One Piece: My Name is Jack, I'm Very Resistant to Beating

Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Are You Sure They're Not Your Kids?

Kaido transformed into his Azure Dragon form, a single blast of his fiery breath incinerating several fleeing pirates in the distance. Yamato and Black Maria leapt onto his back, but when Jack tried to join them, Kaido swatted him down with a flick of his massive tail. Frustrated, Jack stretched out his hands and grabbed onto Kaido's dragon claw as it swept over him.

After returning to Onigashima and taking a bath, Jack headed straight to the banquet hall in the pleasure quarters. Master and Rim had already prepared a feast to celebrate their victory. Hungry from the intense battle, Jack eagerly anticipated the meal.

Inside the hall, Yamato was devouring food with single-minded determination, while Kaido and the others enjoyed the graceful dance of several women clad in leopard-print attire. As soon as Jack sat down, Kaido waved his hand, dismissing the dancers. They bowed respectfully and retreated from the room.

Jack's gaze lingered on the retreating dancers until Black Maria dripped venom onto his hand, snapping him out of it.

"Oi, Kaido-sama, did you seriously say you want me to haul bricks?" Jack complained. "We've got so many people now. Do I really have to do it? That's stingy even for you!"

Kaido's stern expression shut him up quickly. Jack turned to Rim, sitting across from him.

"Hey, Rim. How's that sword? Good fit?"

"Hahaha! It's amazing!" Rim grinned, drawing the longsword to show everyone. "This has got to be one of the 21 Great Grade Blades! Its weight, sharpness—everything about it is perfect! Once I get the hang of it, my swordsmanship will definitely level up! Jack-san, thanks a ton!"

"As long as you're happy with it," Jack said, relieved that Kaido's attention had shifted away from him.

After stealing a glance at Yamato, who was nearly burying her face in her plate, Jack sighed.

You eat so much, but where does it all go? Look at Black Maria—now look at you! What a waste.

Once everyone was full and satisfied, Kaido called Jack aside.

"Jack! Follow me."

Kaido didn't seem drunk, so Jack reluctantly followed. So much for spending some quality time with Maria... You just had to ruin my plans, didn't you?

Kaido led him out of the pleasure quarters without a word. Jack grew curious but decided not to ask any questions.

Better to stay quiet. Who knows? One wrong word, and I might get tossed off Onigashima.

They finally stopped in front of a tall building. The sounds of shouting and children crying spilled out from inside. Jack immediately recognized where they were.

The building housed the Beast Pirates' orphanage, home to the children of fallen crew members or gifted orphans taken in by the crew. Kaido had personally ordered its creation years ago, surprising Jack with the realization that even someone as ruthless as Kaido had a softer side.

Kaido pushed open the doors and stepped inside, Jack trailing behind. A group of women caring for the children quickly gathered to greet him.

"Kaido-sama!"

"Get back to work," he commanded.

The children here were all under ten years old, still in their carefree, playful years. Older kids were sent elsewhere for further training—it was like moving from kindergarten to grade school.

Jack's eyes immediately fell on Ulti and her brother, Page One. The commotion earlier had come from them.

Ulti was straddling another child, beating them mercilessly, while a group of kids lay on the ground sobbing. Page One stood to the side, trying to calm her down, but his efforts were in vain. Ulti's small fists rained down on her victim, making the poor kid bawl even louder.

A caretaker was desperately trying to pull Ulti off, but the girl's strength, impressive for her age, made it impossible.

Kaido's gaze also turned toward the chaos, and Jack quickly called out, "Hey! Ulti! What are you doing?"

"Kaido-sama! Jack!" Ulti immediately stopped and scrambled off the crying child, dragging Page One along as she ran over to them.

"Heh, this kid's got energy," Kaido said with a chuckle. "Alright, come on. I'll take you somewhere new."

Jack followed Kaido, utterly baffled.

You're this busy, and you're personally handling these two? Couldn't you have sent someone else? Are they seriously not your kids?

When they stopped in front of a familiar door, Jack's confusion deepened.

Wait, isn't this… my old room?

"You two will stay here for now," Kaido told the siblings. "This used to be Jack's room. I'll have Black Maria come by later to keep you company."

Kaido then pulled two small boxes from his pocket and handed them to Jack.

"Jack! Take these two Devil Fruits."

"Devil Fruits?!" Jack blurted out, accepting the boxes.

"Both are Ancient Zoan types," Kaido explained. "Bring them to the treasure room on the top floor. Here's the key."

Jack stared at the key in disbelief. "But isn't the top floor the training room? Since when is it a treasure room?"

Kaido ignored him and walked off.

Jack looked at the kids and sighed.

You let Ulti know where the fruits are, then tell me to leave the key in their room? You're practically giving them these fruits. And two Ancient Zoans, no less!

Shaking his head, Jack hung the key on the wall.

"You two rest for now. Maria will be here soon."

Then, with a hiccup, he added, "I'm off to drink... hic."
