One Piece: Rise of Valoria

Chapter 5: Chapter 5: "Beneath the Flames"

The echoes of chaos reverberated through Ohara as the sun dipped low in the sky, casting long shadows over the island. William leaned against a crumbling wall, panting heavily, his mind racing. He had faced off against one of the CP9 agents, a master of the Navy Six Styles, and while he fought bravely, his opponent's skill and ruthlessness had proven too much.

"Get up, William! We need to go!" Robin's voice broke through his haze of defeat. She had just arrived, breathless and wide-eyed, her usually calm demeanor fraying at the edges.

"Robin, I—" he began, but she cut him off.

"No time for that! They're coming! We have to escape!" She reached out a hand to him, her dark eyes filled with urgency.

Despite his bruised pride, William could see the desperation in her gaze. He pushed himself off the wall, grimacing at the pain shooting through his limbs. "You shouldn't be here! It's too dangerous!"

"I'm not leaving you behind!" she retorted, her determination igniting a fire within him.

They darted through the narrow streets of Ohara, weaving between the growing chaos. Flames flickered in the distance, and the acrid scent of smoke filled the air, intensifying with each hurried step. The Buster Call had begun, and with it, the destruction of their home.

"Why are they doing this?" William gasped, barely keeping pace with Robin as they turned a corner. "We haven't done anything wrong!"

"Wrong place, wrong time," Robin replied grimly, her mind racing as they navigated the crumbling structures. "To them, knowledge is a threat."

As they ran, the sounds of battle filled the air—explosions, cries of panic, and the unmistakable clanking of armor. The Navy had come to crush everything in their path, and the flames were spreading, consuming the library, their sanctuary, and the heart of their home.

"William, look!" Robin pointed ahead to a narrow alley that led towards the outskirts of the town. "We can escape through there!"

Without hesitation, they sprinted toward the alley, but just as they reached it, a figure emerged from the shadows—one of the CP9 agents, his smirk all too confident. "Did you really think you could escape?" he taunted, his stance steady and poised for a fight.

William stepped forward, fists clenched. "You'll have to get through me first!"

The agent chuckled darkly. "You think you can stop me? I've dealt with countless weaklings like you."

With a burst of energy, William lunged forward, throwing a punch fueled by all his frustration and anger. But the CP9 agent sidestepped effortlessly, countering with a swift kick that caught William off guard, sending him crashing to the ground.

"William!" Robin cried out, her heart racing.

As the agent prepared to strike again, Robin sprang into action. "Get away from him!" she shouted, using her agility to slip past him. She grabbed William's arm, pulling him back just in time as the agent's attack whizzed past them.

"We can't fight him head-on!" she urged, urgency lacing her voice. "We need to get out of here!"

With adrenaline coursing through them, they took off again, dodging past flames licking at the edges of their path. But the chaos was intensifying, and they could hear the shouts of soldiers behind them, searching for survivors.

William felt his heart sink as they approached the outer edge of the town. "What if we can't escape? What if this is it?"

"Stop it! We're going to make it!" Robin snapped, her determination reigniting his own. "I won't lose you. Not now, not ever!"

As they sprinted toward a small boat hidden in the underbrush, the flames roared behind them, closing in like a beast eager to consume everything in its path. The acrid smoke burned in their lungs, but they pressed on, driven by the bond that had kept them strong through every hardship.

Finally, they reached the boat, but just as they were about to climb aboard, a loud explosion erupted behind them, shaking the ground and sending debris flying. The CP9 agent had followed them, and he was closing in.

"Go! I'll hold him off!" William shouted, knowing full well how reckless that sounded.

Robin shook her head fiercely. "No! We fight together, or not at all!"

William felt his chest tighten as he met her determined gaze. She was right; they had faced everything together, and he wouldn't let her face this danger alone.

With a surge of energy, they prepared to fight side by side, their hearts beating as one amidst the chaos and flames.
