Chapter 1: Hawthorne Akira

Sea Calander 1343, New World, Seikatsu Country, Seikatsu Academy.

Seikatsu Academy is an Academy that teaches all students equally whether they are royal, noble, or commoner, Founded by Hawthrone Zenjiro in 1330 same year the princess of Seikatsu, Hawthrone Mayumi born.

Nobles of this country and many from neighbouring countries join the academy. The curriculum teaches history, geography, calculation, self-defense, and many others, they learn from age 9 to 16 and graduate at the age of 17, just around 8 years.

Room 2A

The classroom buzzed with clusters of voices, children leaned toward one another, taking, discussing, sharing, or debating over trivial things. Pens tapped against desks, chairs scraped the floor, and the occasional laugh rang in between.

The room is spacious yet structured, designed to comfortably accommodate 30 students. From the tall, rectangular windows, sunlight streams into the room, which has wooden desks arranged in five rows of six for the students to sit comfortably.

At the front, a large whiteboard spans the width of the room. To the side, stands the teacher's desk, neatly stacked with lesson plans and a wooden stick on top of the notes.

At the front of them stood a tall-looking young woman in a modest dress with a flowing cardigan, who had enough of the noisy class.

"Silence, Class."

Chatters of the students were silenced.

She scanned the students before asking.

"Who can tell me about the Land of Life?"

Students raised their hands. She glanced at them and pointed at a boy.

"You with the red eye"

The crimson-eyed boy got up from his desk.

"I'm Akira… not red eye"

And then answered.

"Land of Life otherwise known as Seikatsu Country is a country in the new world that is unaffiliated with the world government. It is located on the north side of the new world, west of Wano country, east of calm belt…"

As the boy answered, two girls appeared at the doorway wearing a bag containing books, one of the girls looked noticeably taller than the other one.

The older girl watched the teacher with her crimson eye, waiting, while the younger one fixed her crimson gaze on the speaking boy.

He hesitated briefly before continuing.

"… it is currently under the rule of the Hawthrone Zenjiro."

Just as Akira finished, he moved swiftly from his desk, heading for the door. But before he could pass, She caught his arm.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Akira turned to her.

"Ma'am, my sisters have come."

"What?"

Hearing the question, Akira replied.

"They are here for me, I need to go."

She narrowed her eyes.

"Show me your hand."

"Ma'am, It's my father's birthday today."

She snapped.

"I said, Show me your hand"

Akira slowly raised his hand.

The teacher picked up a bamboo stick from her desk and struck his palm.

His sister's flinched at the sharp sound, while he clenched his eyes shut, swallowing his pain. Akira lowered his hand in pain.

"Hand Up"

She ordered.

Akira raised his trembling hand once more. Another strike.

The teacher placed the stick back on the desk and said.

"Go kneel over there until the class is over."

In silence, Akira walked to the corner of the room, turned, and knelt with his arms raised, staring at the teacher.

She resumed his lesson.

"... Let's continue, The Adventure stopped the world government's attempt and protected us from…"

A sharp bell sound started ringing.

Akira took his eye from the teacher to the ringing sound and got up to his feet.

Hearing the bell, the teacher asked the class.

"Understood?"

Came the chorus of voices.

"Yes, Ma'am"

Without hesitation, the boy ran past his teacher, overtaking his sisters as he disappeared down the corridor.

The teacher's gaze followed him until he was gone. Then her eyes drifted to his desk where his bag is.

The hallway echoed with rapid thud of footsteps as the boy sprinted down the corridor. His breadth came in short bursts.

He ran over the corridor, jumped over the corridor then the ground to the carriage that waited just outside of the exit.

The carriage's black gold frame was adorned with intricate sea serpent engravings. With heavy, reinforced wheels that crushed the dirt beneath them. The windows are tinted and draped with velvet curtains.

At the front stood the mount, two massive war bears, their thick fur dark as the abyss, it had the sharp claw that could tear through steel. A golden-plated harness wrapped around its body, the beast's eyes gleamed with intelligence as they watched the surrounding crowd.

It then turned its head to the gate just in time to see Akira exit the gate and enter the carriage.

After his sister entered the carriage, the carriage driver whistled to the war beast and they started running and they moved toward their home.

Castle of life

The movement of the carriage stopped, and Akira bolted out.

The castle stood with quiet grandeur. Tall, fluted columns framed the entrance. Afternoon sun gleamed through the arched windows trimmed in dark wood.

The exterior wall is smooth white painted. The roof, a gentle slope of dark slate, contrasted the bright walls, while a single balcony on the second floor overlooked the entryway.

With guards roaming over the castle surveying for any potential threat.

Akira ran through the grand double door while shouting.

"Dad!"

His footsteps echoed through the vast halls. He peeked into the dining room empty. The long table stretched into the distance.

