One Piece - I'm Whitebeard

If they fought here, the power unleashed by Akainu and Whitebeard would surely cause countless deaths, which is naturally what Whitebeard does not want to see.

However, even though he agreed to Akainu's request, it doesn't mean that Whitebeard didn't understand what Akainu was thinking of.

"Akainu, I know that you have prepared a strong lineup for me, but it doesn't matter. I just want to see how great your abilities are, and what my limits are." Whitebeard said as he flew with Akainu.

Whitebeard knew Akainu wanted to lure him to a place where he could be easily dealt with, but he didn't mind. 

He actually looked forward to it because, in all his battles, he had never pushed his limits.

Whitebeard also wants to know whether he can see and surpass his limits in battle, and to do this, he needs external pressure. 

Therefore, Whitebeard hopes that the more prepared the Marine is, the stronger they are, the more possible he will surpass his limit. 

At this point, Akainu was pleased with the agreement and cooperated willingly.

"Whitebeard, you understand, but your calm look—are you underestimating our Marine power?" Akainu asked with a grim tone.

"Not at all. I look forward to this fight. The Marine Headquarters has a long history. Though I am a pirate, I don't hate the Marines. Many evil pirates in this world need to be kept in check. I just hate certain individuals" Whitebeard said with a smile.

Akainu didn't reply, but his expression turned sour. Whitebeard's words were clearly referring to himself. 

In his mind, Akainu cursed: Whitebeard, be proud while you can. Soon, you'll witness the true power of the Marines, and you'll be begging for mercy!

Akainu feels that this battle Marine is already determined to win. They have prepared too much power and spent a lot of military expenses to deal with Whitebeard, but Akainu feels it is worth it.

Because as long as Whitebeard can be defeated, Marine's prestige will return to its peak, even beyond any time in the past, even the period of Roger's execution cannot be compared with it.

At the same time, Akainu would gain eternal glory for Marine, similar to how Garp was honored after the Valley of Gods Incident and sit firmly in everyone's mind after capturing Roger.

Akainu hopes that his name will always be recorded in the legend of Marine history.

"Come here, they're coming!" Kizaru and the others, watching from the battleship, saw Akainu and Whitebeard moving quickly through the sky toward them.

In the end, Akainu stopped in an open area near the coast. The space was wide and clear. Once stopped, Whitebeard took a moment to observe the surroundings.

He noticed that, even though it was some distance from the coast, the clear view allowed him to see the Marine battleship in the inner sea.

"Do you plan to use these warships to fight me together?" Whitebeard asked casually.

"Are you afraid?" Akainu replied.

"There's nothing to be afraid of," Whitebeard said with a smile.

"I'm just concerned that if we fight, your battleship might be destroyed." Even without direct attacks, the battle's shockwaves could wreck the ships.

Building such a luxurious warship costs a lot of money. The Marines might not be worried, but Whitebeard thinks it's a waste. He also plans to take these warships for himself after the battle.

The five warships the Marines gave to Whitebeard last time are outdated. 

While they're still usable, they're only suitable for dealing with small and medium pirate groups. 

In such situations, only a few ships or even just one captain would be enough.

Although Whitebeard hasn't seen the Marine battleship's power yet, its impressive appearance alone suggests it's an extraordinary vessel. Whitebeard can't bear to destroy such a fine ship.

"Hmph, you don't need to worry about these things, Whitebeard. Your position as one of the Four Emperors is unstable—why do you keep attacking the other Emperors? Are you trying to follow Roger's path?" 

Akainu asked seriously. These questions need to be clarified before the battle.

Even though Whitebeard opposes them, his views are valuable as the top pirate of this era. His ideas could continue to influence future pirates, just like Roger's did in the past.

A single word spoken before death sparked the start of a new era—the era of great pirates.

"Guurarara, Akainu, I didn't expect you to ask me this question so seriously. I thought you'd just attack without hesitation and try to defeat me right away," Whitebeard said with a surprised smile.

Hearing that, Akainu couldn't help but clench his fists. He wanted nothing more than to defeat Whitebeard immediately, but he knew he couldn't. If he could, he wouldn't be asking these questions at all.

Defeating Whitebeard and then executing him publicly would be the end of it.

"In the past two years, you've defeated Big Mom and Kaido. It looks like your next target is Shanks, right? After defeating all the Four Emperors, you'll become the Pirate King. What will you do then?" Akainu asked.

"Guurarara, once I become the Pirate King, I'll be the freest man on the sea. I'll roam the seas and let the name of the Whitebeard Pirates spread all over the world" 

Whitebeard said with a smile, knowing that Akainu was eager to challenge him.

Akainu wants to explore his own thoughts, but Whitebeard has no intention of revealing them to the Marine Headquarters.

"Marine has always been responsible for chasing pirates. Even if you become the Pirate King, the Marine Headquarters won't stop pursuing you. Didn't they capture the last Pirate King as well?" Akainu said faintly.

"Roger fulfilled his role, but I'm not Roger, and you're not Garp, Akainu. Let me see how much better you are now compared to during the Summit war." Whitebeard didn't want to waste more time talking. He raised his sword and swung it at Akainu.

Whitebeard swung his sword, sending a blade of light over ten meters long cutting through the air, as if it might pierce the sky.

The sheer force of the attack stunned Akainu. He didn't expect Whitebeard to strike suddenly, and yet, even this seemingly casual blow was incredibly powerful.

"It's no wonder Whitebeard could challenge Hawkeye's title as the world's greatest swordsman," Akainu remarked, feeling a mix of awe and relief. He was fortunate that Whitebeard didn't use Armament Haki; though his body was sliced in half, his Logia powers allowed him to recover quickly.
