One Piece: Marine Luffy, Garp regrets it

Chapter 16: Chapter 16

After dinner, the grandfather and grandson combo cleaned up the table and returned to the living room.

Garp sat on the sofa without any care to his image, covered his stomach and burped, then turned to Luffy who was doing the same and asked:

"Zephyr said that the Elite Camp's classes will start in half a month.

What do you want to do during this free time? Do you just want to laze around?"

"I don't know."

Luffy rubbed his stomach and looked up at the ceiling. He had been in the new recruit camp for a whole year, living a repetitive and boring life every day.

Now he was suddenly released, and he is a little confuse, not knowing what to do.

Seeing this, Garp smiled and said his thoughts directly.

"Take a rest for three days and go out to sea with me.

After training for so long, you must have wanted to try it out for a long time."

Go out to sea?"

As soon as the word flashed through his mind, Luffy jumped up.

"Great, that is a great idea, this is a good opportunity to go out to sea and catch a pirate." Luffy couldn't help but tremble with excitement when he thought about sailing on the sea on a warship.

"Then It's decided. You should have a good rest in the next three days.

I will also check where there are traces of pirates recently.

Then I will show you a real battle."

"Yes, Vice Admiral Garp!"

Garp :....

According to what he had agreed with Garp, Luffy will have three days of rest.

On the second day of rest, Luffy met his childhood nanny Hanni. He also met Hanni's husband, Zier, and their child, Nina, a little girl of the same age as him. After having a meal at the other party's house, Luffy gave some gifts and went to find his childhood playmates.

Most of them were children of some high ranking marine officer, and he didn't go to them for fun.

The main purpose was to accumulate connections.

On the last day, Luffy was much freer.

Early in the morning, he specifically asked Garp for some Berry, and walked around the entire headquarters.

In a well-received weapon store, he bought a short sword and a pistol.

At first, the owner of the store saw that he was a child and didn't intend to sell it to him.

Until he saw Luffy's ID and the surname "Monkey" on the ID.

The owner happily sold the weapons to him and gave him a discount enthusiastically.

Luffy also reciprocated, patting his chest and promising that he would introduce friends to shop here in the future.

The boss also gave him a hundred rounds of ammunition and a complete set of sword maintenance tools....

On the morning of the fourth day, Luffy got up early without Garp calling him. He was dressed neatly and waiting in the living room.

Garp came downstairs and saw Luffy with a sword and a gun on his left and right. He was stunned for a moment.

"Hey, Luffy, why are you bringing these? Are your swordsmanship and shooting skills that good in the new recruit camp?"

Shaking his head, then nodding, in Garp's confused expression, Luffy said seriously:

"My swordsmanship is OK, and my gunmanship is just so-so.

But none of that matters, as long as I look good."

Hearing this answer, Garp's face darkened instantly, and his fists clenched tightly.

But in the end, he didn't stop it. strong men on the sea all have some quirks.

As long as this kid doesn't get in the way and doesn't mess up, he won't bother too much.

"Humph, follow me."

Leaving this sentence, Garp turned and left.

Luffy hurriedly followed, walking step by step behind him, looking like a dutiful follower.

As usual, as long as Garp appeared, many people would salute and greet him.

But this time, everyone's eyes were not all on Garp.

Instead, they were attracted by the boy behind him, and their eyes revealed curiosity.

Garp would definitely not explain too much to them, but just smiled and nodded at them, and then left.

Crossing the square, leaving the area where the marine and civilians lived together.

Walking all the way to the port, the two stopped in front of a conspicuous dog-head warship.

"Vice Admiral Garp, everything is ready and we can set off at any time."

While Luffy was still looking around curiously, a serious man wearing a brown top hat and a brown suit came over and reported to Garp.

Garp nodded and strode towards the warship with a smile.

"Let's go, let's go to Ferrier Island first."

Bogart glanced at Luffy, nodded and followed him.

Seeing that the two had gone aboard, Luffy hurried to catch up. After getting on the ship, Bogart immediately arranged for the marines to raise the anchor and lower the sails.

Garp walked to the bow, crossed his arms and looked at something.

Luffy followed him silently, looking back from time to time, curious about everything.

"Seaman First Class, what are you looking at?"

"Ah? Grandpa, what?"

Garp's sudden words made Luffy unable to react at first.

After a few seconds, he realized that he is a Seaman First Class, and he also understood what Garp meant.

"Yes, Vice Admiral, I'll help the crew!"

After leaving these words, Luffy quickly turned around and joined the crew operate the ship.

Although he had only learned it from books, after watching the veterans' operations several times, he could quickly help out.

After arranging everything, Bogart looked at the serious and diligent Luffy, turned around and came to Garp, and said with emotion:

"Luffy has grown up. It seems that he will soon become the excellent marine you expect."

Hearing Bogart's praise, Garp's mouth corners unconsciously raised.

But he still said sternly:

"Humph, that kid is still far from it."

Bogart did not comment, turned his head and looked at Luffy, and said jokingly:

"I think it won't be long before he surpasses you, and then you can retire and enjoy your free time.

I can also relax a little and change to a more leisurely position."

Garp:...(# ̄︿ ̄).....

After the warship departed smoothly from the port, Luffy's mission was completed.

Next, the sails will be operated by experienced marines, and the rest of the people have returned to their posts.

Looking around, it seems that he is the only one with nothing to do.

Just when Luffy was struggling whether to go to Garp to ask, his shoulder was gently patted from behind.

Turning his head in confusion, Luffy immediately saw a familiar face.

Hanni's husband, Lieutenant Zier, smiled and winked at him, then put his hands behind his back and said seriously:

"Private, follow me, I have a mission for you."

"...Yes!"
