One Piece: Gold And Fire

Chapter 25: Chapter 25 : Hard To Find [2]

'I'm sure that there is something sus about this person, but I can't put my finger into it.' Ragna muttered to himself as he was taken inside the big mansion, the butler with glasses looking at him with seer on his face, his face particularly looked punchable right now.

However Ragna held himself back, though he had a feeling that he had seen this person somewhere, he couldn't remember where and thus he didn't act on it. Right now he is here strictly for business and thus he plans to do just that, business.

Ragna had to stand at the grand gates of Kaya's mansion for a long before getting to the entrance...

"You're not welcome here," Klahadore the butler said coldly, adjusting his glasses. "This is a respectable household, and we don't entertain beggars here."

That is what the bastard said, making Ragna mad, maybe part of the reason he wanted to punch the bastard came from the fact that he was judging him by his clothes and appearance.

"I'm here to do business, not cause trouble. Tell your master I want to speak with him." Ragna at first remained calm but the butler was making him mad.

"The answer is no. Now, leave before I call the guards." Said the butler to him after crossing his arms.

Of course, Ragna didn't budge. Otherwise how he would have gotten the entry in the first place.

"I'm not leaving until I speak with the owner of the state. I have business with him if he refuses my offer then it's fine but until then I ain't going anywhere..." Ragna was firm with his words and made sure that the damn butler couldn't close the door on him.

The butler's irritation grew, Ragna could see it, and he enjoyed it. Klahadore who was Kuro wanted to use force to close the gate but found that no matter how much strength he used he couldn't close the gate, he was holding onto the gates firmly, and it wasn't even budging a bit.

"Fine. If it will make you go away faster, I'll let you speak to him. But don't expect much."

He led Ragna inside, clearly annoyed, and soon they reached a spacious sitting room. An older man with kind eyes and a gentle demeanour sat on an ornate chair. He looked up curiously as Ragna entered.

"Who is this, Klahadore?" the man asked.

"This... individual insists on speaking with you," Klahadore said disdainfully.

Ragna not paying the butler any mind, stepped forward and gave a polite nod. "Sir, my name is Ragna. I am to make an offer..." Ragna said as he saw the man was much more polite than his butler.

'This guy needs a new butler, period...'

It's hard to tell by the attitude how's the bulter and who's the owner...

"Offer? What kind of offer, my company deals with ship making. If you have anything regarding that then why not just contact Merry, he could help you out..." The said man was Kaya's father.

"Hmm no, I'm not here for ship thank you. I'm actually here to purchase gold...I'm willing to pay a good price if you have any gold you're willing to sell." Only now Ragna knew that the man had a ship-building company. Maybe he should have done some research before coming here.

However, his business was simple, as long as he got some gold he had no further business with them, he was ready to pay, he even paid a little extra if he could get gold here...

The man looked thoughtful but before he could reply, Klahadore interjected, "Sir, surely you're not considering this? Gold is not one of the commodities we trade anyway and to sell it to this random thug... This man could be a fraud, or worse, trying to mislead you!" Once again the Butler spoke irritating Ragna...

Ragna shot a glare at Klahadore. "I have the money, what kind of fraud says that he gonna buy the gold. As long as you are willing to sell gold then I'll bring the money. You can first check the money before making the transaction." Ragna said with clear heat in his tone, internally trying to remember where he saw this guy's face.

Kaya's father hesitated, glancing between Ragna and the butler. "I understand your point, I don't doubt your offer either.

But we simply don't deal with Gold, we have a ship-building business. I don't have much gold at hand. I'm sorry but I can't take this offer..." Said the man making Ragna once again dejected. He knew it.

Finding someone to sell him gold would be hard. He didn't know whether the owner here was telling him the truth or not but there was a possibility that even after having gold he won't be selling to someone like him.

"I understand, thanks for hearing me out anyway. If you know any place here where I could purchase gold then I would appreciate it." Ragna asked with a sigh, to which he got the same response.

This place was too remote to get a gold dealer here. He at least needed to go to a big Navy base and exchange money there or maybe he could go to one of the kingdom's rulers for gold but whether they sold him gold for money was a hard thing to say.

