Chapter 608: Gundam Attacks!!!
"The Celestial Dragons didn't just inherit the authority of the world from that incredibly powerful nation, but also its immensely powerful weapons. Even after 800 years, these weapons remain the most formidable in the world.
The Celestial Dragons believed that even after countless years, these war machines, powered by vast technological forces, would still be able to suppress the seas.
Such terrifying power could only be wielded by those who stand at the top of the world—the Celestial Dragons.
At least, that's what the upper echelon of the Celestial Dragons thought.
However—
When the massive, equally technologically advanced Gundam appeared, the Celestial Dragon piloting the steel dragon was dumbfounded.
They had these war machines because they inherited them from a once incredibly powerful nation. Only such a powerful nation could create such weapons.
But where did this enormous war robot, clearly showcasing the beauty of war, suddenly come from? Even much of Dr. Vegapunk's research was seen by them as only scratching the surface of the ancient technology.
Now, this seemingly backward world of pirates had produced a war robot of such size?
What in the world was happening?
How did those people achieve this?
While the Celestial Dragons were in shock, their minds filled with questions, even the allied forces were stunned when the giant Gundam suddenly appeared in the sky.
This thing was hard to understand. Even the "Pacifistas," although surprising, were somewhat understandable. But this massive Gundam floating in the sky? That was just beyond them.
If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, they wouldn't have known the allied forces had been hiding such a powerful trump card.
"Is this something Dr. Vegapunk created, similar to the 'Pacifistas'?"
Fujitora looked up with his cloudy eyes, astonished, staring at the enormous Gundam floating in the air. He muttered to himself, "But this size and power..."
As a former high-ranking officer of the Navy, Fujitora had some understanding of the Pacifista program that Vegapunk oversaw.
And in this war, many Pacifistas built by the World Government had already been deployed.
But the threat level between them was worlds apart.
Though Fujitora had lost his sight, his other senses had grown significantly stronger.
The threat the Gundam in the air posed was akin to comparing an ant to a lion.
And he understood clearly that the giant war robot in the sky only made its entrance after the steel dragon appeared.
Which meant, in the eyes of the Gundam's pilot, this war robot was enough to take on the steel dragon.
If that was the case—
Recalling the attack the steel dragon had unleashed on the ocean earlier, Fujitora couldn't even begin to imagine the firepower this Gundam might have.
Could it destroy an entire island with a single shot too?
On the Red Line.
"Sigh, I'm no match for Vegapunk..."
Judge looked up at the sleek, powerful robot in the sky, his voice tinged with a hint of desolation.
For a scientist to admit that they were inferior to another, they would have to truly know their limits.
"Hmm... Well, it seems you do have some self-awareness, Judge."
Queen puffed on his cigar contentedly, comforting Judge. "Although you'll probably never match Vegapunk in intelligence, at least your self-awareness proves you're not totally hopeless!"
Judge turned to Queen with an expression that clearly said, 'Are you kidding me?'
"Honestly, Queen, you're even more of a joke than I am. Where do you get the nerve to say that?"
Though Judge knew he was no match for Vegapunk, the mutated dinosaur who had turned himself into a walking disaster had no right to judge him.
Compared to the two massive war machines, Queen's self-modifications seemed like cheap toys.
Seeing the disdainful look Judge gave him, veins bulged on Queen's forehead.
And while the two argued over who was more useless...
The Gundam's Minovsky thrusters suddenly roared to life, releasing trails of plasma wings. Moments later, the massive Gundam shot forward, a stream of light charging toward the steel dragon.
Boom!
At the same time, the high-energy weapons carried by the Gundam unleashed a barrage of terrifying energy beams, striking the steel dragon in the sky. As the explosions echoed, cracks began to form across the dragon's body.
The steel dragon quickly retaliated, firing energy beams from its mouth at the Gundam, which dodged nimbly in the air.
...
"Fire Fist Gatling!"
In the sky, Luffy charged toward Nicholas with his fists coated in Haki, creating afterimages as they flew toward their target.
"Ahaha! How fun!" Luffy exclaimed as he weaved through the sky, his body bending at an impossible angle to dodge an incoming shockwave.
Nicholas barely reacted to Luffy's barrage of punches, instead focusing on the shockwave coming from the distance, his sword glowing as he unleashed a massive slash.
"Ah! So hot!"
Before Luffy's fists could land, they began to soften, as though melting, losing their strength as they neared Nicholas.
In a split second, Luffy pulled back his fists, blowing on them in an attempt to cool them down.
At the same time, Nicholas' sword slash collided with the shockwave, neutralizing it in mid-air.
"Rubber may not fear lightning, but it sure can't handle high temperatures. And the Sun God Nika can't just shrug off heat that rivals the surface of the sun, can he?"
Nicholas smirked as he watched Luffy blow on his now-red fists, his body swelling up several times its size from the heat.
Suddenly, a weapon streaked toward Nicholas, grazing his cheek as it flew past, burning brightly before disintegrating in the distance.
He glanced in the direction the weapon had come from, spotting Imu staring coldly at him.
In this three-way battle, neither Nicholas nor Imu paid much attention to Luffy. But leaving him unchecked could still affect the outcome, so the three continued to exchange blows.
Finally, Luffy's fists seemed to cool down, his hair turning white, with flowing cloud-like wings forming around his shoulders. He grinned at Imu and Nicholas from a distance, baring his teeth. "Hehe!"
