes his thoughts he walks through the street and finally arrives at the market selling various tools, ingredients, and many more. Since his a beginner he decided to buy cheap items that could help with hunting slimes.

"Hey, mister I would like to buy some rope, firewood, and a few matches."

The vendor selling cooking and camping tools noticed it was Gird the little hero smiled and said.

"Ohh! If it isn't the little hero! Of course, I'm happy to give you this for free! just come back and buy here in the future!"

The vendor said out loud while laughing, Grid hearing this laughed awkwardly and accepted the vendor's gifts though he was a little ashamed of being at the center of attention because of the shameless advertising.

'Now I know how my opponents felt when I was promoting the diamond capsule in the past during the national competition.'

Though the sudden advertising Grid just smiled and waved his hands at the surrounding people and left the market, As Grid left Patrian once again he checked the new items he acquired from the hidden quest, while he was walking towards the slime valley.

These items are quite good until the mid-level 100s since most of the enemies in the early stage are quite weak, so Grid was happy he didn't need to change items frequently. As much as he was happy with this, he was curious why Kraugel wasn't able to obtain these achievements. Plus, he can get the 'Prodigy Set' if he clears the hidden quest.

'hmm... slimes are quite a tricky opponent since they have some resistance to physical attacks luckily I bought some firewood to use against them, As for the boss I think it would be more resistant to cuts so I have to use mainly bow since it has power and it can pierce through better than a spear.'

As Grid finished pondering in his thoughts, he went over the small hills to check the area to have a proper layout of the field, suddenly he heard a woman yelling for help, Grid who heard the voice sprinted towards it while pacing himself. Grid finally arrives and sees a poisonous slime chasing the woman who yelled for help, she seems to be in her early 20s with light brown hair and dark blue eyes a beautiful face a developed body and seems to be carrying a medium-sized basket, instantly Grid takes out his bow and aims, he closes his eyes as he pulls the bowstring then takes a deep breath 'huff...' as he does he exhales 'sigh...' and then released the bowstring instantly the arrow flew towards the poisonous slime killing it.

As Grid was thinking this the woman he saved slumped down while shaking finally being able to rest her legs, Grid saw this and started walking toward the woman while offering his hand and asking. "Ma'am, are you ok?" The woman suddenly jumped and hugged Grid, as she did Grid felt a soft feeling pressing against his chest and was flustered, he then patted the woman's back as softly as possible, and the woman started crying on his shoulder while saying "Thank you!, Thank you!" over and over again.

Grid finally managed to calm down the woman who introduced herself as Anna a pharmacist in Patrian, Grid then introduced himself as Grid a wandering adventurer, as the reason for Anna being here in the Slime Valley, she was looking for ingredients to make medicine for her sick daughter.

Anna who made such a request was fidgeting due to being nervous if her savior would accept the request. Gird who's reading the details of the quest responded to Anna and said.

"I accept, and don't worry I don't need any payment since I'm already hunting here."

Grid said while smiling at Anna warmly, what he didn't realize this action made Anna blush and she simply said "T-Thank you…".

Grid who saw this coughed while looking to the side a bit embarrassed, As they prepared to leave Grid checked the surroundings first before they set out. Grid then took out a spear for a longer reach so he could stay near Anna while having a good range so no monster could ambush Anna, they then moved to the first area of the slime valley where the big trees were located.

Anna who for the first time glimpsed the slime forest was in awe because of how beautiful, and yet a dangerous place existed in an area filled with slimes that tended to devour plants, Grid chuckled at the sight of Anna who was looking around in a child-like manner, hearing Grid chuckling Anna's face flushed due to being embarrassed.

"*Ahem… s-sorry about that embarrassing scene… a-anyway sir Grid! Please keep a lookout for any monster while I harvest tree sap."

Grid nodded, and Anna took out her harvesting tools and started extracting the tree sap using a small knife, she carefully put the sap in the small glass bottle slowly. Grid, who was keeping watch, took out his bow and plunged the spear into the ground so he could switch to it if it broke down into a melee.

'Hmm... I need to keep my focus if I don't want Anna to get hurt until she finishes collecting the saps, I need to keep my guard up.'

As Grid reminds himself why he needs to keep his guard up, suddenly he hears a rustling near a tree with thick bushes, 2 poisonous slimes came out of the thick bush and start charging at them, Grid seeing this aimed and pulls the bowstring, he takes a deep breath *huff... and released *sigh... at the same time he let go of the bowstring and the arrow flew towards one of the slimes and instantly killing it.

"Since you're done collecting the sap, where are we going next?"

Anna who was still looking at Grid got embarrassed and suddenly covered her mouth with her left hand and cleared her throat *A-ahem... as she did she took out a map and said.

