One Piece: I am Imu

Chapter 230: Chapter 230: Prophecies Unveiled

In the Marshal's office at Army Headquarters.

Marshal Raymond was sitting in the chair behind the desk, while Sakazuki, Bullet, and Crocodile were sitting on the sofa.

The gazes of the four were fixed on the virtual screen projected by the Den-Den Mushi.

Everyone watched Kaido transform into a dragon of colossal proportions, and their expressions changed, all of them lost in their own thoughts.

Crocodile, with a mocking smile as he held his thick, smoking cigar in his mouth, said: "It looks pretty powerful~"

However, despite his relaxed attitude, Crocodile was thinking about how he would face Kaido if he found himself in that situation.

"Although Aramaki managed to surpass his limits in mastering Busoshoku Haki during the fight, it seems that his challenge will fail." Bullet said with a sarcastic smile, sinking further into the couch.

There are only three general positions in the army headquarters structure. Sakazuki already holds one, and there are still two vacancies. Bullet, of course, does not want Aramaki to succeed him and become the second general.

"If I had known that the opponent was Kaido, I would have fought him too." Bullet curled his lips and sneered.

At that moment, Sakazuki spoke with his deep and firm voice: "Even if he fails, he can be promoted from a colonel to a lieutenant general. It is not a loss for Aramaki. With his strength, he will become an army general sooner or later. Don't worry."

"Tsk-" Bullet snorted coldly, but did not fight back. He then looked at Raymond and asked: "Marshal, how long will it take for me to be promoted to general?"

Bullet believed that both his strength and his merits in combat were sufficient for promotion.

"Why are you in a hurry? When I become a general, it will naturally be your turn!" Crocodile came forward to respond, in a mocking tone, before the marshal could say anything.

Bullet gave him a glare, laden with warning, but Crocodile was undeterred and held his gaze until Marshal Raymond sighed deeply, breaking the tense atmosphere.

"Bullet, I remember you said before that you wanted to defeat Garp, so I thought that after you succeeded, you would be promoted to the general of the Army Headquarters."

"..."

Bullet frowned, his expression twisting.

At first, he thought of defeating Garp first, and then going to Noah's Ark to challenge that supreme existence, but more than two years have passed. Every time he challenged Garp, he would get beaten up and then be bedridden for a month.

"Kuahahahaha!"

Crocodile burst into laughter, almost dropping his cigar. Bullet's fury flared instantly, but as he was about to get up to fight, Sakazuki's authoritative voice rang out: "Have you had enough!"

Bullet stopped dead in his tracks, turning his icy gaze towards Sakazuki. "I suddenly changed my mind now, Marshal, if I defeat General Sakazuki, can I be promoted to general?"

Crocodile stopped laughing instantly, and Sakazuki looked at Bullet with an impassive expression.

"It seems you still haven't learned your lesson. You still retain some of your pirate temperament."

"Hehe." Bullet sneered and waited for Marshal Raymond's answer. The latter covered his forehead helplessly and sighed. "Why bother? With your current accumulated merits, you can be promoted to general at most after conquering the next world. Just wait a little longer."

"The next world..." Bullet raised his eyebrows. "But... I think it would be more satisfying to ascend by defeating Sakazuki."

"You!" Marshal Raymond was also a little annoyed by Bullet's overly thorny attitude.

"Okay, I'll give you a chance." Sakazuki slowly stood up and walked out of the office expressionlessly. Bullet followed him with an excited smile. Crocodile also stood up and prepared to go over to see the excitement.

Only Marshal Raymond remained, shaking his head with a bitter smile. He realized that he couldn't control those three, not even Sakazuki showed much respect for him.

Not long after, Aramaki was utterly defeated by Kaido within two hours. With burns all over his body, he was sent to the medical department of the Army Headquarters for treatment.

Next, three days later will be Issho's 'Battle at the Summit', whose opponent will be Borsalino.

...

Three months later.

This is a city with a peculiar geographical location. From above, you can clearly see the vast ocean not far away, with a long, winding coastline. Around it, hills of different heights rise, creating a natural barrier.

At this moment, it is early morning. The sun is rising over the horizon, spreading its golden light over every building and every street.