"Dad?'

He dashed through corridors, past the towering painting of his ancestor. He checked his dad's study, then the library, His voice grew more urgent.

"Dad?"

The house felt too empty.

Seeing Akira's futile effort, Akira's mom sighed.

"Akira"

Akira stopped in his track turned and ran to her arms.

"Mom"

Yuri Hawthrone, Akira's mom, Zenjiro's wife, Queen of Seikatsu, wore a gown, that flowed around her in delicate layers of silk and embroidery, her dark black eyes gazed at him as she held him close.

He pulled away slightly.

"where's dad?"

She gently smoothed his hair.

"you know he's a busy man. He had to rush to the factory."

Akira's face fell.

Trying to lift his spirit, she smiled.

"Why don't we make a clone of your father? That way, one can stay at home while the other works."

"Cloning takes too long, Mom."

"We'll have to find a body double. But no matter how many lookalikes we find, no one can compare to Dad."

Seikatsu Factory, Heart of the Hawthrone.

Akira took the carriage to the factory to find his dad at the factory.

The factory's massive machine hummed, and steam hissed from the massive vents. The carriage came to a halt.

Akira waster no time. He leaped out and ran inside.

"Dad"

His voice rang through the cavernous space. One by one, workers paused, turning toward the source of the sound. Sounds of machinery softened as silence spread.

"Dad"

"Dad"

Only his voice echoed.

Castle of life

Moonlight filtered through three massive windows as shadows stretched across the polished wood, flickering with each movement of the curtains. Papers are scattered on the polished wood.

A crimson-eyed man sat at the grand dining table with a cigarette in his hand while glancing at the stack of papers containing the details about their partnership with a neighboring kingdom.

Yuri approached quietly.

"The Kids made a cake for you,"

"They waited… but got tired making cake and went to bed."

Zenjiro remained silent, he stopped working but his gaze still lingered on the documents.

She sighed.

"You didn't even meet them after calling them back from Academy today."

"I'll make it up to them."

Yuri shook her head.

"They notice everything, Zenjiro. And it bothers them."

She took the cigarette from his hand, pressed it into the ashtray, and asked.

"You know what he said yesterday?"

"He wants to change his name… to Zenjiro II."

Zenjiro looked up at Yuri.

"I tried to argue, But do you know what he said?"

Yuri continued.

"If there can be a Kento II and Hiroki V, then why not Zenjiro II?"

Her voice softened.

"You're his superhero. Can't you spare just ten minutes of your day for your son?"

Some times later…

Zenjiro opened and glanced at the sleeping akira and entered the room.

Akira's room is filled with posters of the navy, pirates, scattered books, and a wooden sword on display. Moonlight stretched across the floor.

He walked over and gently took a letter from Akira's hand. His gaze flickered to the red mark on the boy's palm.

Then he read the letter.

"Dad, in my next life, I want you to be my son.

I want you to see how much I love you.

You can learn from it.

Because in the life after that,

I will once again be your son, and you will be my dad.

Then you can express your love In your unique way.

Instead of how I do it.

I hope you understand, Dad.

If you do, that would be more than enough for me."

Seikatsu Academy

The next day Akira stood before his classmates, handing out sakura mochi a delicate mochi cake made of sweet pink-colored rice cake, red bean paste, and pickled cherry blossom leaf. His classmates eagerly took the sweets.

A boy with glasses took one and grinned.

"Happy birthday to your father"

Akira nodded.

"Thank you."

A chubby one followed.

"Happy birthday to your father"

"Thank You."

Then, a girl chimed in.

"Happy birthday to your father"

"Thank You."

The boy with glasses adjusted his frames.

"By the way, How could you forget your bag at school?"

A lean boy leaned in and muttered.

"Yeah the teacher took your bag with her, But after finding out about your dad she returned it to your desk"

Akira handed the sweet to the last student, who also said.

"Happy birthday to your father"

Turning back, He met the glasses boy's gaze and answered.

"Well, I was finally going to meet my father after his trip to Wano."

A girl tilted her head.

"Do you love your Dad?"

"I love my father more than anything in the whole world."

The chubby raised an eyebrow.

"Everyone loves their parents. What makes you so special?"

The boy with glasses smirked.

"Yeah. And what do you mean by 'more than anything'?"

"How do you even measure love?"

Akira smiled.

"The same way you measure effort by how much time you give it."

"How?"

Akira explained.

"It's like studying all year and then getting grades that tell the difference between…"

He pointed at the chubby boy.

"Who failed."

Then at the glasses boy.

"Who passed."

And finally, at himself.

"And who came first."

The class fell silent. Akira let his words settle before adding.

"In the same way, time will show if my love for my father… fails, passes, or comes out on top."
