Chapter 4: [Devil Fruit ??]
Raizen opened his eyes, feeling his body ache all over. The cold voice of a system echoed in his mind.
> [When activating the system for the first time, one point will be awarded, and the lottery wheel will be turned on. Do you want to draw a lottery?]
A virtual roulette wheel appeared in front of him, displaying various rewards:
- Life Return
- The Supreme Sharp Sword: Yoru
- M500 Revolver
- Logia: Swamp Swamp Fruit
- Logia: Thunder Thunder Fruit
- Paramecia: Slash Slash Fruit
- Paramecia: Slow Slow Fruit
- Zoan: Dog Dog Fruit (Dachshund Form)
- Ancient Zoan: Tyrannosaurus Rex Fruit
- Enhanced Navy Six Styles: Shave
- ???
Raizen stared at the spinning wheel, his mind racing. As a die-hard One Piece fan, he immediately noticed the rarity of certain items. The Thunder Thunder Fruit occupied less than 1% of the roulette, while the final option marked "???" was barely visible—a mere sliver.
The system voice interrupted his thoughts.
> "Draw a lottery?"
Raizen didn't hesitate. "Lottery," he whispered.
The pointer began spinning.
Raizen's heart pounded. Any of these powers could change the current situation. He was lying on the ground, bleeding, while his sister, Kalifa, was surrounded by three thugs.
The wheel slowed. His eyes locked onto the pointer as it hovered over "Life Return."
"No... Not that!" he muttered. Life Return was a great ability, but it wouldn't help him now. His focus shifted as the pointer moved again, this time landing on the sliver marked "???"
The system's voice returned.
> "Congratulations! You have obtained a devil fruit: ???. Would you like to cash it in?"
Raizen clenched his fists, glaring at the thugs closing in on Kalifa. He had no time to overthink.
"Cash it!" he growled.
A strange fruit materialized in front of him—a peach-like fruit covered with swirling patterns. Without hesitation, Raizen grabbed it and took a bite.
The taste was revolting, like eating rotten fish mixed with spoiled milk. He forced it down, coughing.
Suddenly, his body began to change. His muscles expanded, black fur sprouted all over his skin, and his teeth turned into sharp fangs. Standing at three meters tall, Raizen had transformed into a hulking ape-like creature.
One of the thugs sneered, unaware of Raizen's transformation. "Still fighting, you bastard? I'll kill you—"
Raizen's massive hand shot out, gripping the thug's wrist. With a brutal squeeze, bones cracked, and the man screamed in agony.
Raizen snarled, his golden eyes glowing with fury. His free hand curled into a fist, and he delivered a devastating punch to the thug's chest, sending him flying into a nearby building.
The other two thugs froze. Their knives clattered to the ground as they turned and ran.
Raizen dropped to all fours, his powerful limbs propelling him forward in massive strides. He caught up to one thug easily, grabbing him by the leg and slamming him into the ground repeatedly. The man's body went limp, reduced to a bloody pulp.
The last thug stumbled into an alley, gasping for breath.
"Help! Somebody help me!" he screamed.
Raizen leaped over the wall in a single bound, landing with a thunderous crash in front of the terrified man.
The thug trembled, his legs giving out. "M-Monster…"
Raizen's massive hand wrapped around the thug's head. His grip tightened, and with a sickening crunch, the man's skull caved in.
"Enough!"
A voice rang out from above. Raizen turned his head to see a figure descending with the moonwalk technique.
The man had a square jaw, small sunglasses, and a pink coat draped over his shoulders. His muscular arms flexed as he landed gracefully.
Raizen growled, not releasing the corpse in his grip. The man's presence radiated authority, but Raizen was still in a bloodthirsty state.
The man spoke again, his voice steady but firm. "Young man, you're strong, but you'll regret losing yourself to rage. Stand down."
Raizen's golden eyes locked onto him, his breathing heavy, but he didn't attack. Something about this man felt... overwhelming.
