Chapter 30: Chapter 30 - Learning Rokushiki in Seconds

**Chapter 30 - Learning Rokushiki in Seconds**

As usual, before beginning the day's training, Zephyr gathered the recruits and laid out their training goals.

Today's focus was **Rokushiki**—the Marine combat techniques that allowed users to push their physical abilities beyond human limits.

Before Jiger, Ginny, and Kuma arrived, Zephyr had already explained the fundamental training methods of Rokushiki to the rest of the students. However, learning Rokushiki was no simple task. Even among elite Marines, mastering all six techniques was exceedingly rare.

To put things into perspective, even future Vice Admirals like Momonga and Onigumo had only managed to learn two or three techniques at most. Meanwhile, Sakazuki and Borsalino, despite their raw talent, hadn't fully mastered all six either.

With Jiger and the others joining the session late, Zephyr took the opportunity to go over the material again.

"You don't need to master all six techniques," Zephyr explained as he looked around the group. "It depends on your fighting style. Take Borsalino, for example—he has no reason to learn **Geppo** since his **Glint-Glint Fruit** allows him to move through the air more effectively than any footwork technique could."

Borsalino smirked, brushing dust off his sleeves as if to say, 'Of course. I'm built different.'

"That said," Zephyr continued, "he's particularly skilled in **Shigan**, using it to enhance the power of the lasers he fires from his fingers."

Jiger listened attentively, analyzing the six techniques and immediately crossing two off his list.

**Kami-e? Completely useless.** With his strength in Haki, he saw no point in relying on a technique that merely made the body as flexible as paper.

**Tekkai? That's just a cheap parlor trick.** It hardened the body to withstand attacks, but to Jiger, it felt unnecessary. He already had enhanced durability—why bother learning a skill that slowed him down?

The remaining four techniques, however, caught his interest.

**Shigan** and **Rankyaku** could help him compensate for his lack of precise long-range attacks. Meanwhile, **Soru** and **Geppo** would significantly improve his mobility.

After Zephyr finished his explanation, he dismissed the group, instructing them to start practicing on their own. However, knowing that Jiger and the others had arrived late, he walked over to them for some additional guidance.

He folded his arms and asked, "Do you three need me to demonstrate the techniques again?"

Ginny and Kuma both nodded, eager to receive further clarification.

Jiger, however, remained silent.

Zephyr assumed he was deep in thought, processing everything he had just learned. He decided not to rush him and instead turned to begin coaching Ginny and Kuma.

He had barely started demonstrating **Soru** when, suddenly—

*Tap!*

Jiger's foot struck the ground with a sharp, rapid movement. In an instant, his body vanished from where he stood, reappearing several meters away.

The entire field fell silent.

Zephyr's movements halted mid-explanation. Several students who had been struggling with **Soru** for months turned their heads, wide-eyed.

Sakazuki, who had been watching from the sidelines, grabbed Borsalino's fist to get his attention and said, "Was that **Soru**? Jiger already learned it?"

Though his voice remained neutral, there was a flicker of surprise in his eyes.

Borsalino, on the other hand, exhaled dramatically. "Man, that's just not fair," he muttered.

Of course, Sakazuki wasn't *too* surprised. After all, Rokushiki's learning speed depended heavily on physical conditioning. The stronger one's body was, the easier it became to execute the techniques. And Jiger? His physical abilities were already monstrous.

Jiger himself didn't seem particularly impressed. He tried again, repeating the movement, and with each attempt, his speed increased. Before long, he was moving so fast that afterimages of himself lingered in place.

Several students, who had been struggling just to make their feet move correctly, stared at him in utter despair.

"This is just cruel," one muttered, on the verge of tears.

Ginny tilted her head, watching Jiger flash across the training ground. Then, she turned to Zephyr and, in complete seriousness, said, "Teacher Zephyr, should we just skip ahead and let Jiger teach us instead?"

Zephyr's eye twitched.

"Uh… well," he hesitated before sighing, "actually, **Soru** is one of the most basic techniques. If you've mastered **Soru**, that means your foot strength is sufficient for techniques like **Geppo** and **Rankyaku**—"

*BOOM!*

Before he could even finish, a cyan **Rankyaku** crescent wave sliced through the air and crashed into the far wall, leaving behind a deep, jagged crack.

Zephyr's words caught in his throat.

Jiger landed lightly on the ground, seemingly testing the technique for the first time.

His expression was one of mild dissatisfaction. "Not powerful enough. Let's try this again…"

Zephyr wasn't the only one stunned. The other students were frozen, looking like their entire belief system had just been shattered.