"Y-yes now we're done here, the next stop is 'Slime Nest' where a man mushroom grows, though we better be careful last I heard there's an abnormally large slime living there."

Grid nodded his head and started packing Anna's belongings to speed up the process and not waste any more time, Anna smiled at Grid and thanked her for helping after that they started walking towards the slime nest.

-20 minutes later brought you by chibi Anna proudly raising and showing the bottle holding the special sap.-

When they arrived they noticed a lot of the areas were either dead or covered with slimes, Grid who saw this decided to dual wield his sword and spear, seeing Grid's action, Anna now knew how serious the situation if Grid who effortlessly destroyed the slimes by simply using his sword on the way here, suddenly dual wielding his weapons means that monsters here are much dangerous.

'It seems the slime here is either more poisonous or acidic base, this is quite troublesome compared to the rabbit ground'

Grid thinking this suddenly used his sword and blocked an acidic ball made out of slime that was aimed at Anna, Grid immediately said "Anna take cover behind those big rocks!" Anna listening to Grid's advice instantly sprinted but a tentacle made out of slime shot past Grid aiming for Anna's legs, Grid immediately swung his spear vertically *swush and successfully cut the slime tentacles.

The slime noticing its tentacles getting cut changed target and aimed multiple acid balls at Grid, seeing this he deflected half of it using his spear, and the other half was cut by his sword, Grid suddenly yelled to Anna "Anna! go and collect the mushroom now! while I take this monster down!" Hearing Grid's words Anna made a run for it, as she did Grid decided to throw his spear with all his might to pierce through the slime, but sadly it didn't work since the slime was too thick to pass through even when 'Spear Shot' activated.

Grid instantly jumped to the side and rolled his body avoiding 2 slime tentacles that pierced the ground where he was previously standing, then another tentacle swang horizontally at Grid but he defended by crossing both his weapons to take the brunt of it, he was pushback by the force because of how much the power was used in that one swing, luckily he perfectly defended against it.

The slime then charged at Grid with full force, immediately Grid took out the firewood he bought in Patrian and threw it directly at the slime with full force, the slime just continued charging at Grid but he already saw this coming and jumped to the side rolling once more, the slime miss Grid and instead hit the wall thanks to this the firewood pushed the spear inside its body and pierced the core.

The slime that was embedded in the wall tried to free itself, Grid had already coated the arrows with slime and lit it up, the slime finally freeing itself was shot by a flaming arrow from Grid, dealing massive damage.

Grid seeing half of the slime being blown up to bits instantly rushes towards the core of the slime, suddenly a tentacle tried to pierce Grid's head but failed due to Grid tilting his to the side, he followed it up by spinning his body and doing a spinning attack which successfully cuts the tentacle while pushing him towards the slime with powerful momentum, Grid then cuts the slime's core horizontally followed up quick stab and ending with a left diagonal strike.

Grid who was tired laughed and let a heavy breath due to being tired because of his low stamina, Anna who finally came back while yelling "Grid...!! I finally got it! along with different ingredients!" Grid who heard this let out a small chuckle and he smiled at Anna.

"Good! That means you can finally make a cure for your daughter's sickness."

Grid said with a smile, Anna smiled at that and rushed to Grid and hugged him as tightly as possible while saying "Thank you! Thank you! so much!" Grid just hugged her back and said "You're welcome" Anna who finally remembered what she was doing instantly separated from Grid and laughed awkwardly with a small blush on her face.

"Now that we're done let's leave before more monster comes since it's almost nighttime."

Anna nodded at Grid and they started walking back to Patrian while having some small talk, Grid just asked if she could make some potion to train a beginner stage core, and Anna confidently replied that she could saying that she could make it using the core that Grid collected.

The 2 finally arrive at the front gates of Patrian, Anna smiled happily finally being able to make a cure for her daughter's sickness, Grid was happy to be able to help Anna because, in the first turn he never saw Anna meant she was supposed to die in the forest or die at home due to poison.

"Thank you so much sir Grid! Thanks to you I will be able to help my daughter, if you need any potion or want to learn alchemy just come by and I will teach you for free."

Grid smiled at that and said. "Of course, I would come by from time to time and maybe check on your daughter if she's doing ok."  Anna smiled at that and gave Grid the rewards and said her goodbyes to Grid with a smile.

Finally finishing the quest Grid feels refreshed because of the rewards and helping Anna, with that in mind his next goal is to finish the enlightened quest and get the rewards before reaching level 10, he decides the best way to do that is probably opening his mana core which is untrained, he decided to buy some ingredients he needs to perform that and of course some cooking tools for future uses...
