Chapter 2: prologue (updated)
[Planet Vegeta]
Bardock soared through the atmosphere of the planet, his armor battered and bloodied from the relentless battle against Frieza's soldiers. He fought with a fury, each strike sending his enemies flying. One soldier, desperate, fired a blast at him, but Bardock dodged it, closing the distance in an instant.
With a roar, he grabbed the soldier, throwing him into a cluster of others. Bardock followed up by releasing a devastating energy blast that obliterated the group, the explosion lighting up the battle field
"Come on, you cowards!" Bardock shouted, his voice filled with rage and defiance.
A soldier, wide-eyed with fear, turned to his comrades and asked, "Who the hell is this guy?"
The remaining soldiers, realizing they were outmatched, circled Bardock, grabbing hold of him, trying to restrain him in a tangled mass. As the ball of soldiers squeezed tighter, a deep, guttural voice broke through.
"Frieza!"
In an instant, the pressure inside the circle shattered as Bardock unleashed a massive burst of energy. The force of his power sent every soldier flying, their bodies crashing into others Bardock stood at the center, breathing heavily, his fury only growing.
"Look, Zarbon, it seems one of the monkeys got brave," an ugly pink alien sneered. "Oh, and it looks like he's trying to stop us."
"Don't worry, Dodoria. Too bad he can't do anything against our lord. He'll die along with his pathetic planet," Zarbon replied as the doors slid open and Frieza entered on his hover pod.
"You're right, Zarbon. This monkey's actions will be in vain," Frieza said, chuckling. "I'll wipe him out—along with his entire filthy race." The roof above them opened, and Frieza hovered up in his pod, gazing down at Planet Vegeta with a cruel smile.
Meanwhile, Bardock, finishing off an enemy, looked up and saw Frieza's ship. Gritting his teeth, he growled, "You bastard! Our race is done serving you and your father! This ends now. This is for all the innocent people you made us kill!" With a roar, Bardock formed an energy ball in his hand and hurled it at Frieza.
Frieza smirked, casually extending his hand. A red energy ball formed, growing larger and larger until it completely dwarfed Bardock's attack. The massive blast swallowed Bardock's energy ball in an instant and hurtled toward him.
Desperate, Bardock tried to hold it back, but it was futile. As the overwhelming power consumed him, his mind filled with an image of his son, Kakarot, standing before Frieza with blond hair and a golden aura.
"Avenge our race, Kakarot," were Bardock's final thoughts before he was erased by the devastating blast.
The energy ball continued its path toward the planet as Saiyans, from low-class warriors to elites, stepped outside and looked to the sky in shock. The crimson light bathed them as realization dawned.
The red sphere tore through the planet's crust, burrowing deep until it reached the core. Then, with a blinding explosion, Planet Vegeta was no more.
Scouters across the area screamed with static as Saiyan power levels vanished one by one. Frieza leaned back in his pod, laughing. "I feel much better now," he said, satisfied. "The myth of the Legendary Super Saiyan is gone, and the universe is mine to rule without fear."
[Some planet far away]
"Did you hear? We got a message from the Frieza Force. They said a meteor collided with Planet Vegeta and wiped everyone out," a Saiyan man said.
"Impossible," another replied, his voice heavy with disbelief.
Nearby, two young Saiyans sat inside the ruins of a destroyed home, overhearing the conversation.
"Guess we're kinda lucky," the long-haired one muttered. "Good thing we ignored the call to return to Planet Vegeta."
"Damn it! Now I'll never get to be King Vegeta," the other grumbled. "I wonder if my brother died along with the others... Not that it really matters."
A third Saiyan, standing nearby, called out, "Raditz, don't you have a younger brother?"
Raditz shrugged dismissively. "Yeah, I do. But he was just going to be another low-class warrior. He probably died in a sleeping capsule. Wait..." He paused, scratching his head. "I think my mother mentioned she sent him off the planet. Oh well, I don't really care."
[in the middle of space]
A space pod hurtled through the vast expanse of space at incredible speed, carrying a sleeping baby inside. After many days of travel, the pod finally approached its destination—a large green and blue planet with multiple moons and a massive, glowing star.
The pod pierced through the planet's atmosphere, streaking across the sky like a comet. It descended rapidly, heading toward a remote island. With a thunderous crash, it slammed into the ground, toppling trees and sending dirt flying in all directions.
Hearing the commotion, an old man hurried toward the noise. As he approached, he saw the strange pod and cautiously walked closer to investigate.
