Chapter 22: Chapter 22: Welcome, Sir
"Nani?! You said the chefs here are all wanted criminals?"
Usopp felt like his worldview was collapsing.
This is a place where even Marines come to eat, and it turns out a group of wanted criminals are hired as cooks?
When did the Marines get along so well?
"Hehe, there are still many dark sides in this world, Usopp. To be a brave sea warrior requires not only a strong body but also a sharp mind," Su Yi said as he sat down, ready to teach Usopp.
As one of the top minds in the Straw Hat Pirates, Usopp was one of the few people Su Yi could talk to normally.
"Yeah, that makes sense..." Usopp replied.
At that moment, Sanji, dressed in a tailored suit with a cigarette in his mouth, approached to serve food to Su Yi and the others.
Su Yi noticed that Sanji's gaze lingered on him and never shifted.
"Hehe, it seems my reputation is quite impressive, Captain..." Su Yi said to Luffy.
"Hey, hey, this is my crew!" Luffy exclaimed, holding a knife and fork in both hands, looking excited, but it was clear he was just thrilled about the delicious meal ahead.
"Wait, aren't you the captain?" Sanji, who was about to leave after serving the dishes, suddenly said in surprise.
"Yeah, this is my captain," Su Yi pointed at Luffy.
"I'm Monkey D. Luffy! My goal is to find the One Piece and become the Pirate King!"
A few drops of sweat trickled down Sanji's face, first shocked that Su Yi wasn't the captain, and then by Luffy's declaration, "One Piece?"
"Ah," Luffy laughed,
However, his unreliable demeanor always made him seem less convincing.
"Whatever you want, but it doesn't matter to me," Sanji said, putting down the plate and turning to leave.
"Hey, cook, be our partner!" Luffy suddenly shouted.
"I refuse," Sanji replied curtly and walked away.
"No, I really want you to be the cook on our ship!" Luffy grabbed Sanji's shoulders and slumped against him.
"Let go of me!" Sanji and Luffy started to scuffle.
Seeing this, Su Yi laughed and began to eat.
I have to say, this was the best meal he had eaten since arriving in the Pirate World. Even Kaya's family chef couldn't match this flavor.
Thinking that he would have the opportunity to enjoy this kind of food every day in the future, a sense of happiness welled up in his heart.
"Yoshi! Sanji-kun, you'll be our royal chef from now on!" Su Yi declared.
"Is a big pirate with a bounty of 30 million Berries coming to my ship to rob people?"
Suddenly, an old voice sounded.
When everyone turned to look, they saw an old man with a missing leg slowly walking out from the back kitchen.
"Old man, why are you here?" Sanji stopped fighting with Luffy.
Zeff glanced at Sanji. "How many times have I told you not to fight with the guests?"
"My business is none of your concern!" Sanji shot back.
"Hey, if you don't agree, I can't do anything about it, but it's a shame; we're heading to the Grand Line, and we really need a cook," Su Yi said, almost to himself. "I've heard there are many rare ingredients in the Grand Line, great chefs, and more importantly, there's an 'ALL BLUE' there!"
"ALL BLUE? Isn't that just a legend?" Usopp exclaimed in surprise.
"Hehe, there are many miracles in the Grand Line. Anything can happen there, and it would be arrogant to claim that ALL BLUE doesn't exist without seeing it for yourself," Su Yi chuckled.
The restaurant suddenly fell silent.
Both Zeff and Sanji looked at Su Yi with strange expressions.
"Do you also believe in the existence of ALL BLUE?" Sanji asked suddenly.
"What? What is ALL BLUE? Is it edible?" Luffy, the only one who hadn't heard of ALL BLUE, looked around at everyone discussing it with a confused expression.
"The legend of ALL BLUE is the place where the seas of the four seas meet, making it a chef's paradise with all kinds of fish from all seas," Su Yi explained.
"So, what do you say, Sanji-kun? Do you want to join us? Maybe you'll find it," Su Yi's words were enticing, and even Luffy couldn't help but swallow.
"I'm not going," Sanji said decisively. "I have a reason I absolutely cannot leave this restaurant."
Zeff looked deeply at Sanji's back and then turned to Luffy. "Boy, you just said you want to find One Piece. Is that true?"
Luffy sat on the ground, laughing. "Of course! Not only do I want to find One Piece, but I also want to become the Pirate King!"
Zeff grinned, showing his teeth. "One Piece? That's much harder to find than ALL BLUE."
"Ah, it doesn't matter! I have to become the Pirate King anyway," Luffy said, adjusting the straw hat on his head.
Zeff then looked at Su Yi and the others. "It would be best if this guy Sanji could go to sea with you."
