Otherworldly Desert Dust

Chapter 560 Immortal as a Football

The Immortal man stepped out from the radiance.

His figure was no different from that of an ordinary person, with snow-white hair and brows, even his eyelashes seemed to carry a trace of snow velvet.

At this moment, he squinted his eyes, a smile lifting his face, yet it only made him appear even colder.

"I forgive your ignorance." The Immortal man seemed unfazed by Wu Hen's provocation, nor did he deem Wu Hen worth his attention.

"Restore this place. Since you are to take charge here, you ought to host us properly. If you treat the Nuwa Divine Race's people poorly, don't blame me for being rude," Wu Hen said.

The other man showed no intention of coming down to take a beating.

Wu Hen, likewise, had no plans to fly up, preferring to give this detached Immortal a warning.

To others, the Immortal Lineage might still put on a show, but to Wu Hen, they were merely another branch of the Human Clan that discovered the Evolution Chain Gate. For the sake of flaunting their superiority, they named themselves Immortals.

"You hold prejudice against our Immortal Lineage?" the snow-browed Immortal man asked.

"Oh? Now you're about to lecture me on reason and rules, huh... Alright, I'm all about reasoning with virtue. First of all, according to your Immortal Lineage's regulations, if there's dissatisfaction between neighbors, one can openly challenge the other, simply by informing you of the situation. Now let me ask you, does the challenged party have the right to refuse?" Wu Hen asked.

"No." The snow-browed Immortal man responded.

"Then if a member of the Nuwa Divine Race was forced to face Fei Que Martial God, doesn't that mean all the strong among the Divine Race can respond to the fight?" Wu Hen pressed further.

"Yes."

"So am I not a person?! As a member of the Nuwa Divine Race, can I take action? Answer me!" Wu Hen pointed at the Immortal man.

The snow-browed Immortal man replied without hesitation, "When a Star God enters the Immortal Infinite City, they must notify us, as an acknowledgment of their strength and to prevent conflict escalation. The Human Clan of Ten Thousand Veins inherently harbors numerous irreconcilable tensions; suppression leads to blockage, while openness leads to resolution. Thus, we permit matters to be resolved through fair duels, with proper notification. We oversee such duels to prevent needless slaughter."

"You may take action; we have shown no bias toward any side. However, before acting, you must notify us... Your Human Clan is excessively emotional, and your strength could easily destroy those cultivators still at the mortal stage. The rules we set are indisputably justified."

Wu Hen listened and laughed, finding it utterly futile to debate with someone operating on such a different wavelength. In his experience, a good thrashing often made people suddenly comprehend reason.

"In the end, all explanations are reserved to your Immortal Lineage. You claim fairness and justice, but what you really want is to tell every Human Clan in Infinite City that your Immortal Lineage is the ruling class. The Ten Thousand Veins of the Human Clan and the Human-born Gods must obey your will instead of supposed rules!" These words were not Wu Hen's but Guan Li's.

Guan Li's statement resonated deeply within most residents of Modern City.

Modern City's neighbors weren't limited to Hundred Lakes Martial God Mansion. Other Human Clans from Cang Chu Divine Realm also frequently caused trouble, viewing the Nuwa Divine Race as primitive tribes invited to a high civilization's grand assembly. These self-proclaimed noble Cang Chu Humans looked down on them while enjoying public displays of superiority.

"Well said." Wu Hen gave Guan Li high praise, then pointed at the snow-browed Immortal man. "We may have evolved for a shorter time, but in terms of intellectual depth, you Immortals better take notes and learn diligently."

"Is that so?" The snow-browed Immortal man chuckled, evidently unmoved. "So you're unwilling to accept our discipline?"

"Wu Hen, stop wasting breath on this pretentious fool, just beat him up! He's asking for it!" Even Rat Mouse was losing patience and said to Wu Hen.

"Indeed, reasoning follows fists!" Wu Hen grinned, his smile radiant.

...

Wu Hen stepped forward, now standing at the same altitude as the snow-browed Immortal man.

The Immortal man was visibly shocked; beneath him was a layer of cloudlight, a barrier not everyone could traverse. Even Star Gods of Cang Chu Divine Realm couldn't fly above it—cloudlight was like a heavenly curtain, suppressing all below.

Wu Hen cared not a whit what the cloudlight represented.

He swung a single fist directly into the snow-browed Immortal man's face, sending him flying out of the cloudlight.

The snow-browed Immortal man plowed a trench into the ground, the process lasting mere seconds.

Still, Immortals were Immortals—tough-skinned and resilient. While Fei Que Martial God's bones were shattered completely by Wu Hen's palm strike, this Immortal wasn't reduced to tatters.

He quickly rose, even tidying his still-immaculate garments.

The snow-browed Immortal man was astonished, as he dusted himself off, to find Wu Hen suddenly behind him, kicking him skyward.