Sakazuki narrowed his eyes slightly but said nothing.

Borsalino, however, let out an amused chuckle. "This guy's insane…"

Jiger adjusted his stance in mid-air. This time, instead of simply kicking out another **Rankyaku**, he infused his left leg with a violent burst of lightning.

A faint crackling sound filled the air.

Then—

"Rankyaku!"

The next crescent-shaped slash wave wasn't just sharp—it was wreathed in flashing arcs of electricity. It descended from above, slamming into the ground with an explosive force. Sparks scattered in all directions, and the sheer impact sent a few students tumbling backward.

When the dust cleared, a massive black crater remained in the training field.

Jiger landed gracefully, observing the destruction with a look of satisfaction. "There we go," he murmured, nodding approvingly at his own handiwork.

Zephyr, at this point, had gone completely numb.

With a weak wave of his hand, he muttered, "Ginny… Kuma… you two go learn from Jiger. These three techniques are more than enough for you to practice for a while…"

Ginny beamed, grabbing Kuma's wrist and practically dragging him toward Jiger.

Several other students—those who had spent weeks struggling just to execute a single proper **Soru** step—slowly sank to their knees.

One of them groaned, "What's the point of trying anymore?"

Another muttered, "If talent had a physical form, it would be slapping me in the face right now…"

Meanwhile, a quiet murmur spread through the training field. More and more students gathered around Jiger, their curiosity outweighing their bruised egos. Momonga, still staring at the gaping hole Jiger had left in the ground with his electrified Rankyaku, muttered under his breath,

"Mr. Zephyr didn't teach that move..."

Beside him, another Marine recruit, in a surprisingly good mood despite the demoralizing display of talent, patted Momonga's shoulder with a sympathetic smile.

"Don't think about it too much," he said sincerely. "The more you look at that, the more it'll hurt. Just focus on your own training. Comparing yourself to Jiger is pointless. He's not like the rest of us."

Momonga exhaled slowly and nodded. He wasn't about to argue with that.

Ginny, however, didn't seem concerned with any of this. She approached Jiger and stood beside him, her voice taking on a soft, almost playful lilt.

"Brother Jiger, Teacher Zephyr told us to come to you, so I'll be counting on you today~"

Kuma, standing beside her, gave a small nod and added, "Brother Jiger, you can teach Ginny first. I'll just practice on my own."

Jiger nodded, glancing at Ginny before leading her toward a quieter corner of the field where they could train without distractions.

Ginny followed eagerly, standing opposite Jiger as he began his one-on-one instruction.

At first, she listened attentively, mimicking his movements with a serious expression. But as she swung her long, toned legs back and forth, Jiger couldn't help but notice how exaggerated her movements were.

Her kicks were precise, yet… oddly showy. Almost like she was putting on a performance rather than genuinely practicing.

'Is she even trying to learn?' Jiger thought to himself, furrowing his brows.

Shaking off the distracting thought, he focused on explaining the proper technique.

"Your stance needs to be firmer," he instructed. "And when you kick, don't overextend your leg. Otherwise, you'll lose balance—"

Before he could finish, Ginny bit her lip lightly and suddenly lifted her leg in an abrupt, high arc.

For a brief moment, everything seemed to freeze.

Her sudden movement threw off her balance entirely. Her calf landed squarely on Jiger's shoulder, and her upper body tilted dangerously to one side. Instinctively, Jiger reached out, gripping her waist firmly to steady her.

And just like that, they were stuck in a rather awkward position.

Ginny's face was now pressed tightly against Jiger's chest, her body practically draped over him. His solid frame and steady heartbeat were impossible to ignore, and her breathing grew slightly heavier.

Jiger, on the other hand, felt an immediate surge of discomfort.

Ginny's figure was, undeniably, *something*, and the warmth of her body against his was enough to make any man react. If he remained completely unaffected by such close contact, he might as well consider joining Ivankov's ranks.

'Okay. Breathe. Stay calm.'

Taking a slow, measured breath, Jiger carefully shifted his shoulder, attempting to guide Ginny's leg down so she could regain her balance.

However, Ginny had other plans.

A mischievous glint flickered in her eyes.

Just as Jiger thought he was helping her stabilize, she subtly shifted her weight again—this time, using just enough force to throw both of them off balance.

Before he could react, she leaned into him, sending them both toppling backward.

"Oi—!"

With a soft *thud*, they landed, close together, tangled in a mess of limbs.
