One piece :I open the locks of the heart

Chapter 4: Chapter 4: Discovery and little sister

After accepting Luffy's offer, we parted ways. Luffy went back to see Makino with the meat and Berries he had exchanged for part of the skins, looking all proud of himself. As for me, I went to pick up my new clothes. Slipping into the outfit, I had to admit, it felt incredibly good. The coat layered over Sora's style gave me a look that was both mature and practical.

"Perfect," I thought as I observed my reflection in a puddle of water. I felt ready for the next step.

With this newfound confidence, I headed into the woods to test a theory that had been nagging at me for a while. Once I was far enough from the village, I summoned the Nocturnes Rouges from my shadow. Their floating forms materialized around me, their bodies emitting a reddish glow that shone in the darkness of the woods.

"Let's see if I've got this right," I thought as I focused. I tried to summon a fireball like I had during the fight with Luffy. But nothing happened. Frowning, I dismissed one of the Nocturnes Rouges back into my shadow. This time, when I attempted to create a fireball, it burst from my hands, fiery and powerful. I launched it into the air, and it disappeared into the distance, just like the one I had shot at Luffy.

A smile spread across my face. "So, I only gain the ability of one at a time, no matter how many I've got stored in my shadow. That simplifies things a bit."

"Fire at me," I ordered one of the remaining Nocturnes Rouges, preparing to test something else. The Nocturne obeyed without hesitation, generating a small fireball and shooting it directly at me. Reflexively, I raised my hand to block it, but instead of feeling the heat burn my palm, the flame vanished instantly, as if it had been absorbed by my skin.

I stood there for a moment, stunned, before a surge of excitement welled up inside me. To confirm, I threw another fireball at the Nocturne Rouge, and once again, the flame disappeared on contact. I looked at my hand in awe.

"Incredible…" An idea crossed my mind. I quickly approached a small campfire I had lit and, without hesitation, plunged my hand into the flames. The fire crackled around my skin without leaving a single burn. I pulled my hand out, the flames still dancing around me harmlessly.

I let out a joyful laugh. "I don't know if it's total immunity or just a reduction, but either way, it's a serious advantage!" I thought with delight, the smile on my lips growing wider. The prospect of facing fire-wielding enemies without fear was a huge plus for me. I couldn't wait to bolster my troops with other elemental Sans-cœur, like those of lightning or healing.

My excitement growing, I turned toward a massive tree, ten feet wide. Without thinking, I leaped toward it, mimicking the attack of the Soldier Sans-cœur, and delivered a powerful kick to the trunk. As my foot struck, it glowed faintly with a dark hue, and with an impressive crack, the tree split in two, crashing to the ground with a heavy thud.

I stepped back, still amazed by the power I was beginning to understand. "That's insane…" I looked down at my hand and, concentrating, made it glow with a dark aura before stretching it forward. A shadow extended at my feet, and a Sans-cœur emerged, its familiar form materializing with ease.

"So, I can summon the Shadows like the Darkside…" I murmured with satisfaction. The Shadows I summoned then merged back into my shadow, further bolstering my army of Sans-cœur.

I let out a gleeful laugh. "It's decided; I'm going to keep at least one of every type of Sans-cœur in my shadow." My voice brimmed with newfound energy. The potential I was discovering filled me with overwhelming excitement. With all of this, I could become even stronger. And this was only the beginning…

I dismissed all the Sans-cœur back into my shadow, a pleased grin on my face. The possibilities before me were endless, and I knew that, in time, I would become a formidable force.

I knew I had to be more discreet than Luffy, Zoro, or even Sanji. Their flamboyant and explosive style would inevitably draw attention wherever they went, but I had a different role to play. If I wanted to survive in this world, I needed to operate like an informant, working from the shadows without revealing my true power. There was no need to flaunt it too early or too often. If I ever used my abilities, I would have to hide my appearance. Once I talked to Luffy, I would make sure he understood the importance of this strategy.

But for now, I had another priority. I needed to check on the baby I had saved. There was something more significant than anything I had experienced so far: this need to ensure that the fragile life I had rescued had a chance to grow in a better world.

Taking a deep breath, I headed toward the clinic in the village of Fuchsia. The place was modest, with white walls and a few open windows letting in the morning light. As I stepped inside, the scent of medicinal herbs and freshly cleaned bandages filled the air. The atmosphere was calm, soothing, as if the very air itself breathed healing.

The doctor, an older man with graying hair and a kindly demeanor, looked up as I entered. His smile widened slightly in recognition. "Ah, Jordan, good morning. I thought you might come by." He motioned for me to come closer, a reassuring look on his face. "The baby you saved is in the room at the back."

I felt relieved, though a small knot of anxiety still remained. I had saved her life, but I knew nothing was guaranteed. I walked through the main room and headed toward the door the doctor had indicated.

As I entered the room, I saw a nurse tending to the baby. The room was small but bathed in soft light. In a crib, wrapped in a white blanket, lay the little girl. She was so tiny, her eyes closed, her little hands resting on her belly. As I looked at her, a protective instinct welled up within me. I gave her a chance. Now, she had to live.

The nurse smiled at me before walking over. "She's doing well," she said softly, as if not wanting to disturb the peace of the room. "She's healthy, despite everything she's been through. She's a fighter, this little one."

I let out a sigh of relief, my shoulders finally relaxing. "I'm glad to hear that," I murmured, my eyes locked on the sleeping baby. There was something almost miraculous about seeing her so peaceful after all she had endured.

The nurse hesitated for a moment before speaking again, her voice a little more tentative. "Actually… there's something we'd like to ask you."

