One Piece: Scientist Simulator

Chapter 156: Chapter 156: Wanna go to the Moon?

"You Are God, Then Who Am I?"

Enel's confidence faltered as the uninvited guest's words echoed through the temple. "You are God, then who am I?" The provocation left him frowning, his mind racing.

Something was wrong. Why can't I hear him?

Standing before him, the intruder exuded an uncanny presence. Yet, in the vast range of Enel's Heart Network, the man did not exist.

Hallucination?

Enel clutched his forehead and let out a booming laugh. "Yeah, hahaha! I understand now! I must want the gold so badly that I've started hallucinating!"

In his mind, it was the only explanation. If the Heart Network couldn't perceive someone, they couldn't possibly exist. Everything stemmed from his frustration at failing to locate the gold for his dream ship, the Ark Maxim.

Smirking, he continued, "You appeared out of nowhere, know my name, and claim to be from the Blue Sea. How could someone from the Blue Sea even know of me? Clearly, you're a figment of my imagination!"

Enel pointed dramatically at Edie. "Disappear, illusion! You've been exposed!"

Edie's lips curled into a sly grin. "Hallucination? This guy is hilarious. Let's play along."

As Edie activated the Transparent Ring, his body began to vanish, starting from his boots and fading away inch by inch.

Enel's eyes widened, and his smirk returned. "It's true! It really is an illusion!"

But just as he was about to revel in his certainty—

BOOM!

A leather shoe slammed into his abdomen, launching him out of the temple with explosive force. Enel's body smashed through the doors, rolling across the ground in a heap before finally coming to a stop.

Coughing up bile, his mind reeled in disbelief. "Impossible…!"

When he looked back, he saw Edie, still clad in white, stepping out of the temple with an unshaken demeanor.

"How could an illusion hit me?!" Enel yelled, his voice tinged with panic.

Edie's tone was mockingly serious. "Who says hallucinations can't hit people? If I weren't an illusion, how could I touch your body? It's because I'm an illusion that I can hit you."

"Stop lying! You're not an illusion! Who are you?" Enel roared, clutching his bruised abdomen.

Edie tilted his head, feigning innocence. "But didn't you say I was an illusion? Why argue with yourself?"

Gritting his teeth, Enel raised his hand, electricity crackling violently.

"One Million Volt Discharge!"

Lightning burst from his palm, engulfing Edie in a blinding storm of thunder. The temple lit up with flashes of blue and white as the electricity surged through the air.

But as the light faded, Edie stood untouched, the attack dissipating into nothingness against a faint barrier.

"…?" Enel's expression froze in shock.

Edie chuckled, brushing off the static. "You didn't study much, did you? That wasn't anywhere near a million volts."

Enraged, Enel clapped his hands together, summoning an even greater attack. "Thirty Million Volt Thunderbird!"

A massive, phoenix-shaped bolt of lightning shot toward Edie, roaring with destructive power.

This time, Edie allowed the attack to hit. As the thunderbird collided with his body, his form shifted, the power of the Rubber Ring fully activated. He stood unfazed, the lightning coursing harmlessly over his rubberized form.

"Why doesn't it work?!" Enel shouted, eyes wide with disbelief.

"Because it's rubber," Edie replied matter-of-factly. "Your Sky Island doesn't have rubber trees, so you wouldn't know, but rubber is a natural insulator for electricity."

He paused, smirking as he added, "Although even rubber has its limits. With high enough voltage, rubber breaks down—carbonizes, in fact."

Enel growled, his frustration mounting. "Stop with the nonsense!"

Edie crossed his arms, his tone turning instructional. "You know, since you didn't go to school, let me teach you something about electricity. Think of current as a train, resistance as the tunnel the train travels through, and voltage as the force pushing the train forward. If the voltage is strong enough, it doesn't matter if there's a tunnel or not—the train can crash right through a mountain to create its own path."

Enel blinked, his confusion deepening.

"In simple terms," Edie continued with a smirk, "if you were really using 30 million volts, I'd be toast. So either your numbers are off, or physics doesn't apply to me."

To test his hypothesis, Edie pulled out a standard rubber glove from his pocket and tossed it at Enel. The glove, coated in Armament Haki, landed with a soft thud.

Enel, wary, unleashed a million-volt discharge at the glove. The lightning easily tore through it, leaving a scorched hole in the material.

Edie laughed, clapping his hands. "Fantastic! Physics still works!"

Enel's face darkened, realizing the implications. "Then why can't I hurt you?"

Edie's smile grew wider. "The answer lies in the Nika Fruit. What you're fighting isn't ordinary rubber—it's a Zoan-type ability. The fruit doesn't just give the characteristics of rubber; it fundamentally warps reality."

Enel stared, his confidence shattered as he struggled to process the revelation.

Edie leaned closer, his tone mocking. "Looks like your godhood just met its match. Now, shall we continue?"

"Alright, the test is over. Let's draw some blood."

Edie casually pulled out a lancet, taking slow steps toward Enel. "Don't be scared; it's just a little prick."

For the first time since gaining the power of the Thunder Fruit, Enel felt something alien to him—fear. His usual air of invincibility had shattered, replaced by dread.

"You... stay away!" Enel stammered, retreating instinctively. "What do you want from me?"

"Relax, it's just a blood sample." Edie's grin widened. "You're acting like I'm here to dissect you."

But Enel couldn't contain his panic. Blood? From me? His mind raced. He didn't want—no, he couldn't—let this man get his hands on it.

