Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Feed Zoro, the rice ball.
Marine Base, execution field.
The pirate hunter, Roronoa Zoro, is tied to a cross in a clearing.
He hasn't eaten or drunk anything for three weeks.
"Ten days, ten days, and it's over..."
Zoro felt the torment of the blazing sun, and sweat dripped from his forehead to the ground.
In his mind, he recalled the scene of practicing swordsmanship with others when he was young.
"Hey, you're Zoro."
Suddenly, a voice sounded from the side of the wall. Zoro looked up and saw three faces lying against the wall, staring at him.
"How come there are three people?"
Zoro was unable to complain.
"Alright, how scary, as expected of a legendary beast..." Coby suddenly panicked.
"Hehe, seems like a really strong person," Luffy laughed nonchalantly.
Suddenly, a ladder was placed against the fence, and a girl jumped over it and ran towards Zoro with a rice ball in hand.
"Big brother, you haven't eaten in a long time. This is the rice ball I made myself."
In front of the girl's kindness, Zoro turned his head away. "Don't eat."
"Big brother, just take a bite, no one will see." The girl handed the rice ball she held to Zoro.
"Hey, let me see who this is! That rice ball looks delicious."
Suddenly, a voice rang out that felt like a slap, and Helmeppo appeared.
His image at this moment was quite comical, with his chest wrapped in thick gauze.
Zoro mocked, "Looks like you almost died, what a pity."
Helmeppo instantly got furious, but then he laughed again: "Don't worry, I've already told my father to send someone to hunt those guys down, and their heads will soon be hanging at the castle gate."
Immediately, he grabbed a rice ball, took a bite, and suddenly spat it out.
"Yuck, yuck, it's so sweet! Don't you know rice balls need salt to taste good?"
—Helmeppo roared—.
The girl said sadly, "But, but, I think rice balls with sugar are delicious."
"Damn it, damn it! Everyone bullies me!"
Helmeppo threw the rice ball from the girl's hand to the ground and then ruthlessly stomped it with his shoes.
"Hey, get this guy away from me!"
He suddenly pointed at the girl and ordered the Marine soldiers to follow him.
"But... but she's just a little girl..." The Marine soldiers couldn't bear it.
"I told you to throw her! Do you want to disobey Colonel Morgan's orders?"
—Helmeppo shouted, no longer angry—
First, he was cut off by a kid who appeared out of nowhere, and then he went to seek his father's help,
As a result, instead of comforting him, his father scolded him, calling him a wasted son.
Perhaps in his father's heart, he is not as important as a statue!
Now, seeing a notorious pirate hunter being fed by someone, he immediately wanted to vent his anger on this person.
The Marine soldiers had to throw the little girl over the wall.
"Hmph, stay with me in peace, otherwise, I'll make sure you regret it!" Helmeppo said harshly before leaving with a buzz.
...
"Who are you? Don't stand in front of me, get out of the way!"
After Helmeppo left, Luffy appeared in front of Zoro at some point.
"My name is Monkey D. Luffy, and I'm the man who wants to be the Pirate King!"
"Pirates..." Zoro obviously despised the profession of pirates.
"Hey, help me pick up the rice balls from the ground."
After a long silence, Zoro suddenly said to Luffy.
"Ah, don't you want to eat? And the rice balls are already dirty."
"Stop chattering, bring it to me!"
"Ah..."
Zoro chewed on the rice balls covered in sand and dirt, crunching unpleasantly every now and then.
"Hey, you're a good guy. I'm looking for a pirate crew member. Would you like to be my partner?" Luffy extended his invitation.
Join you? Zoro outright refused.
Luffy: "What's wrong with being a pirate?"
"Mr. Zoro, hurry and escape, Helmeppo won't let you go." Coby also climbed over the wall and nervously told Zoro.
"How?" Zoro looked at Coby with a puzzled face.
"We ran into Helmeppo on the street before, and we heard him say he wouldn't let you go and that he would execute you!" —Coby said, dancing nervously—.
Zoro didn't believe it and looked at Luffy beside him.
"Ah, that's true," Luffy said.
Only then did Su Yi slowly approach with his hands behind his head, "This kind of thing doesn't need verification at all. You know in your heart that that kind of man won't let you go."
"It's a pity that your swordsmanship hasn't had the chance to make a name for itself, and you'll die at the hands of such a sinister villain, tsk tsk, what a shame."
Su Yi's words pierced Zoro's heart like needles.
Scenes from his childhood returned to his mind.
"I promised someone that I would definitely become the best swordsman in the world in the future, and let my reputation resonate in the heavens! How could I die in a place like this!"
Zoro's eyes changed.
He suddenly looked at Luffy: "It seems that even the Marines aren't good people. It's fine to become a pirate like this, but I said beforehand, I have my own ambitions. If you get in my way, I'll cut you down without hesitation!"
Luffy laughed: "The crew of the Pirate King needs this kind of courage. You'll be on my ship from now on."
"Here! They're here! Kill them!"
Suddenly, a familiar voice came from the gate of the execution field. Everyone turned to the sound and saw a group of Marine soldiers surrounding them. Among them was a tall man holding an axe in one hand.
