Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Landing in Birka

"Ah!!!"

The severe pain forced Urouge to abandon his usual smile as he clutched his broken right hand, wailing in agony on the ground.

Without consuming the mysterious fruit, he couldn't transform the pain into strength, making it impossible to endure the intense suffering.

"Boom!"

Asa followed up with another punch, striking Urouge on the head. His earlier earth-shattering scream might have been heard by others, and Asa couldn't stay there much longer.

Dragging along two people—a dead man and a half-dead one—he quickly made his way to the edge of the large hole in the circular cloud road where the Express Shrimp had brought him up and threw them both down.

The reason Asa spared Urouge's life was his curiosity to see whether, through this experience, Urouge could become a supernova in the future and if Asa's intervention could alter the course of destiny.

After finishing, Asa lifted the Waver parked nearby, activated the switch linked to the exhaust shell, and set off toward the calculated southeast.

"Chug-tug-tug-tug!!"

Driving the Waver wasn't easy—it required understanding wind patterns and sea currents. However, these weren't major obstacles for Asa. After just a couple of tries, he mastered it.

For a seasoned navigator, there was only one word to describe him—stable!

With the sea breeze blowing as he gradually left Angel Island behind, Asa pressed the exhaust shell to its limit, riding the wind and waves toward Birka Island.

Meanwhile

Not long after Asa's departure, a group of armored men with wings on their backs arrived at the scene of Asa and Urouge's fight.

"Captain Malkin, we found signs of a struggle. There's untreated blood on the island's clouds!" one guard reported to an upper-ranking Sky Islander, who placed his hand on his head and extended his middle finger in thought.

"Are there any witnesses to this incident?" Malkin frowned. "Who first heard the screams?"

"Murder is forbidden on Sky Island," he added gravely. "Death row prisoners are sent down the floating cloud streams to the White Sea, where they meet their end—either in the depths of the ocean or at the jaws of sea kings."

"There are no direct witnesses, sir. The one who heard the screams was Paige; he was returning from fishing at the time," another soldier explained hesitantly.

"Captain, we found a pair of wings here!" A shocked guard pointed to a discarded pair of bird wings behind the pavilion.

"What?" Malkin's composed expression turned grim. For Angel Islanders, wings are a source of pride, and their desecration is the greatest insult.

Now, the wings lay abandoned while their owner was missing. A murder had likely occurred. Who dared commit such a heinous act, defying the sacred rules of Sky Island?

"Quick! Report this to God!" The team hurriedly cleaned up the scene and rushed toward the Island of Gods.

Asa, unaware of the events unfolding behind him, continued his journey far from Angel Island. Few on Angel Island knew the location of Birka, and Asa felt confident he was safe.

Even if they pursued him, he was unafraid. By then, he believed he would have claimed the Thunder Fruit's power.

The Waver, now pushed to its limits, carved a path through the water, sending droplets splashing into the air.

Nightfall

The stars shone brightly in the night sky as darkness fell. Sky Island, perched 10,000 meters above the ground, experienced longer nights and brighter stars than the Blue Sea below. The celestial display seemed almost within reach, with the moon appearing massive and luminous.

Asa continued his journey, but as time passed, the Waver's power diminished. He realized the wind stored in the exhaust shell was nearly depleted and needed replenishing.

Stopping the Waver, he lay down closing his eyes to rest. His stomach growled, but he had no food reserves, resolving to fish in the White Sea for raw sustenance.

Fortunately, the White Sea's fish were abundant and lacked any fishy odor, making them tolerable to eat raw.

After a short nap, Asa awoke and exercised for two hours before resuming his journey at sunrise.

Arrival

Two days later, just as Asa was beginning to doubt his direction and considering a course change, an island appeared on the horizon.

From afar, he saw towering green trees lining a white coastline, with smoke curling up from cooking stoves as the island's residents began their day. The aroma of food wafted over the sea, reaching Asa even from a distance.

Asa's tense expression relaxed at last. He was certain this was the island he had dreamed of—Birka!

Here's the corrected and polished version of the passage with the requested replacements applied:

After considering his options, Asa decided not to rush onto the island. He spent a few hours navigating his Waver around Birka Island, roughly estimating its size and features.

The island was not very large, just slightly bigger than Gaya Island in the Blue Sea. One side was covered in forest, while the other housed a village. Though there were no official population statistics, Asa estimated it to be in the range of several thousand to tens of thousands.

Parking the Waver in the forest for cover, Asa stepped onto the island where his grand ambitions would take flight.

Standing at the edge of the forest, he allowed a small smirk to form at the corners of his mouth. His deep, dark eyes reflected his dreams of a powerful future, fueled by unrelenting determination.

"In a world so terrifying, where cities are razed, countries fall, and islands are wiped out in the blink of an eye, I, Asa, will not live an ordinary life. I will leave behind a glorious and indelible legacy to show the world that I was here!"

Emerging from the forest, Asa ventured into a bustling area.

The Daoyun-style buildings stood neatly aligned, arranged with a sense of balance and order. On the streets, people greeted one another warmly, creating an atmosphere of friendliness and harmony.

However, the mood shifted slightly when the townsfolk noticed Asa. His lack of wings drew quick glances of disdain, but they did not seem entirely surprised to see a stranger.

"It seems that Enel was despised and mistreated by the people of Birka because he lacked wings," Asa muttered to himself. "They viewed him as an outsider, and that hatred likely fueled his desire to destroy this place that brought him so much grief."

His murmured words were meant for himself, but his steady strides through the streets were unbothered by the curious or judgmental looks.

Unlike Angel Island, where at least a few people were aware of the Blue Sea beneath them, Birka was far more isolated. Asa guessed that its inhabitants had likely never even heard of the Blue Sea, living their lives like frogs at the bottom of a well, staring up at the sky and mistaking it for the entire world.

"Heh," Asa chuckled softly, amused by the narrow worldview of the islanders.

He continued exploring the streets and alleys, undeterred by the stares. His primary mission was clear—finding the Thunder Fruit.

"Why is there another wingless freak in Birka?"

"Who knows? Maybe it has something to do with that other little monster!"

Some residents whispered to one another, while others loudly voiced their disdain, making no effort to hide their contempt as Asa walked by.

"Asa's sharp gaze flickered coldly at their words. With such mean-spirited people, it was no wonder that Enel had abandoned any sense of camaraderie or friendship. Asa almost felt the urge to lash out, to silence their jeers permanently.

He clenched his fists but restrained himself. His goals were far more important than indulging in fleeting anger.
