Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Instant Kill
###
"Then... then I'll generously tell you~"
Standing at the bow of the ship, Tashigi shyly recited the lines Kyle had just given her.
Kyle: "To prevent the world from being destroyed!"
Tashigi: "To... to maintain peace in the universe..."
"To uphold love and true evil!"
"Cute and... and charming villains."
"Kyle."
"Tashigi."
"We are the Twilight Pirates, roaming the East Blue!"
"Treasure! A shining tomorrow awaits us."
"That's it~ meow~"
Little Diga, who had suddenly appeared between the two, adorably curled his small hands into cat paws, joining Kyle in this cringy yet amusing performance.
Unlike Tashigi, Little Diga didn't feel embarrassed at all. In fact, he found it quite fun.
Swish! Swish!
As soon as the words were spoken, the two figures at the bow leaped into action.
In full view of everyone, Kyle and Tashigi landed on the platform, facing Alvida directly.
Kyle looked up with a smile.
"Alvida Pirates?"
"I never expected to run into you here."
As he spoke, his eyes gleamed with a golden light as he looked at the fat woman before him.
No wonder the pink swan-shaped pirate ship at the port had seemed familiar.
So, they had encountered an "old acquaintance"~
Back when Kyle was browsing art on certain websites, he had seen plenty of fan art of Alvida.
Whether it was NEL or ZEL...
He had spent countless hours admiring her... post-Slip-Slip Fruit transformation, of course. The current Alvida before him was far from that.
But Kyle's excitement wasn't about any carnal desires—it was about Alvida's bounty!!!
5 million Beri was enough for him to buy five gacha spins!
"Who are you people?"
Seeing the two suddenly appear in such a bizarre manner, a flash of panic crossed Alvida's狰狞 (ferocious) face.
Her instincts told her...
These two were trouble!
But Kyle clearly had no interest in chatting with a walking pile of Beri.
He simply gave the order:
"Tashigi, handle her. Take her down!"
"Yes, Captain!"
With a cold glint, Tashigi's soul-cutting blade was unsheathed, and a bright light flashed across her glasses.
Eager to test her newfound strength, Tashigi sprang into action.
When it came to pirates, she had no mercy.
True to her swordsman's nature, she swung her blade with precision, the sharp sound of cutting through air echoing.
"Dammit!"
Seeing Tashigi charging at her, Alvida felt a surge of anger.
She, a pirate with a 5 million Beri bounty, was being ignored!?
And by a delicate young girl, no less!
She hated women prettier than her!!!
"If you won't talk, then you'll never talk again!"
The massive spiked club was raised high, stirring up a fierce wind.
In front of Tashigi, Alvida looked like a collapsing mountain.
The difference in their sizes was staggering.
The townsfolk and Coby, who was holding up the platform, could already imagine the gruesome scene of Tashigi being impaled by the club.
Some of the more timid ones even closed their eyes.
But the next second...
Clang!
A clear, resonant metallic clash reverberated across the port.
The gleaming blade met the thick spiked club.
The slender sword showed no signs of retreating. Instead, it seemed excited, as if it had been waiting for this moment.
"Zan Sayuri!"
Swish!
A cold glint flashed in Tashigi's eyes.
The sharp Zanpakutō sliced through the metal club as if it were tofu, cutting it clean in two.
"What!? How is this possible!?"
Seeing her trusted club, which had been with her for years, being sliced apart so easily, Alvida's chubby, freckled face twisted in shock.
But what was even more terrifying...
The Zanpakutō, having cut through the club, didn't lose momentum. It continued its arc, aiming straight for Alvida's chest!
Splat!!!
An instant kill!
Blood mixed with fat splattered onto the ground.
"Ahhh!!!"
Under the force of the slash, Alvida let out a scream, her body toppling backward and crashing onto the platform.
"Damn it..."
Despite the pain in her chest, she wasn't ready to give up. Struggling, she tried to get back on her feet.
But at that moment, a brown leather boot stomped down on her shoulder, pinning her to the ground.
"Give up, Miss Alvida."
"If you want to live..."
The deep barrel of a gun appeared in her line of sight, aimed directly at her forehead, like an abyss ready to swallow her life.
Behind the gun was Kyle's handsome, mocking smile.
"You... who are you people?"
Feeling the weight on her shoulder, Alvida instantly realized...
Their pirate crew was done for!
These two were on a completely different level!
Hearing Alvida's question, Kyle lightly waved his gun, seeing that she had stopped resisting. He chuckled.
"Seems like your crew's intel isn't up to par~"
"The main character of the biggest news in the East Blue these past few days is right in front of you, and you still don't recognize him?"
This wasn't Kyle being arrogant.
Over the past three days, every newspaper in the East Blue had been reporting on Kyle's hijacking of a female Marine in Loguetown.
Even the famous World Economic News had dedicated a small section to him.
His name was now known throughout the East Blue.
Some pirates were even planning to follow his example and make a name for themselves in Loguetown.
Taking the hint, Alvida squinted her eyes, studying Kyle carefully. Then, her face filled with fear once more.
"You're that Kyle who caused chaos in Loguetown!?"
"The one and only!"
Kyle replied, looking down at her.
"Unfortunately, your pirate crew has been defeated."
"According to pirate tradition, all your loot now belongs to me!"
"You don't have any objections, do you?"
"Gulp~"
Lying on the ground, staring at the gun barrel that seemed ready to fire at any moment, Alvida swallowed hard in fear.
"...N-no."
"Good!"
Kyle holstered his gun and grinned.
"I like talking to smart people!"
"Tashigi, tie her up."
"Got it."
Tashigi, the ever-reliable tool, stepped forward, muttering an incantation.
In the next moment, to Alvida's shock, a golden energy rope shot out from Tashigi's fingertip.
"Bakudō #4: Hainawa (Crawling Rope)!"
With Tashigi's soft command, the golden chain snaked through the air like a living serpent, wrapping Alvida up like a dumpling and covering her ugly face.
The spiritual energy chain wouldn't cut off air, so even if it completely enveloped someone, it wouldn't suffocate them.
"Such a handy move."
Kyle licked his lips in envy, praising her.
Although before awakening, Tashigi only had Kidō as a skill and couldn't use her Zanpakutō's true power, Kidō was divided into three types: Hadō (destructive spells), Bakudō (binding spells), and Kaidō (healing spells).
As Tashigi's level increased, she would eventually master all of Kidō.
This one skill could essentially be used as hundreds!
In comparison, Kyle's "Super Intuition," also an A-rank skill, aside from being cool and allowing him to predict the future, felt almost nonexistent.
Unless it was intentional or the power gap was too large, letting an enemy get close or launch an attack was practically an insult to his identity as a transmigrator!
Kyle could only hope that his second awakened skill would be more useful, allowing him to truly shine!
Looking toward the town still shrouded in smoke, Kyle turned to Tashigi and said:
"There are still plenty of pirates in the town. Go clean them up."
He added:
"Dead or alive."
"Yes."
Tashigi acknowledged the order, gripping her Zanpakutō and dashing off.
Despite her gentle demeanor, as a Marine Petty Officer who had come from Marine HQ, Tashigi's hands were already stained with the blood of countless pirates.
When it came to killing, Kyle, who had yet to take a life, might hesitate, but Tashigi never would!
Watching the agile and graceful girl leave the port, Kyle ignored Alvida's bleeding wounds and hoisted her up.
Then, he turned to the port and shouted:
"Is the mayor of Will Town here?"
