One Piece: Who made him the Pirate King!

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Vongola Storm!

Yesterday, Storm was just a rookie marine.

Tomorrow, he might already become an officer!

Sea Calendar Year 1518.

The early morning of New Year's Day.

Vongola Storm woke from a tumultuous rose-colored dream.

As he opened his eyes, he discovered something unexpected—a radiant Trophy had appeared before him.

What is this?

The fantastical Trophy hovered silently in the air, capturing Storm's full attention.

Am I dreaming?

Storm stared intently at the Trophy, and soon a response materialized before his eyes:

[Unique Trophy: Coming of Age]

[Trophy Star Level: None]

[Achievement Condition: Survive healthily to adulthood in the turbulent Great Pirate Era]

[Trophy Description: Set sail, embark on your journey!]

Not a dream. Reality.

The "cheat code" he had waited 18 years for had finally arrived!

Storm stared at the glowing Trophy in disbelief.

Eighteen years.

Trophy, do you have any idea how I've endured these eighteen years?

In the Sea Calendar Year 1500, the Great Pirate Era began, and Storm was reborn into this world.

Although he wasn't fortunate enough to secure a local identity in the Holy Land of Mary Geoise (not even a residential permit), he was lucky enough to be born in a town near the Marine Headquarters, right next to the Holy Land.

For three generations, his family had served as marines.

In this perilous world, survival itself was a struggle.

In the rear towns of the Marine Headquarters, safety was relatively assured.

But when Storm was just a newborn, he experienced the wrath of the world-renowned Golden Lion Shiki's attack on Marineford.

A once-in-a-lifetime superstorm raged over the Marine Headquarters.

Storm narrowly escaped a "born into death" experience.

That attack, which shook the world, ultimately gave Storm his name: STORM.

Logically speaking, with a legendary name like "Stormborn," one might expect him to be destined for greatness.

But the long-awaited "Sword in the Stone" never appeared.

By the time he reached school age, Storm reluctantly gave up fantasies of dragons, systems, and superpowers.

He made a decision:

Study hard. Train harder.

Follow the path of his ancestors and enlist in the marines.

Fun Facts About the Sea:

Even the weakest of marines have a special cheat tailored just for them—

"200x Effort Mode" — Activated!

At 16, Storm officially entered the Marine Academy, where he trained relentlessly.

By 17, he graduated from the Elite Marine Recruit Training Camp with top marks.

If all went according to plan, Storm would bypass the "Private" and "Sergeant" ranks at 18 and jump straight to the position of a commissioned officer in Marine Headquarters!

This was the standard career trajectory for a top graduate of the training camp.

Storm's next life goal?

Work hard, earn money, and secure a powerful Devil Fruit!

Though Kaido, the renowned "Beast" of the seas, once declared,

"Haki reigns supreme over all!"

There were some problems with his credibility.

First, Kaido himself was a user of the Mythical Zoan Fish-Fish Fruit, Azure Dragon Form.

Second, after making this declaration, he promptly unleashed his ultimate Devil Fruit-based move: "Flaming Dragon Torch."

And lastly, the one who defeated Kaido was also a Mythical Zoan Fruit user: Nika Form.

Another notable pirate, Blackbeard Teach, offered this insight:

"When compared to the drawbacks, Devil Fruits offer far greater advantages!"

Of course, Teach was referring to powerful fruits.

As for the saying, "There's no such thing as a useless Devil Fruit, only useless users"?

That's just as misleading as "There are no useless martial spirits, only useless spirit masters."

Pure motivational nonsense.

Devil Fruits clearly have a hierarchy.

For example, the Magma Fruit is superior to the Flame-Flame Fruit.

Even among Logia users, a Magma Fruit user can punch a Flame Fruit user through the chest!

Storm had no qualms about seeking a powerful Devil Fruit.

Logia? Great.

Paramecia? Fine.

Mythical Zoan? Even better!

No one understood "meta choices" better than Storm.

But today...

