One Piece : Winged Dragons of the Beast Pirates

Chapter 96: Chapter 74 : Doflamingo Calls!!

This is truly shocking news.

In the New World, the great pirates command the winds and waves, and monsters like Kaido and Charlotte Linlin reign over these seas like emperors, wielding life and death with ease.

However, everyone in this world knows that a pirate is still just a pirate. The true rulers of this world are the World Government and the Celestial Dragons revered by it.

The descendants of the twenty kings who founded the World Government eight hundred years ago, these beings who look down upon the world from the peak of the Red Line, are the ones truly ruling this world; they are known as the godly race.

The place they inhabit, the white city of Mariejois atop the Red Line, is referred to as the Holy Land, a divine realm where gods reside.

And now, this divine realm has been invaded, marking a truly significant event that hasn't occurred in hundreds of years.

Fisher Tiger, a man who was once relatively unknown, has undoubtedly shaken the entire world.

"Mu ha ha ha! It's just a shame that this guy named Tiger didn't take down a few Celestial Dragons," Queen laughed heartily. "If he had, it would have been quite interesting."

"He could never actually charge into the gathering place of the Celestial Dragons and cause chaos," King said calmly, arms crossed. "The power that the Celestial Dragons possess is beyond what outsiders can imagine."

Oh, indeed, King understands.

Ian nodded in agreement.

The Lunaria tribe has always existed on the Red Line.

It's hard to say that the Celestial Dragons didn't seize their homeland, especially since the Lunaria tribe is still being hunted down by the World Government.

The words of the victims carry significant weight.

"Attack Mariejois, huh?"

At that moment, Kaido, sitting cross-legged on a soft cushion, suddenly brightened up. "That sounds pretty good."

"Kaido-sensei, don't act rashly!"

Ian hurriedly interrupted his mentor's dangerous thoughts.

Isn't attacking Mariejois just asking for death?

Let's not even get started on the mysterious Imu and the God Knights; even the Five Elders are a handful.

They're practically immortal, able to recover from any injury. They're even more unreasonable than Marco.

Even Nika Luffy can't handle them, let alone Kaido, who relies purely on stats.

"That's right, Boss Kaido!"

Queen quickly chimed in to dissuade him, "Let's just forget about Mariejois for now."

"There's no need to rush," Ian said. "One day, we will lay siege to Mariejois."

"Lay siege to Mariejois?"

Kaido glanced at Ian, grinning, "Haha! I like the way you think! You're right! Those arrogant Celestial Dragons need to face the truth of this world! Sooner or later, they'll know this world belongs to the strong!"

"Strength is what determines everything!"

But, Kaido, isn't there a chance that the higher-ups among the Celestial Dragons understand this fact better than you do?

Isn't it possible that they possess the strongest power, which is why they can call themselves Celestial Dragons?

"Fisher Tiger?"

Kaido flipped through the newspaper. "I like him."

"But, Mr. Kaido," King said, "the World Government will never let him go. If we recruit him, we'll be facing the World Government's wrath head-on."

"And also, Kaido-sensei, there's a more important issue," Ian reminded him, "After doing this, Tiger definitely won't dare return to Fish-Man Island. We might not even be able to find him."

The Marines only managed to kill Fisher Tiger because the public tipped them off; how is the Beast Pirates, whose intelligence network is practically nonexistent outside their territory, supposed to find him?

"Hmph."

Kaido snorted lightly, crumpling the newspaper in his hand.

If that's the case, then forget it.

"Even if we can't find Tiger, but…"

When it came to Tiger and Fish-Man Island, Ian suddenly had a brilliant idea.

"Kaido-sensei, what if we set our sights on Fish-Man Island?"

"Fish-Man Island?"

Kaido raised an eyebrow.

"I mean, that place is under the control of the Whitebeard Pirates,"

King reminded him. "Unless we're looking to start another war with them, we should probably avoid Fish-Man Island."

Did they just finish one battle and were already itching for another?

"Well, we don't need to outright occupy Fish-Man Island; that would be too far and difficult to control," Ian replied. "I just think we should consider letting some Fish-Men and Merfolk migrate to Wano."

Is there any other country more suitable for Fish-Men and Merfolk than Wano?

The towering cliff walls could block nearly all threats from overseas. Human traffickers couldn't get in, and if they somehow did, they wouldn't get out easily.

More importantly, within Wano's high walls lay a vast inland sea that could fully support the survival of the Fish-Men and Merfolk.

