Chapter 187: Chapter 188: Happo Navy Wants to Joins Chiba
Koby's physical strength was astounding.
As the battles piled up, Koby's resolve grew stronger, and his momentum became increasingly unshakable. His raw physical power continuously surged forth, merging seamlessly with his Haki. The result was an Armament Haki so potent, it grew thicker, brighter, and sturdier with each passing moment.
Koby was becoming stronger with every clash.
Occasionally, he would take out a mysterious pill and swallow it, briefly pausing to focus his breathing and run the techniques he had honed. With this, the injuries scattered across his body began healing rapidly. Even the deep internal wounds caused by Vergo's devastating Armament Haki showed signs of quick recovery.
His remarkable physique, bolstered by the divine power of his training methods, allowed Koby to grow at an extraordinary pace.
Vergo, his opponent, was visibly shaken.
"This damned brat is really using me as a whetstone," Vergo thought. "And his body… no matter how much I hit him, he bounces back. What the hell is this kid made of? Pure training?"
Vergo's frustration only deepened as he assessed Koby's potential. "If this physique is paired with the right Devil Fruit, he'll definitely rise to the level of a Yonko one day. Just what kind of monsters has Chiba recruited?"
Despite himself, Vergo couldn't help but admire Koby. The young Marine had tapped into the same physical enhancement methods that Vergo himself had trained with, yet Koby's results were leagues ahead—a testament to the undeniable gap in natural talent.
After several intense exchanges, Vergo suddenly leaped back and held up a hand. "Enough. There's no need to continue this fight."
Koby halted immediately, narrowing his eyes. "Why are you backing down? Are you admitting defeat?"
Vergo shook his head. "No. I'm saying we'll both die if we keep this up."
"What are you talking about?" Koby asked, his brow furrowed in confusion.
Vergo pointed to the sky, where shimmering white threads were descending ominously. "See those threads? That's the ability of Doflamingo's String-String Fruit. I call it the Birdcage. Every thread is razor-sharp and nearly indestructible. Before long, this entire battlefield will be shredded to pieces."
Koby followed Vergo's gaze, his expression darkening as he saw the enormous dome of silken threads enclosing all of Dressrosa. Yet, he remained calm, his voice unwavering. "A mere Birdcage? That won't stop Rebecca or the power of the Four Souls in her hands."
Koby turned his attention to Rebecca, who hovered midair, engulfed in a blazing crimson aura. Behind her, the phantom image of a golden crow shimmered. She gripped the legendary Sword of Four Souls, her eyes locked on Doflamingo.
"Doflamingo!" Rebecca's voice rang out, firm and resolute. "Do you really think this Birdcage will hold me back?"
Doflamingo smirked, his trademark sadistic laugh filling the air. "Kuuhahaha! Then come on, little girl. Show me what you've got!"
Rebecca tightened her grip on the Sword of Four Souls. For the first time, the sword's dormant Fire Phoenix energy awakened, blending seamlessly with her powerful Armament Haki and the spiritual essence of two Taoist masters. Flames as red as blood engulfed the blade, and Rebecca's resolve burned just as fiercely.
With a flash of lightning-like speed, Rebecca unleashed the Electro-Optic Dragon Swimming Technique, dashing straight toward Doflamingo's clone that was controlling the Birdcage from the palace.
Her strike was devastating. The sheer force of her blade's energy burned through the clone, reducing it to ashes. The silk threads of the Birdcage began disintegrating, consumed by Rebecca's crimson flames. The Birdcage's structure, once unyielding, collapsed entirely as the threads turned soft and fell like cooked noodles.
The once-imposing Birdcage was utterly destroyed.
Without hesitation, Rebecca ascended higher, the Sword of Four Souls glowing with fiery energy. Her target: Doflamingo himself.
Doflamingo's confident smirk faltered as Rebecca approached. "Impossible! My Birdcage was infused with Armament Haki and Conqueror's Haki! How did she—? This damned woman! Damn that Chiba!" Realizing the danger, he turned and attempted to flee.
Rebecca, however, was far faster.
Within moments, she caught up to him, slashing at his back. Doflamingo whirled around, countering with his Five Color Strings, but Rebecca's saber energy tore through his attack with ease, landing a devastating blow on his shoulder.
Doflamingo screamed as his right arm was severed, the limb plummeting from the sky in a torrent of blood.
Below, the spectators were stunned.
Don Chinjao stared in disbelief, his eyes locked on the fierce swordswoman in the sky. "Lao G! Look at that woman! She's the one who severed Doflamingo's arm! Could that really be Rebecca, the same girl who once participated in the coliseum fights?"
Lao G, equally astonished, squinted at Rebecca's figure. "It's her. That's definitely Rebecca."
"I don't believe it!" Chinjao exclaimed. "How could a girl so weak back then possess the strength to overpower Doflamingo now?"
"It's because of Chiba," Lao G said solemnly. "Rebecca ate one of the artificial Devil Fruits Chiba created. It's given her unimaginable power."
Chinjao's envy was evident as he muttered, "If that's what Chiba's Devil Fruits can do, I'd kill to have one myself."
His expression then shifted to determination. "Lao G, I've made up my mind. Let's join Chiba's pirate crew."
Lao G raised an eyebrow. "You? At your age? Shouldn't you just retire?"
"Bah!" Chinjao snapped. "I may be old, but I'm far from done."
