"Ahh!!!"
While the pirate world is filled with conflict, Logue Town remains a relatively peaceful and stable place. After all, it's located near the navy headquarters in the East Blue. Even though pirates often visit the town for supplies, none of them dare to raid the town. And now, a living human head has rolled to the feet of everyone, causing the people to scream in horror.
It may not be entirely accurate to say the human head is alive, but the head that's rolling on the ground is still moving its mouth, albeit slightly. This is due to Ron's astonishing speed; the owner of the Iron Furnace Weapon Shop hadn't yet reacted when the head had landed on the ground, decapitated. The sight of the lifeless, headless body was unsettling.
"You-you dare!" The master blacksmith from the Iron Furnace Weapon Shop stared wide-eyed, never expecting the teenager from the opposite side to be so ruthless by killing someone in public. The owner of the weapon shop had some authority in the town, and who was Ron but a mere apprentice? If he died, his body would be seized and used as a treasure for the Iron Furnace Weapon Shop. This would elevate the shop's status, but now...
(T/N: I still don't get it)
Ron's expression remained unchanged, but his tone grew icy. He looked at the blacksmithing master indifferently and challenged, "Do you want to give it a try too?"
"You... how dare you..." The blacksmithing master was shaken, feeling his legs weaken. He gazed at Ron with a mixture of anger and fear in his eyes. He resented Ron for killing his boss, but he also feared Ron's decisiveness. Ron was simply too dangerous!
"Ahem!"
Smoker's expression darkened as he took a couple of steps forward, closing the distance to Ron. He stared at Ron with stern eyes and said, "I am Smoker, the captain overseeing Logue Town. Are you challenging the authority of the navy by killing people here like this?"
"Smoker?" Ron gave him a brief glance, pondering the situation. At this time, Luffy hadn't set sail yet, and there was a considerable gap before Smoker relentlessly pursued Luffy into the Grand Line. Was Smoker going to focus his attention on Ron now? Well, Ron wasn't as merciful as Luffy!
Ron shifted his gaze, and he noticed the girl who was with Smoker and stood next to him. Wasn't this Tashigi?
Though she might seem a bit naive at the moment, she was still a beauty in the pirate world. Well, it appeared that his crew could use a swordswoman like her!
A small smile played on Ron's lips.
"Ahem!" Smoker snorted coldly again. "Don't try to talk your way out of this. You've killed someone, and now you're smiling. You truly are a wicked pirate! Ron, you have a bounty of ten million baileys, and now that I've laid hands on you, there's no way I can let you go. If you're willing to surrender, you may face less punishment, but if you resist..."
Smoke emanated from Smoker's body, a manifestation of his Devil Fruit power, which allowed him to transform parts of his body into smoke during battles.
When the sword aura had erupted earlier, he sensed that Ron's strength had not reached the level of a Great Swordsman, and since he knew that he wasn't a Great Swordsman, he had no reason to fear Ron!
"Haha, Smoker, are you attempting to apprehend me?" Ron shook his head and offered a wry smile. If he were aware that Smoker had underestimated his strength by not considering him a Great Swordsman, he might have laughed out loud. The sword aura he had just unleashed was merely a fraction of his full power so of course it was insufficient to rival a Great Swordsman. Did he need to employ 50% of his power to deal with the owner of the Iron Furnace Weapon Shop? Absolutely not!
To clarify, if Ron unleashed 50% of his full strength he could attain a Great Swordsman status. When he battled Grace, he had unleashed only 30% of his strength and was considered a Great Swordsman. Imagine how strong Ron's current abilities are!
The power of the Seven Warlords is inferior to that of the Four Emperors, and Ron's full power matches that of the Four Emperors. Even if he doesn't reach Whitebeard's level, he's almost on par with the lower-ranking Four Emperors. At the very least, Ron is confident he can hold his own against the likes of Red-Haired Shanks, Big Mom Charlotte Linlin, and Kaido!
(T/N: I'm sure the author is talking about when whitebeard was in his youth)
The people of Logue Town are simply not qualified to witness Ron's full power!
"The Navy's authority must not be defied!" Smoker declared coldly. "This is my jurisdiction, and your offense in Logue Town is an affront to the Navy."
With that, Smoker lunged at Ron. Even if Ron fought back, it didn't matter. Ron was a pirate, while the owner of the Iron Furnace Weapon Shop was a citizen of Logue Town. Shooting at pirates is not illegal, but Ron, who is a wanted pirate, shot to kill in the town, which is a crime!
"Attempting to arrest me? I'm afraid you haven't realized it yet!"
Ron shook his head, waved his hand with the sword, and slashed.
Boom!
Smoker's eyes darted as he spotted the oncoming blade. He turned the affected part of his body into smoke, narrowly dodging Ron's attack.
"Smoke Bind!" Smoker waved his hand, and his smoky limbs ensnared Ron.
"The level of this Devil Fruit power won't work on me!" Ron simply shook his head as he observed the smoky restraints.
Boom!
Ron's body shook, and the smoky binds around him burst apart.
Boom!
Smoker's heart pounded as his arms were violently struck. Blood spurted from his wounds.
The fact that Ron was able to generate an attack strong enough to damage him by simply shaking his body was astonishing. It was important to remember that his hands had been in a smoke state due to his Devil Fruit powers. Yet they had been shaken by Ron's sheer physical strength, which led Smoker to wonder if Ron had some kind of Devil Fruit power that enabled him to emit shockwaves.
Of course, Ron did not possess any shockwave-based Devil Fruit abilities. His current physical strength, on the other hand, was on par with that of Kaido, one of the Four Emperors, with a strength stat exceeding 100, which was no laughing matter.
"Smoker, I'll spare your life this time, but..." Ron grinned calmly and, after delivering that sentence, turned his attention to Tashigi. "As the price for sparing your life, I'll be taking this girl with me!"
Tashigi was initially surprised when Ron announced that he would be taking her with him, and she struggled to break free from Ron's grip. She even tried to draw her sword, but Ron was too quick. He effortlessly disarmed her, and her sword ended up in his hand.
She glared at Ron and shouted, "Let go of me!"
Smoker, although he was determined to rescue Tashigi, he was also aware of his severe injuries, making it impossible to challenge Ron.
As Ron continued to walk away with Tashigi, Smoker's angry gaze remained fixed on him. However, he couldn't take any action at the moment.
Most of the bystanders had already fled after witnessing Ron's actions, leaving only a few remaining witnesses. Grace chose to turn and leave without approaching Ron. He didn't want to get involved in the situation any further.
The blacksmithing master and his colleague left the scene as well, dragging their dead boss's body with them. The blacksmithing contest had come to an abrupt and unsettling end.
