Chapter 1: Chapter 1: A New World Without a System
Pain.
A sharp, unbearable pain shot through my entire body.
I gasped for air, my lungs burning as if I had been drowning just moments ago. My vision was blurry, and my limbs felt weak.
Where... am I?
Slowly, my senses started returning. I felt the rough texture of sand beneath my hands and the warmth of the sun beating down on my face. The sound of waves crashing against the shore filled my ears.
I groaned, pushing myself up with great effort. My body was trembling, as if I had just run a marathon.
I looked around.
An empty beach.
The vast ocean stretched endlessly before me, and behind me stood a dense jungle filled with towering trees and unknown dangers.
A cold realization hit me.
I don't recognize this place.
I tried to recall how I got here… but my mind was blank. No memories, no clues, nothing. Just the fact that I had suddenly found myself in this unknown land.
I took a deep breath, trying to stay calm.
"Alright… Think," I muttered to myself.
First priority: survival.
If this really was an isolated island, then I needed to find food, water, and shelter.
I stood up, ignoring the soreness in my muscles. My clothes were damp, torn in some places, but still wearable. At least I wasn't naked.
As I took a step forward—
A sudden message popped up in front of me.
For a moment, my heart leaped.
Was this… a system? Like in those isekai stories?
But as I focused on the text, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment.
[ERROR: SYSTEM NOT FOUND]
[Unable to establish connection]
I blinked.
Wait, what?
I tried to summon a menu, a status screen, anything.
Nothing happened.
The message flickered for a moment before disappearing entirely.
I clenched my fists.
No system?
No overpowered abilities? No skills? Not even a basic status window?
This was bad.
This meant I had to survive without any supernatural help.
A bitter smile crept onto my face.
"Great. Just great."
But I wasn't going to give up. If I had survived whatever brought me here, then I would keep going.
I turned toward the jungle.
If I wanted to live… I had to get moving.