"Forget this! There's no gold left on this island anyway!" Enel suddenly cackled, his voice tinged with desperation. "Yeah-hahaha! Take the island, you freakish rubber man!"

In a flash of lightning, he transformed into pure energy and vanished into the sky, leaving behind only the faint sound of static.

Edie stared at the empty space where Enel once stood, expression blank. "Really? Running? It's just a blood test."

With a flick of his right hand, Edie activated another of his specialized rings—Ability Ring: Light. In five seconds, his power shifted, and he became a user of the Logia-class Light Fruit.

A burst of golden brilliance illuminated the area as Edie's body transformed into light. Without hesitation, he streaked across the sky, pursuing the fleeing god.

The Edge of Sky Island

A bolt of lightning surged through the atmosphere, landing at the edge of a towering tree. Enel materialized, gripping the trunk for support. His expression was dark, his mind in turmoil.

"That guy... He's not just rubber. Is he a Paramecia? A Logia? What the hell is he?!"

The idea of staying on Sky Island seemed absurd now. "There's no gold here, and no point fighting him... With the speed of lightning, he'll never catch—"

Before the thought could finish, a golden light appeared beside him.

Enel's eyes widened in shock as Edie materialized on the same tree, standing just a few meters away.

"...!"

Enel's jaw dropped comically, his voice trembling. "You—you're not Paramecia?! You're not rubber?! What are you?!"

Edie smirked, thoroughly enjoying the spectacle of Enel's crumbling composure. "Who said a person can only use one Devil Fruit ability? Don't underestimate technology, Sky Island monkey."

This isn't good.

Very bad, actually.

The flash of light just now... That was definitely the Light Fruit—a Logia ability! Enel quickly assessed his options. He didn't know how or why his attacks had failed, but one thing was clear: he couldn't win.

Escape!

In the span of a breath, Enel made his decision. His body began to crackle with electricity as he prepared to flee once more. But before he could fully transform into lightning, Edie moved.

With a single, fluid motion, Edie's hand shot out, gripping Enel by the throat and slamming him against the tree trunk.

Enel's mind reeled. He hadn't even seen it coming.

"Let me educate you," Edie said, his tone almost kind. "That [Heart Network] of yours? We call it [Observation Haki] down on the Blue Sea. Mine's a bit more advanced—I can even see into the future."

Enel struggled, but Edie's grip only tightened.

"The technique I'm using to pin you down is another type of Haki, called Armament Haki. That's why your Logia body can't escape me. Understand now, monkey? You can't run from me."

"Just... shut up!" Enel's voice was strained, his body crackling with electricity. "40 Million Volts: Thor!"

A deafening roar of thunder erupted as Enel unleashed his attack, his body swelling with godlike power. But the Haki-infused grip on his throat didn't budge.

"You know," Edie mused, unfazed, "if you were down in the Blue Sea, with this fruit and your abilities, you'd easily be a billion-berry pirate."

Enel glared at him, electricity still surging uselessly.

"If you trained your Haki, you could even become one of the Four Emperors—or an Admiral if you joined the Marines," Edie added, almost as if offering career advice.

"Damn it..." Enel cursed inwardly. His Thunder Fruit, which had always made him untouchable, was completely useless against this man.

"And now," Edie continued, his eyes narrowing, "let me show you the third type of Haki..."

Crimson lightning crackled in the air as Edie's gaze sharpened. A wave of overwhelming pressure radiated from him, striking Enel's very soul.

Boom!

It felt like a colossal bell had rung inside Enel's head. His vision blurred, and his knees buckled.

"...Already passed out?" Edie sighed, releasing his grip. Enel crumpled to the ground, unconscious.

"Pathetic," Edie muttered, shaking his head. "I barely used any Conqueror's Haki."

Kneeling down, he retrieved a small vial and lancet. "Let's get this over with," he said, drawing Enel's blood with clinical efficiency.

As he worked, Edie glanced at the unconscious "god" and chuckled. "Thunder Fruit, huh? Infinite, renewable energy. Perfect for what I need."

When Enel finally regained consciousness, the stars were already twinkling in the night sky. He groaned, sitting up, only to realize his wrists were shackled.

"Awake already?"

The voice made Enel's blood run cold. He turned to see Edie leaning against the tree, bathed in moonlight.

"These handcuffs... suppress my power?" Enel growled, tugging at them.

"They're called Seastone handcuffs," Edie said nonchalantly, pointing to the moon above. "By the way, do you know how far the moon is from here?"

"...What?" Enel blinked, confused.

"The answer," Edie said with a faint smile, "might surprise you."

In the original plot, Enel was defeated by Straw Hat Luffy, drove his Ark Maxim to the moon, and encountered space pirates and some small robots on the moon.

These small robots were developed by Dr. Tsukimi of the Machine Island, the same hometown as Vegapunk.

One day, Dr. Tsukimi was admiring the moon at night, and suddenly discovered an explosion on the moon.

He happened to be eating when he was startled and choked to death.

So, the little robots blew up the balloon and headed to the moon to avenge the scientist who created them.

That is to say.

Enel travels to the moon via Ark Maxim.

The little robots also went to the moon through a special balloon.

Edie doesn't see why they cant head to the Moon right now honestly

"The moon is right above us."

Edie said calmly: "And its distance from us is incredibly close, about 10,000 kilometers!"

(ps: The story about the moon is serialized on the title page in One Piece Manga chapters 428-474. I personally think that the moon in the One Piece world is very small and very close. From the size of Enel's Ship

Looking at the propeller-driven and small robot balloons landing on the moon, we can only draw one conclusion: the universe of the Pirate World has an atmosphere. ).