Reacting swiftly, the snow-browed Immortal man summoned the Eight Diagram Shield Map to block Wu Hen's violent kick.

The Eight Diagram Shield Map shattered instantly, the tremendous force sending the Immortal man back into the sky, to the height of the previous cloudlight.

The cloudlight resembled a completely transparent water mirror, fracturing instantly into countless cracks appearing in the sky.

Upon seeing the cloudlight disperse, the people on the ground realized the truth.

It turned out they couldn't see the Immortals simply because the cloudlight acted like one-way glass, enveloping the upper part of Infinite City—allowing Immortals to look upon the city while remaining unseen from below...

The technique wasn't so advanced after all!

The snow-browed Immortal man couldn't utilize his Immortal Law, left like a punching bag to be kicked repeatedly by Wu Hen in midair.

Wu Hen's speed and strength far exceeded that of typical Star Gods, especially when every aspect of his abilities had evolved to the current dimension's peak state. Though individual Immortals possessed formidable power, being a notch above Star Gods did not necessarily mean they were leagues beyond them.

The Human Clan meetings in Cang Chu Divine Realm had occurred countless times, as had conflicts between Human Gods and Immortals. But to treat an Immortal like a ball and kick them around? This—this was surely the first!

"Silver Wind, Hurricane Sword!"

The snow-browed Immortal man finally lost his temper.

The damage wasn't the issue; the humiliation was intolerable.

He couldn't fathom where this barbarian had come from!

Immortal Technique unleashed, the snow-browed man pointed skyward, summoning Silver Wind all around.

The Silver Wind converged above Infinite City, forming a silver-colored Hurricane Heaven Sword that slashed toward Wu Hen.

Wu Hen gazed at the Immortal man's technique, unable to resist laughing.

Too slow.

This guy seemed to be a Sword Immortal—how coincidental, Wu Hen had sparred with the Sword Immortal Lineage countless times. Without using any Divine Skills, he could effortlessly counter it with the barbaric ancient combat skills he had mastered in the Scroll Realm.

Wu Hen ascended into the sky and willingly entered the Hurricane Heaven Sword.

The Hurricane Heaven Sword's strongest aspect was its outer Silver Wind, spinning violently like countless blades. But its center was a hollow, calm and devoid of any sword force; by entering through the Sword's pointed tip and traversing to its root, not a single corner of one's robe would be shredded.

Back then, when Fairy Gong Qin used this exact Immortal Technique against him, Wu Hen resolved it in the same manner, leaving her crying on the ground, utterly defeated.

"What a gaudy move! Watch my kick!"

Wu Hen emerged from the Hurricane Heaven Sword, appearing once again before the Immortal man.

With a hovering kick, Wu Hen this time gathered all his Qi power.

The Immortal man gasped in horror, unwilling to suffer such humiliation before the entire Human Clan. Yet he never anticipated his technique would be so effortlessly neutralized, nor did he imagine the Hurricane Heaven Sword had such a glaring flaw...

*Bang!!!!!!*

With this kick, the snow-browed Immortal man was sent flying far, far away.

Had Infinite City been bounded, he would have long surpassed its borders.

High in the sky, a long chaotic stream appeared—the trench plowed through by the Immortal man's flight. Clouds and winds lacked physical substance, offering no relief as he hurtled farther and farther away, destination unknown.

The residents of Modern City and Hundred Lakes Mansion craned their necks, but the elegant Immortal man had vanished from sight.

All prior respect for the Immortal man now utterly shifted to Wu Hen, tinged with a slight fear!

"Could you send someone reasonable next time, preferably someone who speaks plain language." Wu Hen proclaimed to the sky.

Others were puzzled, wondering who Wu Hen was speaking to.

Wu Hen returned to the ground, noticing that the damaged areas of Infinite City from the earlier battle were beginning to recover.

This restoration didn't resemble a time reversal, where scattered debris returned to their original spots, but was more akin to wounds healing visibly. New domains sprouted in place of the old.

Infinite City's previously destroyed roads, vegetation, buildings, and landscapes were all regenerating—but the regenerated bits subtly differed, leaving an entirely new zone in their wake.

"You've driven the Immortal away. Won't your Nuwa Lineage face harsh punishment from the Immortal Lineage?" Gu Luoshui asked.

"Wasn't that guy just threatening us with harsh punishment? In the end, who was punished?" Wu Hen replied, completely unconcerned.

"Immortals aren't as united as people imagine. Perhaps they'd even enjoy seeing one of their own humiliated by a Human God. That Immortal Shanghu was nothing more than a pretentious opportunist. We approached respectfully as guests, showing due deference to their Immortal Lineage, but some Immortals are so full of themselves that there's no need for additional politeness." Ruan Muhuan added.

The arrogance of the Immortal Lineage was indiscriminate—at most, Da Xuan and the Holy Sect might earn a modicum of respect, but to the rest of the Human Clans, the Immortal Lineage offered nothing but scorn.