Men and women who have woken up early to begin their day begin to appear along the avenues and alleys.

The most striking feature, however, is the cathedral located at the eastern end of the city. With its back to the rising sun, it majestically combines the Roman-style round dome with the large Greek-style columns.

The main entrance is preceded by several dozen steps, and at the bottom of these, there is a rectangular pool of crystal-clear, sparkling water. On both sides of the pool, you can see a few figures covered in white robes walking slowly.

The interior of the huge church like a castle.

On the top floor, in a large and luxurious room, a refined-looking man with silver hair lies on a double bed, covered with a soft blanket embroidered with gold threads.

His frown suggests he's having a nightmare.

After a moment, the man slowly opens his eyes, revealing a pair of purple irises.

"Another dream of the future?" He murmured as he sat up in bed, his attention still fixed on the images of his dream.

Snowy mountains, a door of light, strange figures, and in the end, an army dressed in black.

"It must be some unknown force that has arrived here from another continent using some space method... From the climate and environment, it seems that they are somewhere in the north..."

The man reflected, quickly realizing the seriousness of the situation.

The empire is currently at war on two fronts: to the west with the Kingdom of Alchemy and to the east with the Nation of the Gods and the Islands. However, the north, conquered more than a century ago, has few troops.

With this concern in mind, the man headed to the bathroom. He then dressed in a red cloak, a white tunic and put a diadem with a golden cross on his head. Now he is the leader respected and even worshipped by thousands of believers.

Half an hour later.

The Lord called out to one of the clerics waiting outside his office.

"Please send this letter to the imperial capital."

"Yes, Your Eminence!" The cleric replied, taking the envelope and quickly heading to the department that breeds Marg's falcons.

"I hope it's in time..." The Lord muttered, looking worriedly out the window.

Moments later, a Marg falcon, with a small bundle strapped to its back, took off at high speed, flying west.

Two days later.

Marg's falcon finally reached the limits of the imperial capital.

This is a megacity, filled with ancient European architectural style. The air is filled with noise and the aroma of food.

The street vendors and pedestrians lining the streets have rosy faces and happy smiles, and most are carrying food or goods in their hands.

Meanwhile, Marg's falcon crossed a circular wall of astonishing heights and came within range of the palace.

Finally Marg's falcon arrived at the area designated to receive the messengers.

A servant then took the envelope from the package, before shouting in surprise.

"Urgent message from the Path of Peace!"

Two guards quickly took the servant under escort.

...

Inside the Proclamation Hall.

The sixtieth emperor sits behind his desk, reviewing secret documents arriving from various parts of the empire.

He is 42 years old this year, and because he cares deeply about the people and often implements benevolent policies, the outside world has already evaluated him as a wise ruler.

"So 'Clown' Champ has been eliminated?" The Emperor muttered with satisfaction. "Good, that will prevent any more children from suffering at the hands of that monster..."

At that moment an urgent knock at the door interrupted the emperor. His expression became serious, he put away the secret documents and ordered them to enter.

"Your Majesty, this is an urgent message from the Path of Peace!"

"Oh?"

The Emperor is surprised, while the servant places the envelope on his desk, before retreating with a bow.

The Emperor began to read the letter, but as he read on, his brow furrowed further, before showing an expression of shock.

He hits the desk hard, stands up, and calls one of his assistants.

"Order the Imperial Guard to activate the 'Dimensional Formation' and bring the Lord of the Path of Peace to the capital!" The Emperor ordered sternly. "Also summon General Budo, Vice Commander Gozuki, Minister Najenda, Dr. Stylish, Minister of the Interior Shaur, and Treasury Officer Esdra. I want everyone at the palace within the hour!"

"Yes, Your Majesty!"

The Emperor, with a grave expression, looks at the letter in his hands, while a disturbing question arises in his mind: 'What is going on? In the prophecies of our ancestors, there was no mention of any massive invasion from the north...'

...

Half an hour later.

The Lord, who until recently was at the Path of Peace headquarters, almost a thousand kilometers away from the capital, appeared at the palace.

And together with the generals and ministers summoned by the emperor, they gathered in the palace.
