Chapter 18: CHAPTER 18
Another Threat That Cannot Be Ignored
Vice Admiral Tsuru, engaged in battle with the Golden Lion, glanced sideways. A flicker of surprise flashed in her sharp eyes.
Since when did the Rocks Pirates gain another powerhouse?
Conqueror's Haki. Mastery over Armament Haki. And…
Swordsmanship on par with the greatest.
Stopping a thousand foes alone wouldn't be an issue.
"Damn pirate," muttered Zephyr, narrowing his eyes in Caesar's direction.
Caesar's sudden eruption of dominance left the marines momentarily speechless.
But for the Rocks Pirates, was Conqueror's Haki really so common?
Rocks D. Xebec. Edward Newgate. Shiki the Golden Lion. Charlotte Linlin. Kaido.
And now—Caesar.
Six wielders of Conqueror's Haki on a single crew? It was absurd.
---
[25] Conqueror's Haki? Fear of Caesar!
Caesar ignored the marines' stunned reactions. His golden eyes sharpened.
A sharp slash was incoming.
Without flinching, he tilted his head slightly—effortlessly dodging it.
The deadly blade whistled past and struck the mast behind him.
CRACK!
The towering mast splintered and collapsed onto the deck.
The sailors' breath caught in their throats.
"It's Colonel Uchimura! He's here to kill him!"
Caesar's gaze shifted.
A tall, muscular man approached, long brown curls whipping in the wind.
A powerful presence.
But to Caesar, he was just another swordsman.
Caesar chuckled, eyeing the blade in Uchimura's grip.
"So, you wield a sword as well? That's fine."
The marine charged, blade gleaming under the sun.
Caesar met him head-on.
A casual swing of his sword—
"Thousand Bird Slash!"
A roaring, blue bird of energy materialized and slashed forward.
BOOM!
Uchimura barely parried. The sheer force sent him skidding backward.
"ARGH!"
Blood spurted from his arm.
"Colonel!"
The marines panicked.
A booming voice shattered the tension.
"Let me."
Heavy footsteps approached.
The marines turned, eyes filled with desperate hope.
"Rear Admiral Mosley!"
At nearly eight meters tall, Mosley's presence was overwhelming. His massive frame rivaled that of Whitebeard and Kaido.
The deck groaned under his weight.
Caesar's eyebrow arched.
Interesting.
Mosley hefted a massive battle-axe onto his shoulder.
With a thunderous swing, he brought it down upon Caesar.
Caesar didn't move.
The marines scoffed.
"Is he frozen in fear?"
On another warship, Vice Admiral Tsuru stole a glance mid-fight.
Caesar again?
Shiki smirked.
"Worried about your subordinates?"
He chuckled, eyes glinting with mischief.
"You should be."
"That brat's power is second only to me, Newgate, and Linlin."
Tsuru's eyes widened.
That boy… barely in his teens…
Yet, Shiki and Whitebeard were already legends, approaching forty.
"How is this possible?!"
---
Clang!
Mosley's axe cleaved down—
Only for Caesar to stop it with one hand.
A stunned silence fell over the marines.
"…Impossible."
"That's Rear Admiral Mosley! A giant in strength!"
Mosley's eyes flickered.
The raw Haki in his hand… terrifying.
Caesar smirked.
"Not bad."
The next moment—
SWOOSH.
Caesar vanished.
Mosley's pupils contracted.
Then—
BANG.
His head hit the deck.
His massive body collapsed, shaking the entire ship.
On another ship, Sengoku's gaze darkened.
Reevaluating the battle.
Caesar wasn't just a rising star.
He was a threat.
Mastery of Armament Haki.
Awakened Conqueror's Haki.
And the sheer force behind his attacks…
If they didn't stop him now, he would become as dangerous as Rocks himself.
Sengoku clenched his teeth.
If they let him go today—
He would one day become the next great terror of the seas.
Whitebeard's fist suddenly smashed into him.
"Focus, Sengoku."
"You're fighting me."
Garp, watching from afar, felt an uneasy chill.
The battle raged on.
For two days.
Caesar, still not fully recovered, started to feel the exhaustion.
Shiki growled, irritated.
"How long are we gonna keep this up?"
Rocks, thoughtful, made a decision.
"Retreat."
The pirates hesitated but obeyed.
A full-scale war with the navy wasn't worth it.
Not yet.
Whitebeard, Shiki, Linlin, Kaido, and Caesar regrouped.
"Don't let them escape!"
Tsuru lunged for Shiki's leg—
Only for him to levitate higher, smirking mockingly.
Within moments, the Rocks Pirates were gone.
---
[26] Bounty Increase! Roger's Name Resurfaces?!
The sea fell eerily silent.
Only three battered navy ships remained.
The marines looked at each other in confusion.
"They… left?"
Captured pirates, unable to escape in time, sobbed.
"Captain!"
Zephyr silenced them with a brutal kick.
"Shut up!"
Even so, the navy officers frowned.
Rocks had fought them countless times.
He was never one to retreat.
So why now?
Something had changed.
Something far more dangerous than before.
Caesar.
A new force to be reckoned with.
The navy would soon realize—
This battle was just the beginning.