There were even sunken towns left by ancient Wano from eight hundred years ago, complete with ready-made houses.

Ian felt like a genius.

"Fish-Men and Merfolk?"

Queen frowned. "What do we need those guys for? Wano doesn't lack for manpower."

"Why not form an army of Fish-Men?"

Ian suggested his idea. "Think about it. The average strength of a Fish-Man is ten times that of a human. More importantly, they can move freely in the water, dive into the depths, and control ocean currents. They're natural sea warriors! What fleet on the sea could compete with an army like that?"

Though, to be fair, this story is called One Piece, and nearly all the battles happen on land.

But having an underwater unit wouldn't be a bad thing, would it?

Organized Fish-Men causing havoc underwater—how many fleets in the world could withstand that?

But why has no one ever thought of this before?

Ian could only understand it as a deliberate action by the World Government.

Vegapunk said that one day, the world would sink into the deep sea.

Could that be a hint?

The Celestial Dragons believed, or rather, some of them believed, that they should hide at the highest point of the world, wearing diving suits and helmets. Meanwhile, the Fishmen and Merfolk lived freely in the ocean.

What gave these lowly creatures the right to that freedom?

They wanted to trample them into the dirt, to ensure this race would be looked down upon by the world and never rise again.

"Interesting," Queen mused, stroking his chin.

"It's not unfeasible," King agreed, acknowledging Ian's idea.

Of course, it was a clever idea.

Ian smirked slightly; the residents of Fishman Island were all yearning for the surface and sunlight.

"Then let's do it, kid," Kaido said, giving a slight nod. "Off to Fishman Island."

"Me?"

Ian pointed to himself, surprised. He thought he was just offering strategies, while others would execute the plans.

"Who else would it be?" Kaido huffed. "Since it's your plan, you're the one who has to carry it out."

Fishman Island, ten thousand meters below the surface, located in the depths of the sea.

It was quite far from Wano.

This was not going to be an easy task.

But he couldn't bring himself to voice those concerns.

Ian scratched his head. "Alright then."

He decided to think of it as a vacation.

The scenery of Fish-Man Island was indeed beautiful.

Thus, the plan to head to Fish-Man Island was set.

However, Ian certainly didn't rush to leave; there was no need to hurry. After just finishing a fierce battle, he deserved a bit of rest.

During this period of relaxation, a phone call brought Ian some good news.

"Mr. Ian! Incredible! You've made quite a name for yourself! The battle at Hive Island against Marco and the showdown with the Whitebeard Pirates where you took down Diamond Jozu! Your name has echoed throughout the world!"

The friend on the other end of the line started by praising Ian.

"Enough with the compliments. So, Umit," The caller was Umit, the King of Shipping who had previously sought collaboration with Ian in Wano Country. Ian was curious, "Did you suddenly call to tell me you found a suitable partner for us?"

"Yes, Mr. Ian!"

Umit hurriedly replied, "I'm currently in the North Blue, and I've found someone very suitable to collaborate with the Beast Pirates! He's right here with me; let me have him speak to you for a moment."

The line switched to another person.

When the face on the Den Den Mushi donned sunglasses, Ian had a good idea of who Umit had found.

"Gegege! Ian the Skyfire, it's an honor to finally meet you!"

An eerie laughter echoed from the other side of the phone. "Let me introduce myself. My name is Donquixote Doflamingo."

"I wonder if I have the honor of collaborating with the Beast Pirates?"

"Donquixote Doflamingo?"

Ian was sitting on the windowsill of his room, looking down at the spacious square below. "I've heard that name before. You're quite famous in the North Blue."

This wasn't just idle talk; even in the year 1509, thirteen years before Luffy set sail, Doflamingo was already well-known in the North Blue.

He led the Donquixote family, a notorious mafia family in the North Blue, also dabbling in piracy, renowned for their brutality and violence. Just two years ago, Doflamingo had even personally destroyed a town.

If the Donquixote family wasn't dangerous enough, then there would be no need for Sengoku to send his adopted son, Rosinante, to infiltrate Doflamingo's side.

"Hehehe, has my name even reached Wano? What a delightful surprise!"

Doflamingo chuckled, "In that case, I suppose I won't need to introduce myself. I believe I still hold some influence in the North Blue, which should be sufficient to handle the task of assisting the Beasts Pirates with weapon sales."

"However, words alone aren't enough. To prove this, I wonder if you, Ian, could make a trip to the North Blue. I will demonstrate my abilities to you."

Oh?
