Chapter 9: Elythral
Ollivander couldn't believe his eyes when he saw the information on the scroll. He had to be dreaming. He is dreaming right? There is no way this is happening. And that too for a child to be the cause for this. Unbelievable.
On the scroll was the information on the wand. Sirius was looking at Ollivander when he grabbed the scroll to read it. He saw that the wand maker nearly fainted at the information. It couldn't be that bad right? Again, who was he kidding, it was Harry for gods sake. Sirius was about to ask about the wand when Ollivander spoke up.
"Congratulations, Mr. Potter. You are now the owner of Elythral."
"Elythral?"
"Yes, Mr. Potter, that is the wands name."
"Wands have name?"
"Apparently this one does, Mr. Potter. I believe you will find your wand to be able to communicate with you."
"What do you mean Mr. Ollivander?"
"Well Mr. Potter, it would seem that nature went all out when creating your wand. The wood is Yggdrasil heartwood, which is said to be the tree from which life originated. Much like others I myself had thought it to be a myth, a folklore, until I read the scroll."
Harry was about to ask something when Ollivander raised his hand to stop Harry.
"Bear with me Mr. Potter. The wand is called Elythral, a wand created from Yggdrasil heartwood. It's core entwines phoenix feather, threstal hair and a Basilik horn. It has an ethereal aura which is emanated due to the engraving of ancestral runes, which blends harmoniously with light and darkness."
"The wand core is sentient, as in having a consciousness of it's own. It will connect to you intuitively listening to your every command seamlessly. It will respond to your thoughts rather than your actions, which means that you will not have to consciously put your magic through your wand as it will draw on your energy itself in order to respond to your every request."
Harry was awestruck. He had thought that having a wand would mean doing all those useless and time consuming movements so he thought that he would just get a wand for the sake of getting one. He never intended to use it. But now it would seem his worries were naught. He was about to ask something when he got stopped again.
"I am not finished Mr. Potter. It would seem that nature has imbued your wand with the ability to manipulate time itself. While this ability is not as powerful as you would imagine right now. All you can do is slow down or fast forward time in a limited area. While the scroll does indicate other information, but truth be told I have no idea as to what these abilities are."
Harry just nodded. He would find out the abilities eventually anyways.
"So how much will this wand cost me, Mr. Ollivanders?"
"Truth be told, Mr. Potter, your wand is priceless. There has never been such a wand created before. So I do not think I can name a price for it. But as nature created this wand specifically for you, I cannot take any money from you as I was not the creator"
Sirius didn't know anything anymore. He just closed his mind off. From now on he was nothing more but a puppet, he will not hear anything about Harry's ability anymore as he wanted to keep his sanity intact. The Elythral was nothing but another wand from Ollivander's nothing more nothing less. He plastered a smile on his face and looked at Ollivanders while handing him 150 galleons.
"Please keep this for the wand, Mr. Ollivander"
"Ah Mr. Potter, before I forget. I have a rather bold request of you."
"Yes Mr. Ollivander?"
"My only request is that when you figure out the wands abilities, please let me know. I would like to deepen my knowledge of wands so that today's incident doesn't repeat in the future, though I doubt it ever will."
"Of course, Mr. Ollivanders. I will write to you when I figure it out."
Ollivander refused but Sirius pressed the gold into his hand ushered Harry out. Just as Ollivander was about to go back and write a letter to Dumbledore about the unusual happening, Sirius entered again pale in face.
"Mr. Ollivanders when you said all that, does it mean that Harry is that much powerful?"
"Well Sirius, to say the least. Harry would be able to bend Dark Lord at his knees right now if he was allowed to"
Sirius's face went even more pale. His godson was that powerful.
"If Harry ever goes down the same path as the Dark Lord, I'm afraid no one can stop him from destroying this world Sirius"
Sirius felt genuinely scared of his godson. How could a child be that powerful? More like why is Harry so powerful? But he dismissed all those thoughts. Harry was his godson and he will support him all the way and keep him from following the path of Voldemort.
After the wand, Sirius took Harry to Eeylops Owl Emporium, to buy his said birthday present to which Harry almost dragged Sirius away. As if Sirius hadn't already spent enough. Sirius got him the snowy owl, Hedwig(as we know). After getting all the things, Sirius and Harry apparated back to Petunia's house for dinner.
After a fun dinner with the family, Harry went to get some sleep. He couldn't wait to get to Hogwarts, even if he had nothing to learn there. I would be fun to make friends, namely Ron and Hermione. Well Hermione doesn't know him yet, but he is sure he will meet her tomorrow.
Sirius had waited till Harry went off to sleep, then he relayed to Petunia and Vernon about the incident at Ollivanders. Much like him they too were scared at a child having so much power. Sirius told them not to let Harry know about anything and just behave normally as he didn't think Harry would go down same path as Voldemort. They nodded and bid farewell to Sirius, who left for his home after their discussion.
Ollivander on the other hand had taken the liberty to write a detailed letter to Dumbledore regarding the incident in his shop. He feared for Harry. Scared that Harry would follow up the same path as Voldemort. He implores to Dumbledore that he should look after Harry properly to ensure he doesn't end up following the dark path, cause if he did, 'No one could save the world from him!'