Even with his hardworking "200x Effort Mode," his long-awaited cheat had finally arrived.

"Alright!"

Suppressing the grin spreading to his ears, Storm turned his attention to the Trophy's abilities.

The glowing Trophy emitted a profound, wave-like resonance.

In mere moments, Storm understood everything.

Trophy Abilities:

Wish Fulfillment: The Trophy grants whatever the user desires most.

Star Points: The stars on a Trophy enhance personal attributes.

In most cases, these two effects couldn't coexist.

However, some special Trophies offered both.

To obtain a Trophy, there was only one way—

Fight!

The stronger the opponent and the fiercer the battle, the higher the Trophy's level!

In essence, the Trophy system provided wishes and stat boosts.

The [Coming of Age] Trophy, however, had no stars.

This meant it could only grant a wish—no stat boosts.

A beginner's benefit, in other words.

Storm took a deep breath and summoned his personal Trophy profile.

[Vongola Storm's Trophy Profile]

Physique: ★★☆

Haki: Not Yet Unlocked

Comments: A hardworking marine recruit, qualified to be one of the 100,000 marines who surrounded Whitebeard at Marineford.

High-Optimism Translation: "You're not very strong yet."

Low-Optimism Translation: "Weakling."

Physique attributes broke down into:

Strength: ★★☆

Speed: ★★☆

Endurance: ★★★

"...Healthy, functional, eats and drinks normally. A bright future ahead," Storm muttered, closing the Trophy Profile window and consoling himself.

He composed himself before finally summoning the [Coming of Age] Trophy again.

"I've waited 18 years for this 'Sword in the Stone.' What will it be?"

The Trophy emitted a radiant light, transforming into a silver-gray ring.

[Name: Devil's Ring]

[Stars: ★★★★★★★★★]

[Description: An ancient artifact of advanced technology, the pinnacle of an ancient kingdom's wisdom.]

**[Abilities: 1. Infinite Energy: Draws energy from nothing, providing an endless supply.]

Indestructible: Its material is incomparably durable and unbreakable.

Devil's Power: Suppresses, absorbs, stores, and transfers the supernatural factors of any Devil Fruit while allowing the user to utilize the fruit's abilities without consuming it.]**

[Commentary: "The Devil cannot kill me!"]

"One, two, three… nine?!"

A Nine-Star item—the Devil's Ring!

Storm was almost blinded by the nine stars.

Even more dazzling were the ring's three abilities!

The greatest flaw of Devil Fruits was the inability to swim.

On a planet dominated by oceans, losing the ability to swim was a deadly disadvantage.

But with the Devil's Ring, Storm could now wield Devil Fruit powers without suffering their drawbacks!

One word: Amazing!

Storm's joy was unparalleled, as though he were wearing new underwear on a refreshing New Year's morning.

After putting on the ring, he headed to Marine Headquarters to report for duty.

Dressed in his blue-and-white marine uniform, Storm was unremarkable among the crowd of soldiers.

After navigating through the bustling building, he arrived at an office door on the top floor.

Knock knock.

"Come in."

The voice was firm yet aged.

Storm entered, saluting with his palm facing backward.

"Sir! Recruit Vongola Storm, reporting for duty!"

"Storm? You're early."

The reply came from a burly man with purple hair and rippling muscles.

It was Black Arm Zephyr, the former Admiral and current head instructor of the Elite Recruit Training Camp.

Storm had come to confirm his rank and post-graduation assignments.

Zephyr glanced at him and tossed a letter with his left hand.

"This is a recommendation letter I wrote personally.

"Now, go next door and see Kuzan. He'll explain everything to you."

Kuzan?

Storm, letter in hand, walked to the adjacent office.

The current Admiral, Aokiji Kuzan, seemed to have been expecting him.

As Storm stepped inside, Kuzan got straight to the point:

"Vongola Storm? Did you bring your resignation letter?"

Storm froze in place.

Not a promotion… but a dismissal?