Sigh.

Nami stormed through Syrup Village, her face flushed with frustration. "That idiot hypnotist! How hard can it be to find a clown with a spinning disc?" She scanned every corner, her temper rising with each step.

The girl was huffing as she was running all the way to find Jango but he was nowhere to be found...

Then, in the distance, she spotted the same long-nosed idiot who wasted their time earlier playing with three small children, waving his slingshot around dramatically.

"And then he offers his expensive Gun to me in surrender...!"

"Really boss, where it is. I never have seen a gun before. How does it look..." Asked one of the kids.

"Oh, that..ahh I didn't take it, after all, I don't need a gun. I'm the great captain Usopp and my slingshot is more than enough for me to handle any danger... hahahaha" Usopp replied.

"What the hell is that idiot up to now..." Nami's sweat dropped, she didn't understand but he had a suspicion that that idiot was talking about Ragna and her.

Nami marched up and grabbed Usopp by the back of his shirt. "Great story, unfortunately, it's gonna have to remain a story. Now come with me..." Nami yanked Usopp away while they were still playing.

Usopp yelped, spinning around to face her. "What's the big idea? I'm busy here!" Usopp shouted, but soon his voice quieted down seeing who this was, he hurriedly looked around and after not finding Ragna anywhere, he sighed in relief.

Nami crossed her arms, glaring at him. "The big idea is that you gonna help me find someone, a dangerous Pirate escaped, and we need to find him before Ragna finds out. You don't want to see Ragna angry, do you?" Nami said and intentionally put Ragna's name knowing that Usopp would give in.

Usopp gulped, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. "That guy again..."

"Good," Nami said with a smirk, grabbing his arm and dragging him along. "Now, split up and search. And don't mess this up!"

"But wait—how am I supposed to know who this guy is?" Usopp asked desperately.

"Figure it out! idiot, it's not that hard. He's a pretty weird guy with a strange walking style and clothes. He will stand out like a sore thump okay... just keep your eyes open and you'll know it" Nami snapped, stomping off in the other direction.

"Easy for you to say..." Usopp shouted seeing the retreating girl with a helpless expression on his face.

Meanwhile, Jango wandered through the village, muttering to himself. "Where's Captain Kuro?" Jango by now had searched many places, of course, he couldn't asked people whether there was a dangerous pirate here so he had to do the searching in private. Not to mention he himself was being chased by Ragna so he better stay low.

Or at least that is what he thought, after a little time he was completely tired and couldn't move anymore. And that was when he met this person...

Usopp, clueless about Jango's identity, bumped into him. "Sigh so tied...!" Usopp after running around to spot any suspicious figure in the village was tried and sat down on a small rock and found another person was sitting beside him...

"Yes, very tied..." Jango on instinct replied to Usopp, showing he wasn't the only one who was tried.

"Hufff... you are also tied too, why ?"

"Looking for someone..."

"You too, damn. I'm also looking for someone as well."

Jango blinked. "Really! strange. Who are you looking for?"

"A guy who is supposed to be dressed strangely and a weirdo, that all I know" Usopp said casually.

'Dress strangely huh! People nowadays have no dressing sense, if only I didn't have to change clothes to disguise myself then I could have shown my fashion sense to the people of Syrup Town.

Sigh. These clothes here are just so blatant... ' Jango thought, disdain clearly visible on his face about his disguise, little did he know that what now he wears was more normal and far better than his earlier clothes.

"What a coincidence! I'm looking for someone too—Cap... his...his name is Kuro." Jango almost said to disclose Kuro's identity there but he stopped himself...

"Oh really, though I don't remember anyone with that name in the town!" Usopp replied running his mind to remember whether he knew this person, and the answer was no. There was no Kuro in the Syrup Village.

But he certainly could say that he had heard the name Kuro somewhere recently. But where?

"Hey, how about we both help each other out. Two is better than one right. We can help each other to find the people we are looking for. What you say." Usopp implied.

"Deal!" Jango said eagerly, neither realizing the absurd misunderstanding.
