Chapter 8: 08 Gion and Tokikake
"Gion, there seems to be a good show over there, let's go and take a look?"
Tokikake followed Momousagi's footsteps and said in a flattering way.
Momousagi sighed helplessly, "Tokikake, don't you have something important to do today?"
Rear Admiral Gion was annoyed by Rear Admiral Tokikake's persistence, so she used an excuse to go out for a walk. However, he followed her anyway.
Tokikake grinned, revealing a row of jagged teeth. "Nothing's more important than you, Gion."
"...Let's go have a look,"
Momousagi said, feeling helpless about her persistent admirer.
She had rejected him more than once, but Tokikake's enthusiasm never waned. She had already rejected his confession 42 times.
Sometimes she got so angry she wanted to beat him up, but whenever they sparred, Tokikake would deliberately lose, making it hard for her to beat him up.
If Tokikake wasn't such a decent person and if the relationship between Rear Admirals weren't so delicate, Momousagi might have considered asking Sister Tsuru for help.
Through everyone's conversation, the Tokikake quickly figured out what was happening here.
"It turns out that a few boys were fighting. There's nothing interesting to see. Why don't we go to the backstreets together? I heard that a good dessert shop opened there recently."
"No, I would like to see how new marines recruits do in this elite camp." Momousagi said calmly.
"Alright, I'll help clear the way,"
Tokikake said, straightening his back and putting on a serious face. He then coughed several times,
"Ahem!"
Tokikake's loud cough drew attention, making someone to joke around,
"Whoever's coughing that loudly must have lung disease, right?"
Tokikake's face darkened at the remark.
"Tea...Tokikake Rear Admiral!"
"And Momousagi Rear Admiral!"
The scene that was bustling with people just now suddenly became quiet.
The brave young man just lowered his head silently.
The crowd naturally spread to both sides and made way for them. This is the benefit of fame.
"Okay Gion, let's go in."
As Tokikake glanced at Momousagi, a flattering smile spread across his face once more.
Marines have long been accustomed to this. After all, Rear Admiral's Tokikake reputation as a big licker is well-known in Marines Headquarters.
In the center of the field, four Marines drew out their Marine swords, winked at each other, and attacked Lynch together.
Bang!
Gunshots echoed through the air.
A bullet went straight to Moshili.
"Just a little trick. Based on the bullet's path, the target is...the thigh!"
Moshili grinned proudly and skillfully deflected the bullet with a satisfying "ding" sound.
"Why is there another shot!"
However, the next moment, Moshili was horrified to find that there was another bullet after the bullet he had knocked away.
In the blink of an eye, he couldn't block another one with his sword, and the bullet hit his nose with precision amidst the lightning flash.
Ding dong~
The sword clattered to the ground, and Moshili winced in pain, clutching his nose reddened by the practice bullet.
It turned out Lynch had drawn two guns and fired them simultaneously. The shots were so closely timed that they sounded like just one.
"What a cunning boy, and his shooting skills are quite good." Momousagi laughed and scolded.
Seeing Momousagi smile, even Tokikake seemed to warm up to Lynch a bit more.
The others were even more shocked when they saw Moshili defeated.
"Whether it's true or not, He's been in the same spot from the start. Just how strong is Lynch?" the man exclaimed.
"Why do I feel like we are in trouble?" Moshili mumbled as he reluctantly made his way to the side of the field, his eyes red with frustration.
If that bullet had been real, he'd be dead for sure
After firing all the bullet, Lynch neatly tossed the gun aside.
No way around it, guns need reloading after each shot in this world. With the enemy before him, there's no time to reload.
"Get Down!"
"Charge!"
Three Marine swords swung from different angles. Lynch's eyes narrowed as he said, "Shave!"
His figure disappeared from the place as if teleporting, leaving only afterimages.
The attack failed, and the three of them were shocked, "It's so fast."
"Shave."
Lynch materialized next to the short-haired man like a ghost and delivered a powerful punch to his side.
If he's just starting to use "Shave," he definitely can't use it twice in a row. However, his "Shave" has been upgraded with mall items.
"Ugh~"
The short-haired man was knocked to the ground, rolling twice. As he lifted his upper body, he retched, as if about to spit bile.
"Shave?"
Momousagi glanced at Tokikake with a questioning look. "If I recall correctly, Teacher Zephyr didn't start teaching Marine Six Styles until the second week at the elite camp. Today..."
Tokikake followed up after Momousagi, "Based on the elite camp's annual selection schedule, this is the ninth day since they joined."
"Just one day,"
Tokikake exclaimed, also taken aback. It had taken him half a week to understand "Shave." Could this kid's talent be even greater than his own?
Momousagi smiled and remarked, "Looks like Teacher Zephyr has found us a promising junior."
Never underestimate the retired Admiral's capabilities, especially one who's been an instructor for 16 years.
Currently, almost 60% of Marine's senior management were taught by Zephyr. "It's amazing. I've already defeated half of him. This Lynch is so fierce."
"I guess I shouldn't mess with Lynch anymore. I don't want to end up looking like a pig's head,"
Remarked people in the crowd. Lynch defeated them both consecutively, sparking an uproar in the crowd.
Joseph stared at his fallen comrades in horror, then turned to Lynch with fear in his eyes.
"Hey, you used 'Shave,' didn't you?"
Lynch simply nodded, unfazed.
"Damn, we haven't even learned Moonwalk yet and you've mastered 'Shave'?"
Joseph exclaimed, horrified. What kind of monster was this? It was clear they'd bitten off more than they could chew by picking a fight with him.
They probably picked an environment where Moonwalk couldn't be used on purpose. In the eyes of the other side, they must look like clowns.
Joseph exchanged glances with his remaining companions, silently communicating:
"Still fighting?"
"Sure it is not!"
With determination, they tossed their Marine swords aside and cried out, "We surrender!"
Lynch glanced at the discarded Marine sword with a smile. "So, are you all ready to admit defeat?"
"Yes, we are admitting defeat"
Joseph lamented, feeling like crying but unable to shed tears. Was he destined to get a thorough beating today?
"But sadly, I can't accept that. You wanted to fight, and now you want to admit defeat? It's not that simple."
Lynch's hand drew closer, prompting Joseph and the other man to close their eyes in fear.
Instead of the expected beating, Lynch gave them each a sharp slap on the head.
"Your life is your own. Don't act recklessly next time, and don't try to take the lead after being criticized by others. It's very dangerous behaviour, especially in battle."
"I'm sorry, Brother Lynch!"
The two of them burst into tears, deeply moved and impressed by Lynch's generosity.
It truly moved them to tears, and the tears turned into fountains. Lynch couldn't help but marvel once again at the wonders of the human body in this world.
