Chapter 226: Chapter 226: Caesar's Blue Dragon Fruit
Chapter 226: Caesar's Blue Dragon Fruit
"Animal-type, Mythical Beast, Blue Dragon form! This is my dad's treasure—you can eat it!"
Charlotte pushed the pink Devil Fruit in front of Caesar and spoke with excitement.
Caesar stared at the fruit in disbelief. As Charlotte's son, he certainly understood what it was.
But when he heard it was a Mythical Beast type, he was still shocked.
The Mythical Beast type is said to be even more precious than the Logia type, and his dad actually had one in his possession.
This realization made Caesar look up at Charlotte in astonishment.
If he knew his father had more than one Mythical Beast fruit, he'd probably be even more surprised.
"What are you standing there for?"
Charlotte, noticing Caesar's blank stare, couldn't help but feel proud. This boy must be deeply touched.
After all, his father was so good to him—giving away such a rare Devil Fruit just because he asked for it!
Caesar hesitated for a moment, then took the fruit from Charlotte's hand, examined it closely, closed his eyes, gritted his teeth, and took a bite.
"Ugh!"
The moment the fruit touched his tongue, the taste hit him like a punch. It was like rotten eggs mixed with stagnant ditch water, making him gag instantly.
"Hold on! Hold on! You have to eat it all!"
Charlotte quickly shouted, lying without hesitation.
"Only by eating it completely can the full power of the fruit be unleashed!"
He just wanted to see how his lazy son would force down the entire fruit, which was bigger than his head, bite by bite.
Hearing his father's words, Caesar suppressed his nausea and continued eating, his face turning red as sweat beaded on his forehead.
Seeing Charlotte's stern expression, he clenched his jaw and swallowed bite after bite.
After eating it all…
Caesar suddenly felt his body swelling uncontrollably.
Charlotte, noticing the change, immediately grabbed Caesar and threw him out of the window.
"Dad! What are you doing?!—"
Before Caesar could finish, he was already soaring through the air, flailing helplessly.
Under his incredulous gaze, his father had thrown him from the fourth floor of the castle—dozens of meters high.
Caesar's body continued to expand as he plummeted toward the ground.
Boom!
A thunderous crash echoed as Caesar hit the ground, kicking up a massive cloud of dust.
---
"What's going on?! What's happening?!"
The deafening noise startled a group of people sleeping in the hall.
They sprang to their feet, grabbed their weapons, and rushed outside.
Charlotte stood at the window, calmly watching the scene below.
If one looked closely, they'd notice a faint smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
As the dust settled, a pink dragon lay sprawled on the ground, shaking its head. Bits of broken bricks tumbled from its horns.
The dragon blinked its confused eyes and saw a large group of people rushing out, weapons drawn.
Without hesitation, Charlotte leapt out of the window.
Whoosh!
From several dozen meters high, Charlotte descended swiftly, the wind whistling past him.
Everyone looked up, watching as their captain landed gracefully on the ground.
"Captain!"
"Captain!"
The crew members immediately saluted, their eyes filled with admiration.
Charlotte's image in their minds had once again been reinforced as someone truly formidable.
---
"Put away your swords—there's no enemy here," Charlotte ordered, glancing at the group.
He then turned his attention to the ten-meter-long pink dragon.
"Dad! Why did you throw me?!"
Caesar, now in dragon form, roared in grievance. The fall had hurt—really hurt.
But as he bellowed, a fiery ball began to form in his throat.
Whoosh!
A burst of flame shot from Caesar's mouth, heading straight for Charlotte.
Charlotte's eyes narrowed. He didn't expect his son to attack, even if it was unintentional.
It was too late to dodge. If he moved, the crew behind him would be in danger!
Without hesitation, Charlotte activated his Armament Haki, covering his entire body. To avoid ruining his luxurious clothes, he even reinforced them with Haki.
Boom!
The flames engulfed Charlotte, but he stood firm, barely feeling the heat except for a faint burnt smell.
"Good boy! How dare you attack your father!"
Before Caesar could react, a green-and-black iron fist loomed large in his vision.
Bam!
"Ouch! That hurts!"
A massive bump appeared on the pink dragon's head. Caesar writhed on the ground, twisting in agony.
His ten-meter-long body rolled across the garden, demolishing half of the carefully tended flower beds.
---
"Captain? What is that?"
Paul, one of Charlotte's trusted subordinates, approached cautiously, pointing at the pink dragon.
"That's my son, Caesar. He just ate an animal-type Devil Fruit and hasn't mastered it yet," Charlotte explained nonchalantly.
"Master Caesar?"
Everyone exchanged stunned glances.
The commotion had roused even those still in their rooms, who now gathered around to witness the spectacle.
"Captain, is this an invasion?"
Another group of armed men rushed over, weapons at the ready, eyeing the thrashing dragon warily.
Charlotte shook his head, unwilling to explain further.
Understanding his captain's temperament, Paul stepped forward to brief the others.
When the crew learned that it was just Master Caesar losing control after eating a Devil Fruit, they collectively sighed in relief.
But as they looked at the pink dragon, envy flickered in their eyes.
Judging by the fire breath alone, it was clear this was no ordinary Zoan-type. It had to be a Mythical Beast species.
For these men, who had rarely encountered such treasures, the sight of a tumbling pink dragon was both awe-inspiring and jealousy-inducing.
---
"It hurts!"
After several more rolls, Caesar finally stopped, shrinking back to his human form.
Curled up into a ball, the 1.4-meter-tall boy clutched his head, tears welling up as he glared at Charlotte.
Charlotte rolled his eyes.
It might hurt, but it's not like I actually injured you.
"Alright, get up! Stop embarrassing yourself in front of everyone!"
Charlotte grabbed Caesar by the collar, hoisting him to his feet.
"But it really hurts!"
Caesar whimpered, pointing at the bump on his head.
Charlotte, however, pretended not to notice.
---
"The Devil Fruit I gave you is an artificial one, created by Vegapunk," Charlotte explained, brushing dust off Caesar's clothes.
"Get used to it and see if there are any side effects. Stop being lazy and don't waste such a top-tier Devil Fruit!"
Caesar nodded half-heartedly, only catching the part about the fruit being artificial and created by someone named Vegapunk.
As for the "stop being lazy" part? He conveniently ignored it.