I looked at her, intrigued. "What is it?"

"The baby doesn't have a name. Her mother never had the chance to give her one. And since you're the one who saved her… we thought it would be fitting for you to give her a name."

I froze for a moment. Naming a child… It felt like a responsibility far greater than anything I'd done so far. But at the same time, it was an honor I couldn't refuse.

I stepped closer to the crib, my eyes resting on the little girl, her features soft and peaceful. A smile appeared on my lips as I considered what her name could be. Something simple, yet meaningful. A name that reflected her strength and her gentleness.

"Léa," I said softly. "Her name will be Léa."

The nurse nodded, her smile widening. "Léa… That's a beautiful name." She wrote the name in the registry before gently placing a hand on my shoulder. "Thank you, Jordan. She'll need people like you in her life."

I glanced at Léa one last time, feeling a bond forming between us. I knew I couldn't keep her under my protection forever, but I would do everything I could to watch over her, from near or far.

I left the clinic with a lighter heart and a quiet smile on my lips. Léa's life had started in adversity, but now she had a name, and with a little luck, she would have a much better life than her mother had known.

As I walked through the streets of Fuchsia Village, a thought began to cross my mind. Jordan… just Jordan. That name felt a little too bland in a world filled with people with powerful, meaningful, and symbolic names. If I wanted to blend into this world, maybe I needed more than just a first name. A family name… something with weight.

I thought about various possibilities. "Tiger D. Jordan?" I murmured, a smile tugging at my lips. It had a certain flair, and the "D" added a touch of mystery, a nod to Luffy and the other bearers of that famous letter. But… no, something felt off. It was too fierce for me. I'm not a tiger.

I continued walking, the ideas still swirling in my mind. "Jordan the Brave?" I suggested to myself, almost laughing. That's way too pompous. I shook my head, dismissing that idea as quickly as it came.

Then, another thought struck me: "Shadow D. Jordan?" That sounded good, with a hint of mystery and darkness that could match my abilities linked to shadows and Sans-cœur. But it didn't quite feel right yet. It lacked a bit of personal meaning, a direct connection to what had set me apart so far.

I paused for a moment, staring at a point in the distance, as an idea settled in my mind. The Sans-cœur… They are a part of me, something that accompanies me in every battle. They were literally tied to me, to my abilities, to my power. In a way, they were part of what I was becoming in this world.

I smiled, thinking it would definitely make an impact. "Heartless D. Jordan." A tribute to those creatures that follow me and to my own connection with darkness. The "D" remained a mysterious and symbolic touch, recalling the importance of that initial in this world. And "Heartless" summed up well this strange alliance I had formed with these shadowy creatures.

"Heartless D. Jordan…" I murmured, tasting the sound of the name. It made sense. It resonated within me.

I let a smile spread across my face as I continued my walk. It was decided. My new name had weight, history, and, most importantly, personal meaning. A tribute to my companions of the shadows, a symbol of my role in the world's dark corners.

After spending the day gathering supplies in Fuchsia Village, I knew it was time to push my explorations a little further. I had heard of a small island near the Goa Kingdom, a relatively isolated and rarely visited place. It was the perfect spot to test my next ability: unlocking an island's keyhole.

Before leaving, I stopped by a local merchant to pick up a rudimentary sea map and a compass. The old shopkeeper, a man with sharp eyes, handed me the compass while muttering some warnings about the dangers of sailing alone. But I only half-listened, my mind already focused on my destination.

"Thanks," I said, slipping a few Berries into his hand. I took the map and compass before leaving the market, excitement slowly rising within me. The evening was approaching, and I preferred to travel under the cover of night. The shadows were my ally, after all.

As the moon began to rise, I took to the air, using my levitation ability to lift myself into the night sky. The soft, cool breeze caressed my face as I soared over the sea, my eyes fixed on the horizon. Map and compass in hand, I navigated easily, following the direction I had set.

After some time, I finally saw the island in question appear in the distance, a small dark mass surrounded by thick forests. It was a wild place, still untouched by human presence, making it the perfect hideout for me.

I gently descended, landing at the edge of the woods. The night was peaceful, only the melody of the wind through the trees and the sounds of nocturnal animals breaking the surrounding silence. My instincts guided me toward the spot where I sensed the island's keyhole. A strange feeling of tension hung in the air, pulling me toward a clearing in the center of the island.

As I approached, I finally saw the keyhole. It wasn't visible to the untrained eye, but I could perceive it clearly, like a mental projection. I raised my Keyblade, and in one smooth motion, I pointed it toward the invisible keyhole. A flash of dark light shot from the weapon, piercing the keyhole.

A clicking sound echoed in the air, followed by a wave of darkness that quickly spread around me. I stepped back slightly, observing the phenomenon. Sans-cœur began to materialize, emerging from the shadows as if they had always been there, waiting. This time, they weren't the usual small Shadows. Most of the Sans-cœur that appeared were Soldats Volants and Soldats, their bodies either floating silently in the air or patrolling the ground.

They didn't seem hostile toward the island's animals. The local creatures—birds, small mammals—continued with their activities, indifferent to the presence of the Sans-cœur, who simply patrolled like silent guardians.

I smiled as I watched the scene. This island was now under my control—or rather, under the watch of my Sans-cœur. Their presence would ensure that no one ventured here without my knowing.

I took one last look around, satisfied with my work. The Soldats and Soldats Volants were perfect for guarding this place. I knew they wouldn't attack without my command, but their mere presence would be enough to deter any potential intruders.

"This is perfect," I murmured, feeling a surge of excitement. This island was a first step, a territory I could use as a secret base, protected by my creatures of shadow.
