Chapter 21: Chapter 21: Haki Education—Enel Gets Beat into Joining
Taiji: The Reversal of Yin and Yang!
This was a skill Natsu mastered after reaching a certain level in Taiji. He could momentarily conceal himself in the void, as if entering an alternate world, untouchable by anything in the physical realm. No matter how devastating Enel's attacks were, they couldn't reach Natsu. However, this ability wasn't invincible—Natsu could only use it for five seconds, after which it was sealed for a week.
Of course, this was due to Natsu not yet achieving full mastery. If he were as strong as Saitama the Great Demon King, he wouldn't need to dodge. He'd simply withstand the thunder without a scratch.
If Natsu's Golden Light spell reached the highest level, granting him control over Yin and Yang lightning, he could confront Enel's attacks head-on without flinching. But unfortunately, neither skill was yet up to par.
The path of cultivation is long and arduous—he'd have to think of ways to improve his defense. For example, he could layer on the Golden Bell Shield a hundred or even a thousand times over. As long as the enemy couldn't break through, he'd essentially be invincible. Even against opponents stronger than himself, he could outlast them.
"It's impossible! No way I'd stoop so low as to learn such weak powers from you!" Enel sneered, rejecting the offer once more.
"A god never loses—never will lose. 200 Million Volt Thunder God!"
After multiple clashes, Enel realized Natsu couldn't counter his higher voltages, so he unleashed his full 200 million volts. Surrounded by crackling lightning, Enel's form grew larger, and his Thunder God state significantly boosted his attack power and speed. However, he'd overlooked something: for Natsu, who wielded Armament Haki, a larger target only made things easier.
"Seems like I need to give him a lesson on discipline," Natsu sighed, shaking his head. Then he took a deep breath, focusing.
"Alright, here I come!"
His gaze turned steely as he summoned his Taiji gloves—black and white, forming a yin-yang symbol on each fist. He activated Observation and Armament Haki at their peak levels.
A loud "whoosh" echoed as Natsu moved, his body leaving afterimages. Within a single second, he had thrown hundreds of punches, like raindrops falling on Enel's massive form. Every hit landed squarely; the Thunder God form turned him into nothing more than a punching bag.
"Stop! Stop! Alright, fine, I'll join your crew!" Enel's weakened voice broke through, but Natsu kept punching, just at a slower pace.
The relentless pain left Enel's head ringing. Having not felt pain for so long, his tolerance had waned.
"I surrender! I lost. Captain Natsu, I request to join your crew," Enel's voice sounded almost pleading, his tone notably more humble.
"Oh, you could've just said that earlier! Hope I didn't hurt you too badly," Natsu laughed, feigning apology. But seeing Enel's swollen, pig-like face, he couldn't help but burst into laughter.
"Pfft, hahaha!"
Enel, exasperated, thought, That was definitely on purpose! But he accepted it—victor's privilege, after all.
"Sorry, Enel, couldn't help myself," Natsu chuckled.
"Is this the so-called god? Why does he look so funny?" laughed the little round crewmate Kumo, as he and the other crew members, including Gan Fall and the Shandian warriors, arrived.
"Ahem, kumo, that's enough," Natsu said with a cough, proceeding to introduce Enel to the rest of the crew.
"It worked?" Gan Fall asked, unable to believe it as he looked at Enel's battered face.
"Yep, from now on, there's no more God Enel on Sky Island—only Enel, a crew member of the Smile Pirates," Natsu affirmed.
"Thank goodness!" Gan Fall sighed with relief. Enel's brutal reign had lasted just over a year, but the tales of his cruelty were well-known. The destruction of his homeland, Birka, was proof enough. For the residents of Sky Island, Enel's defeat was nothing short of a blessing.
"Alright, everyone, while we're all here, I've got great news—Enel has hoarded a massive amount of gold for his ship. Let's go pack it up!" Natsu announced, smiling.
"Really, Captain?! °˖✧︎◝︎(⁰▿︎⁰)◜︎✧︎˖°"
"Of course!"
Kumo smirked, patting Enel's arm in mock approval, "Alright, I officially approve of you joining!"
Just then, a stern voice rang out.
"Stop right there!"
Turning around, they saw Wiper, the Shandian warrior, clutching his bazooka tightly.
"Something on your mind?" Natsu turned, his eyes narrowing. In an instant, Conqueror's Haki filled the air, casting an overwhelming pressure across the area. The Shandian warriors with Wiper could barely withstand the shock, their eyes rolling back as they collapsed one by one.
Even Wiper, the strongest of the Shandians, found himself struggling. He dropped to one knee, using his bazooka to steady himself. Sweat poured down his face, but his gaze remained locked on Natsu.
"You—"
"Apologies, but I dislike people pointing weapons at me. That was just a bit of intimidation; they're merely unconscious," Natsu said coldly.
"Conqueror's Haki!" Gan Fall exclaimed, his face full of awe.
"You know this power, Gan Fall?" Enel immediately appeared beside him, intrigued.
"Yes, I've seen it before—around twenty years ago. A pirate named Roger once used it. Scared me out of my wits at the time, haha!" Gan Fall laughed, recalling the memory.
"Roger?! The Pirate King!" Karina gasped, covering her mouth in shock. Even the normally stoic Gin glanced at Natsu with newfound respect—clearly, their captain was no ordinary man.
"Oh, come on, it's just a basic skill," Natsu said nonchalantly.
"Now, as I was saying, may I ask what you wanted, sir?"
